Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 895 - 890: The Grand Finale (Part 14)
Joseph Colson underestimated him and overestimated himself.
Did he really think that by using Crystal to break up him and Camila, Joseph would get Camila and form a marriage alliance with the Ruiz family?
On the surface, Joseph seemed to want to make Charles Colson suffer, but secretly he actually wanted to form a marriage alliance with the Ruiz family to elevate the Colson Consortium.
"How did your men fare in striking against the Colson Consortium?"
Camila leaned on his shoulder and asked.
"Not bad, but we couldn't acquire much stock because most of it is in Joseph's hands. We could only suppress them in other ways. Truly toppling the Colsons isn't feasible in the short term," Jimmy Horne replied in a deep tone. With his character, he wanted to uproot the Colson Consortium, but who knew Joseph was so ruthless that he had seized the stocks from his family members and had bought shares from other shareholders. Now, Joseph alone held eighty percent of the consortium's shares.
"No, that's Charles's family business," Camila pleaded, looking up at him. "Return the company to Charles when the time comes."
Jimmy pressed his lips, then smiled, "Right now, my goal is not to bring down the Colsons but to expose Joseph's misdeeds and have him face rightful punishment."
"Someone as ruthless as him deserves to be punished."
"Enough about them, let's talk about us." Jimmy shifted the topic back to the two of them. Looking down into Camila's eyes, his gentle gaze made her heart flutter. She loved when he looked at her with deep affection as if she were his most cherished treasure. "Camila, what about our marriage?"
All three families were preparing for their wedding. His grandmother and grandmother had even picked an auspicious date, just a month away. They could either get married or engaged.
"With our parents worrying about it, we can continue enjoying our world together," Camila responded, her face showing a hint of shyness. "There isn't much to prepare for an engagement."
Jimmy's eyes flashed, his arm slipped to her stomach, casually brushing her belly. He wondered if there was his child inside.
"Then let's register first." They were both of legal age to marry.
Registering would make them legally a couple, so he wouldn't have to worry about someone taking her away.
Camila thought for a moment and nodded, not thinking deeply, unaware that what Jimmy wanted wasn't an engagement but marriage.
The two of them sat by the sea, discussing their future lives, looking at the ocean, reminiscing about their time back at the base, considering current issues, and started planning the next steps to resolve them.
After sitting for a while, Camila received a call from Hansen Ruiz saying that Joseph had arrived and was waiting for her at home.
At the same time, Jimmy received a call from one of his subordinates. After listening, his face became serious. He grimly instructed, "Once he's saved, protect him. He'll be a crucial witness when we close the net."
"What's wrong?"
Camila, having finished her call first, noticed his serious expression and asked with concern.
Jimmy replied solemnly, "The Vice President of the Colson Consortium is Joseph's most trusted assistant. Their relationship is like my uncle's with your father. But Joseph has now sent someone to assassinate his close friend because that friend knows too much."
Camila gasped, could Joseph be this ruthless? Not only towards his brother but also his friends. Such people, climbing too high, thinking they're invincible, must be harshly brought down, making them dizzy.
"My people saved that Vice President, don't worry. Everything is under my control," Jimmy stated with a slightly tense face, his tone low. He had laid a meticulous plan, waiting for Joseph to fall into the trap. He wanted Joseph to realize the consequences of trying to take Jimmy Horne's woman.
If Joseph genuinely loved Camila, perhaps he would only be jealous and not deal with Joseph this way. But Joseph was using Camila to integrate into the Ruiz family and then devour them. In the Shopping Mall, Joseph's tactics were quite sly. The two young masters of the Ruiz family were still in college, only interning at the company during holidays. How could they be a match for Joseph?
That's precisely why Jimmy detested Joseph.
He could tolerate having rivals in love, as they proved his Camila was excellent, but he wouldn't allow anyone to use Camila!
"My dad called me, saying Joseph is at my house waiting for me."
Jimmy's face turned slightly grim, Joseph was too shameless, appearing every day.
"Camila, we're about to bring our act to its climax," Jimmy said with an icy chill. Joseph was the kind of person who had to be eliminated quickly, and he decided to push their joint play to its peak today.
Camila nodded, understanding what needed to be done.
The Ruiz Family.
Joseph was still in his dark blue suit. Although he wasn't tall and not particularly handsome, clothes can make a man, just as a Buddha relies on gold. Dressed in a suit and tie, portraying the air of a successful person, he had a touch of charm and, combined with his status, was quite attractive to women outside.
He sat properly on the sofa, with Hansen Ruiz sitting opposite him. A coffee table lay between them, on which were the gifts Joseph had brought. He had visited the Ruiz family several times, always bringing many gifts, never arriving empty-handed.
Crystal had hidden away, not seeing him.
Every time he came, Crystal hid.
Hansen Ruiz and his wife understood Crystal's actions, never explicitly telling Joseph that Crystal lived there.
Wearing his usual warm smile, Hansen's deep eyes fixed on Joseph. He smiled, "Mr. Colson, please have some tea first. I've called Camila; she should be back soon."
Joseph promptly replied, "Uncle, there's no rush."
Rachel Bailey brought out two plates of seasonal fruits, placing them on the coffee table. She smiled at Joseph, "Mr. Colson, you're too polite. You bring so many things every time you come. There's really no need for such expense."
"Auntie, it's just a small gesture," Joseph said modestly.
In front of Hansen and his wife, he always behaved humbly, courteously. Even when Charles's name came up, he appeared magnanimous, insisting the rumors were false and that he wasn't so harsh towards Charles.
Could he get away with tricks in front of Hansen?
Hansen saw through him but didn't expose him. He had secretly investigated that the Colson Consortium was being subtly struck and that someone was secretly gathering evidence of Joseph's illegal activities. He guessed it was certainly Jimmy arranging things behind the scenes. Thus, on the surface, he pretended to be impartial, acting as if he couldn't see through Joseph.
