"You—"

The man paused, feeling extremely intimidated. However, he saw that she was tied up and calmed himself down.

If she weren’t pretty, he’d have slapped her for her feistiness just now. At the same time, it sent shivers down his spine, all the way to his crotch.

Wasn’t taming feisty little girls the best thing?

Naia seemed to have sensed his thoughts, and her eyes glinted in a murderous light. However, she did not do anything for now. She wanted to know their intentions more.

It was when people believed they had won that their guards were lowered the most.

Seeing her quiet down, the thief cackled and signaled the others to start their movements. The thieves then grabbed the twins, pulling out their knives.

The sharp things were pushed against their necks, and the men’s arrogant eyes stared directly at the old woman. "We got all your grandchildren now, as you can see. Still not giving?"

Grandma was struggling from their hold, eyes filled with tears, especially when seeing her grandchildren’s lives in danger. They could hear the muffled sounds of her screams, and it was then that the men remembered they had shoved fabric into her mouth.

One of the thieves took out the cloth to let her speak. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" she screamed. "LET THEM GO!"

"Letting them go is not impossible," the thief leader said. "Where are your treasures?!"

"Treasures? I don’t have—"

Grandma’s words died down when she realized something. Her eyes immediately constricted, followed by a hot but hollow sensation in her chest.

Similarly, Naia’s eyebrows rose, though she was much less emotional than her grandmother.

Wow, her aunt actually decided to send goons to them.

Did she not think they wouldn’t report her to the police? OR that she could bury whatever they report?

HEH.

Even if they weren’t planning on killing them, didn’t she think her own mother could get a heart attack from the shock?!

Not to mention, she could sense blood in these people’s hands. They had definitely killed people before!

Regardless of circumstance, it was disgusting!

Michie was even more selfish than she thought, and Naia was determined that she and her grandmother would cut ties off with her.

Grandma would never exchange her children with treasure so, if she could, she would give the treasure back. Sad for everyone, every and each one of those treasures was gone.

Naia watched as Grandma almost looked at her by instinct. After all, the treasure was on her. The old woman swiftly looked away after realizing her own movement, afraid that she’d get targeted by the thieves instead.

At the same time, the old woman was probably thinking of how to ask her to release the items. But what could she do if she had lost them already?

Naia didn’t want her grandmother to think that she was willing to sacrifice her cousins for some jade.

"You have knives, plastic bags, and the like," she said. "You weren’t planning on letting us go at all, aren’t you?"

Her words made her family members shiver and pale even more, realizing that whether or not they gave it, they were in trouble. Naia saw this and nodded, judging it to be the time to make a move.

Getting out of the hold wasn’t difficult. She had loosened it up even before they got dragged out to the living room.

Meanwhile, the men pushed the blade closer to the twin’s necks, making them cry, faces filled with tears and snot.

The robber holding Naia, on the other hand, gripped her tighter, wanting her to cry as well. When he saw her face was as indifferent as before, he frowned and raised his own dagger to touch her neck.

But then he froze, realizing that he couldn’t move his knife! "Wha—"

He looked down and saw the pretty hand holding his in place, pushing it just enough so he couldn’t push the knife any closer to her neck. She looked leisurely too, like she was pushing away a little baby.

Then, he belatedly realized that she wasn’t tied up anymore!

His pupils constricted, and he was about to yell at the others to be alert. How could Naia actually let him. With a stretch of her arm, she pulled him down with him, pushing his face on the ground and his arms bent awkwardly behind his back.

BAM!

"AH!!!"

The rest of the men flinched and they whipped their heads to her. They were shocked at the sudden turn and didn’t react immediately. Their reflexes just made them throw down the three hostages, and then they rushed towards this ’unexpected element’ to take her down!

Hans and Linlin moved forward, trying to stop whoever was closest to them, and so did Grandma. Naia was actually prepared to move a long time ago.

Just as they reached her, however, the door burst open.

WOOF! WOOF!

"Who are you!?" the newcomers yelled, except the voices were...childish and totally lacking in authority.

The adults looked over by the door to see three tiny kids and a dog.

"..."

"Yaya, Mimi, Riri!" Grandma exclaimed. She was about to tell them to run when the dog rushed over and bit the leg of whoever was closest to the door.

"AHH! YOU—"

"LET GO!"

"DAMNIT!"

The man’s eyes were red in anger as he tried to shake it off. When he tried to kick it against a table, it would let go and then proceed to bite the other leg.

"AGHHHHH! FUCK!" he screamed. Then he looked at his hand, belatedly remembering he had a weapon. The time from the door opening to his attempt to kick the dog was only a few seconds, after all.

It so happened that the dagger was still snug in his hand. He raised his arm, ready to stab the dog.

"Kyaaa!" Linlin screamed while the others’ gasped and cried for Toto.

Before the man connected the blade, however, he found himself flying smack at the opposite wall. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

BANG!

Everyone gaped, unsure what had happened, until they turned to look at where the man had been standing before. What they saw were dainty feet that, it seemed, caused someone to fly by a few meters.

Naia, whose shapely legs were still raised, sneered as she put her feet down. Her green eyes were fixed on the thieves, looking at them as if they were corpses.

"Trash."
