Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1576 - 1573: Retribution
"You say I’ll suffer a calamity? Say it again!" The young man squinted, his face turning stern.
Actually, Lin Tian was quite surprised. Fortune tellers rarely speak ill of their clients, as most people deceive themselves and don’t want to hear bad news. Essentially, spending money on fortune-telling is just paying to hear something nice.
But the middle-split man said it, and the master shook his head in disappointment, sighing, "Good medicine tastes bitter, and the truth is harsh on the ears."
"You fraud, how dare you curse me and put on an act here! Watch how I teach you a lesson!" The young man was furious, stood up with a whoosh, and was about to lay into the middle-split man.
The train’s broadcast suddenly came on: "Ladies and gentlemen, the train is approaching Jingshan Station. Passengers getting off at Jingshan Station, please collect your belongings in advance. As the stop is short, those not getting off, please remain on the train to avoid missing your ride..."
The train announcement was repeated, and then in English, several times. This was the usual station announcement, but the young man, about to raise his hand, froze.
"Jingshan Station? Where did Jingshan Station come from? They didn’t mention Jingshan Station when I bought the ticket." He muttered to himself and then confusedly took out his ticket.
Upon seeing it, the young man yelled out, "Damn... I got on the wrong train..."
Everyone was stunned, and those who were curious leaned over to see his ticket, then chuckled softly: "Indeed, just one word off from the final destination, haha..."
Many people had gloating smiles. They found the young man too arrogant, and now he was getting his comeuppance. Lin Tian looked at the middle-split man, who also looked back, a faint smile in his eyes.
Lin Tian figured it out then. When looking at the ticket earlier, the middle-split man must have seen that the young man’s ticket was wrong, but because the young man was so disrespectful and arrogant, he deliberately kept silent, giving the young man a lesson.
The young man seemed to remember something, his face changed, and he turned to the middle-split man: "Did you know my ticket was wrong all along?"
"I wanted to tell you, but you didn’t give me the chance." The middle-split man shrugged, laughing gloatingly.
This smile provoked the young man, already in a foul mood, and his anger boiled over, his expression twisted with curses as he recklessly charged at the middle-split man to vent his anger.
The young man was likely not new to fighting, delivering a hard punch towards the middle-split man’s abdomen. However, the middle-split man slightly leaned aside, dodging the punch. The young man stumbled, unbalanced, and rushed past him.
The middle-split man had been reading Lin Tian’s fortune, and behind him were the seats of Lin Tian and the Xiao sisters. As the young man rushed past, he headed towards Miss, who was sitting by the aisle.
Miss’s expression turned slightly cold, and with a flick of her finger, a small paper ball hit the young man’s knee. Lin Tian also made a move, causing the young man to topple into the aisle, landing with a thud on the carriage floor, face first.
No one saw Lin Tian and Miss make a move, assuming the young man fell because he rushed too fast. The young man struggled up.
Upon seeing him, Xiao Manxuan nearly burst into laughter. The young man’s face was bruised, with blood trickling from both nostrils, looking utterly wretched.
"I told you, you’d have a calamity," remarked the middle-split man calmly. Upon hearing this, everyone remembered his earlier words, and their opinions of him turned to admiration.
At this point, several people hurried into the carriage: two male train police officers and a female attendant in a uniform with black stockings. The young man, seemingly dazed from his fall, was further aggravated by his bloody nose and wanted to retaliate.
Seeing the escalation, the two male police officers made their move, swiftly pinning the young man to the ground, restraining him tightly against the carriage floor.
"Bravo." The onlookers cheered, praising the officers’ quick reflexes, feeling more secure with such capable police on board.
"Miss, this troublesome young man got on the wrong train," a passenger whispered to the female attendant.
The female attendant walked up to the young man, saying, "Please show your ticket."
The young man kept shouting, "Let me go," ignoring the attendant. The male officer grabbed the ticket from his hand and checked it.
"Oh boy, he really did get on the wrong train." The officer was quite surprised. The train’s ticket-checking system is very strict, and such mistakes might happen to one in tens of thousands. Unexpectedly, it happened to the young man.
"I want to get off, I want to get off..." The young man finally remembered the upcoming stop and wanted to get off and return.
The male officer, however, said, "There’s no direct train from Jingshan County to Xikou City. To return, you’ll need to take a bus. But before that, I’ll need you to make a report at the station’s police office."
"I won’t go to the police office; I still need to meet someone I know online! Let me go!" The young man struggled again.
"Meeting someone online doesn’t give you the right to cause trouble on a train. Behave yourself." The male officer said coldly.
The young man was taken away, and no one sympathized with him. Instead, the crowd became more interested in the middle-split man because he had predicted the young man’s "calamity."
After the young man left, the middle-split man and the short-haired young man returned to their seats.
The young man curiously asked, "Master, did you really predict he’d face a calamity?"
The "master" smiled and shook his head, "No need to predict. With his arrogance and getting on the wrong train, someone like him is bound to make trouble. It’s only natural he’d end up with a bruised face."
"Master, you’re truly wise and insightful. I admire you greatly; I’ve learned a lot," the short-haired young man said sincerely.
Xiao Manxuan also praised, "Lin Tian, this uncle is amazing."
"Not at all, not at all. To have a clear understanding of worldly affairs is a type of knowledge; mastering human relationships is akin to literature. I’ve just traveled the Jianghu for a long time and seen much." The middle-split man humbly replied, bowing to Lin Tian, the three Xiao sisters, and the short-haired young man, though his scholarly language sounded somewhat out of place.
Lin Tian and Miss exchanged a glance, noticing the "master" seemed oddly cautious with them, despite freely conversing with others. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
However, Lin Tian didn’t dwell on it. He thought perhaps it was just the way people from the Jianghu interacted.
The train didn’t stay at Jingshan Station for long before continuing onward. After some time, the voyage station announcement sounded again, reminding passengers to disembark.
Lin Tian was resting his eyes when he heard some faint sounds. He opened them to see the middle-split man getting up to leave, not waking the sleeping passengers.
He faintly heard the middle-split man’s soft voice, "The King’s Aura, to witness it is a blessing; I am content in this life..."
