Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 893 - 888: The Grand Finale (Part 12)
"Brother Ivan, when did you become so unethical? Don't you know it's very rude to disturb someone's dreams early in the morning? Tell me, what earth-shattering affair is at hand? If it's not earth-shattering, be careful, I might peel your skin!" Camila Ruiz grumbled angrily, her mood particularly foul after being woken up.
Yesterday, Ivan Horne suddenly threw a whole heap of work at her, saying it was time for her test, and she had to finish those tasks before clocking out, leading to her working overtime until midnight, causing Jimmy Horne distress.
And now Ivan Horne disrupted her slumber again; wouldn't she be furious?
After her tirade, Camila Ruiz yawned and fell back onto her bed, grabbed her pillow, and, like a wilted eggplant, muttered again, "Brother Ivan, I'm sorry, I was just too mad just now."
Ivan Horne chuckled on the other end of the phone: "Camila, no worries, keep sleeping." With that said, he hung up the phone.
Staring at the busy signal on the phone, Camila Ruiz's face turned green; it seemed her elder brother was utterly bored, using her as his plaything.
Throwing her phone aside, Camila Ruiz continued her weekend lazy sleep.
Unlike her laziness, downstairs, Crystal was particularly diligent, waking up very early every day to help Rachel Bailey prepare breakfast for everyone. Her cooking skills weren't inferior to Rachel Bailey's, maybe even surpassing hers. Perhaps her culinary skills were the only thing she could boast about. Besides helping with breakfast, she would also rush to do the nannies' work: sweeping the floors, mopping, wiping windows, tidying the courtyard, watering flowers—anything she could, she'd eagerly do.
Camila Ruiz and Rachel Bailey had advised her countless times, telling her not to rush to work as she was pregnant.
She insisted that she felt guilty living and eating for free and needed to do something to feel better.
Charles Colson never spoke to her, only gave her a cold, guarded look. When he was around, Crystal dared not move, fearing he'd notice something.
At this moment, she was sweeping fallen leaves in the courtyard. It's October, some courtyard trees began to turn yellow, and the autumn breeze swept them to the ground; every morning, the nannies had to spend some time cleaning up the leaves.
A luxury business car pulled up outside the villa and parked.
The car door opened, and Jimmy Horne's tall, handsome figure emerged.
Seeing him, Crystal quickly smiled and greeted him at the door, opening the villa's gate while tenderly smiling, "Jimmy, you're here."
Jimmy Horne didn't respond, but when he heard her call him 'Jimmy,' his brows furrowed slightly, showing some displeasure.
"Come in quickly; the morning chill is setting in," Crystal spoke while attempting to pull Jimmy Horne in. Jimmy Horne glared at her, making her retract her hand sheepishly, her face showing a hint of redness.
Jimmy Horne walked past her and headed inside.
"Camila hasn't gotten up yet; she likes to lie in on weekends," Crystal turned to follow Jimmy Horne, her exquisite face always adorned with a soft, enchanting smile. Though she was delicate, her breathtaking smile could captivate cities. As Jimmy Horne entered, she raised her voice slightly as if intentionally.
Jimmy Horne couldn't help but stop in his tracks, and turned to glare at her coldly.
Crystal dared not meet his gaze.
This man was young, younger than her by a year or two, perhaps, but he was tall, and his expressions were ever-changing, sometimes exuding a sense of supreme nobility, as if he were an emperor high above, and they were mere subjects at his feet; other times, he was frightfully cold, with deep eyes that seemed able to freeze someone with a glance. Crystal always felt Jimmy Horne's gaze was too sharp, even sharper than Joseph Colson's, afraid her thoughts might be deciphered by him.
"Are you afraid of me?"
Suddenly, Jimmy Horne's handsome face loomed closer to Crystal, with a deep, cold voice, giving her a significant fright. Instinctively wanting to step back, she paused, contemplating something, eventually staying put, merely lifting her luminous eyes to look at Jimmy Horne, smiling sweetly, and replied, "How could Crystal fear someone as outstandingly handsome as Master Jimmy?"
Jimmy Horne stared coldly into her striking eyes, his penetrating aura leaving Crystal too frightened even to breathe, yet she had to maintain her composure.
Suddenly, Jimmy Horne extended his large hand, lifting a lock of hair that fell across her chest, placing it gently behind her, murmuring, "Your hair is too long; tie it up."
Upon finishing, he moved nonchalantly inside.
Crystal, however, remained frozen in place.
Jimmy Horne's gesture was intimate, indeed!
On the second-floor balcony of a certain room, Charles Colson, with a cold expression, captured the scene on camera.
Jimmy Horne entered the house, greeted Rachel Bailey, and sat in the hall waiting for Camila Ruiz to wake up.
Crystal quickly finished cleaning the courtyard and entered the house. Seeing Jimmy Horne appearing somewhat bored sitting in the hall, she seated herself opposite him, finding topics to chat about.
Jimmy Horne mostly ignored her, occasionally responding with a single word.
They "chatted" like this until Camila Ruiz appeared before them.
Camila Ruiz was surprised to see Jimmy Horne chatting with another woman besides her, observing Crystal's radiant smile, her enchanting face, and then seeing Jimmy Horne's gaze on Crystal, she suddenly felt a bit annoyed, as if Jimmy Horne and Crystal were hiding something from her.
"Camila, you're up. Jimmy came early in the morning to see you," Crystal said with a smile, warmly addressing Camila Ruiz.
Hearing Crystal call Jimmy Horne so warmly, and Jimmy Horne didn't refute, her inner annoyance deepened.
Usually, except for family, women could only call him Mr. Horne or President Horne. Crystal had been living in the Ruiz family for how long? Just a few days, right? Certainly wasn't family; was she tolerating Crystal then, allowing Crystal to call him Jimmy so affectionately?
Indeed, beauty is enticing.
Camila Ruiz felt displeased inwardly, but outwardly, it didn't show; she smiled, as usual, approaching Jimmy Horne and asked how long he'd been around, and how long he'd waited for her.
The two, like all infatuated couples, saw only each other in their eyes.
Crystal wanted to remain seated but felt embarrassed, leaving with a mix of reluctance and avoidance.
After her departure, Camila Ruiz and Jimmy Horne exchanged a glance, a meaningful look understood only by them.
Before long, Hansen Ruiz and Charles Colson also came downstairs.
Rachel Bailey and Crystal served breakfast to everyone.
"Jimmy, I knew you'd definitely come for Camila today, so I specially made your favorite dish." As everyone found their seats, Crystal placed a plate of breakfast in front of Jimmy Horne, gently smiling.
