"Tsk... tsk... You are truly troublesome. But since you don’t want to come out, I will drag you out myself."
Ronan’s voice was filled with arrogance as he walked up to the box.
Ivy couldn’t see anything. However, her nose was still sharp and picked out the disgusting scent of roses.
Her body turned cold, and she curled up slightly to shield herself. The next second, the box was harshly kicked, and Ivy fell to the ground.
She rolled out of the box. Her naked body was presented in the full glory of the lecherous men eyeing her.
They chuckled,
"Even though she is all skin and bones, she is free to use. Boss, before handing her, can I have a turn?"
This was Mark. The 29-year-old Mark who had already seen the worst and dabbled in the worst.
Ivy froze, fear gripped her heart, and she shook her head,
"No! Please... please spare me! I won’t run away again! Please! Please leave me..."
Ronan, seeing Ivy’s pale skin and chest, chuckled,
"Hey, come on, don’t beg so soon. We might have mercy, but what about others? By running away, you have angered the base leader. Drag her away. Maybe the base leader will be thrilled and let us have her."
Ivy shook her head and backed away. But a hand shot up from behind and pulled her hair.
"Ahhh! Please! Please have mercy! That monster will violate me! He will r*pe again! Please..."
.....
A tear slid down Ivy’s corner of eyes and she sobbed softly.
"Please... please spare me...He will r*pe me again..."
Her body trembled, and her complexion had turned deathly pale.
Silas’s eyelashes fluttered before he slowly opened his eyes. Ivy’s scared voice forced Silas to shake off his fatigue, and he sat up with difficulty.
"Ivy? What happened?" Regaining his strength, Silas saw a scene that left a deep impression on his mind.
Tears streamed down Ivy’s eyes; instead of the translucent salty water, the tears were of blood.
Whatever sleepiness had stayed vanished, and Silas instantly moved from the back seat to the front seat. He pulled Ivy onto his lap and heard her desperate plea,
"Help me... no... please... don’t... don’t do it... It hurts... it hurts so much..."
Silas’s throat tightened, Ivy’s heart-wrenching plea made his heart ache.
"Ivy? Ivy! Wake up! Wake up!"
It was only when he patted Ivy’s forehead that Silas realized that she was burning up.
Silas opened the compartment and took out a fever medicine; taking out a plastic spoon and water, he crushed the tablet in the spoon and poured water.
Once the solution turned liquid, Silas fed it to Ivy, who drank it without resistance.
With a cloth, he wiped away the blood tears; he was so careful and gentle that Ivy could feel it too.
Even if she was trapped in a nightmare, she craved the warmth.
To say that Silas wasn’t scared would be a lie. He could only constantly call Ivy in the hopes that she would wake up.
"Ivy? Ivy! Wake up!" Ivy heard a familiar voice, and the monster in front of her started to fade. Finally, she opened her eyes.
Blank.
She couldn’t see anything.
Panicked Ivy looked around herself. She could feel herself wrapped in a warm embrace.
"Calm down. I am here." Silas’s steady, masculine voice broke the panic Ivy was feeling.
Slowly, her vision returned. At first, it was just shapes, then slowly they regained color, and finally Ivy could see everything.
Seeing Silas, Ivy hugged him.
At this moment, she couldn’t care about distance or the jinx. She was scared, and her body trembled.
Silas froze when he realized that Ivy was trembling due to fear, and his eyes turned cold.
The Ravencroft family members... must be killed. They must have abused Ivy again!
Suppressing his anger, he patted Ivy on the back and whispered in a gentle voice,
"I am here. Nothing will happen to you. I promise."
Ivy’s shivering stopped once Silas repeated his words. After a while, she pulled away from Silas and said,
"I am fine. I just had a nightmare."
With that, she was about to move away, however Silas didn’t let go. He held Ivy tightly and said,
"What did you see?"
"Nothing." Ivy’s evasive eyes spoke volumes.
"Ivy. If you don’t tell me, I will not be able to help you." Silas said his tight hold brought immense security.
For a moment, Ivy wanted to forget everything and just lean in. How nice and secure it would be... she won’t have to carry her burdens alone...
But...
’If you want to lose him forever, just continue to latch onto him.’
’Ivy... why can’t you learn your lesson? Do you truly want to see him dead? So selfish.’
The fear of what Silas’s fate would be if she continued to be near him scared her, and she struggled.
"Let go."
Silas sighed. He could feel the invisible wall standing between them again.
’Don’t force her. You will push her away.’
He can only let her go, and Ivy, regaining her freedom, went to the passenger seat. The atmosphere turned cold. Neither of the two people spoke.
Just then, Silas’s phone rang. Pressing on the receive button, Silas pressed the phone near his ears,
"Hello?"
On the other side.
Freya dialed Silas’s number, and once the call was connected, she asked,
"Thank god you are awake now. Whatever I am going to say now, don’t tell anyone."
Silas’s puzzled voice sounded, "Okay... but what is it?"
Freya interrupted Silas and said,
"Is Ivy with you?"
"Yes, she is," Silas answered honestly.
"Have you awakened your superpower?" Freya asked her next question.
"Superpower?" Silas was confused by Freya’s words. He had heard of superpower and had a general idea of what superpower meant, but why would his mother ask such a strange question?
Freya got the answer even though Silas didn’t answer her question; she asked her next question.
"Can you bring Ivy with you?"
