Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 34: Zombie Snake
Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Zombie Snake
Damian smirked, his previous aggressiveness vanishing. "As you say, master."
With that, he walked toward his room and locked himself in.
Thanks to the master, his family slept througout the Power Rain, otherwise they might have never knows about the side effects they might contract if they remained awake.
"Once I gain my superpower and rapidly increase my cultivation, I will be able to rule this apocalypse. I will kill Silas and Ivy with my own hands!" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
.................
Silas’s Apartment.
Silas pointed at the bathroom in his room and said,
"Go and take a shower. I also have some clothes in your size. Wear them."
Ivy froze, before her face turned a bit red from embarrassment. She nodded and took the clothes. Opening the drawer, she saw the neatly placed undergarments, and her face turned even redder.
There were some neutral colors and also some cute design panties..
Silas... was thorough in everything.
Biting her lips, Ivy took the undergraments, her heart was thumping so loudly that for a moment she thought, it would pop out any second.
Walking inside the bathroom, Ivy sniffed herself. To her relief, she wasn’t emitting any foul odor.
"So why did Silas ask me to take a bath?"
Anyways, it was still beneficial for her. After 7th years of the apocalypse, people only bath every 3 days.
With the arrival of water ability users, water wasn’t hard to obtain. However, it was still a bit pricey.
1 million water users can only provide water to 800,000 people.
As time passed, the water ability users died. And the number of water ability users waned, forcing others to implement the policy of bathing every three days.
After the shower, Ivy came out. She had worn a black straight pants and paired them with a white crop top. Her slightly wavy pink hair was let loose as water dripped from them occasionally.
Silas’s breathing hitched when he saw Ivy. Her pale skin complemented her pink hair, and the delicate yet refined features were hard to ignore.
"Um... do you have a hair dryer?" Ivy asked softly.
"Yes," Silas answered calmly.
What a joke, when he bought the apartment, he had brought all the necessary materials Ivy might need.
From hair dryer to straightener. From makeup to skin care. If Ivy looked closely she would realize that the items in Silas’s house were all the items she had wanted to buy before the apocalypse.
However, the current Ivy was from the future. She had long forgotten about her favorite skin care products.
After drying her hair, Ivy sat in front of Silas, who brought her a bowl of shrimp dumplings, Mapo Tofu, a bowl of rice and even Peking Duck.
Ivy froze as Silas’s voice echoed,
"I heard you wanted to eat these dishes. I made some extra. Eat up."
What was Ivy feeling at that moment? Joy? Nope.
Despair.
In her past life, she never ate anything delicious after the apocalypse. The Ravencroft family starved her, beat her, and made her do everything, and yet she listened to them.
They never bothered to give her any good food and only made her eat leftovers. Even dogs ate better than her.
By the time her real family had found her, food had become sacred. She could only eat the mutated beast’s meat with no seasoning.
However, Ivy was still grateful.
In this life, she casually said the names of those dishes, but Silas made them for her.
A salty water droplet fell into Mapo Tofu, before Ivy continued to eat as if nothing was wrong.
Silas heaved a sigh of relief. Thinking about how Ivy had to repeat her clothes and looked skinny, his heart ached.
Once Ivy finished her dinner, she asked Silas,
"What did you want to talk about?"
Silas didn’t beat around the bush and told her in a serious voice,
"Your predictions came true. My uncle has to do an evacuation mission in the suburban area. I just wanted to ask if you want to add anything that might help my uncle later?"
Ivy’s expression turned grim before she tapped her fingers on her knees.
What had happened... what had exactly happened...
Stephen went near one of the trees and died mysteriously. The survivors said that they heard a slithering voice, like that of a snake.
To inspect, Stephen had walked closer to the tree and died.
"My uncle suspects that a snake might be behind everything. However, we still want your confirmation before reaching any conclusion."
Ivy thought for a while before shaking her head,
"No... it is not the work of a mutated snake."
No such thing as a mutated snake ever appeared. Zombie snake did appear. However they were mainly found in Amazon forest and some other dense forests.
How could a zombie snake appear suddenly in the suburbs area? And if it appears, then why did it only attack Stephen and wait for other soldiers to die in the hands of other zombies?
Stephen was powerful enough to kill a snake on his own, so the possibility seemed even more outrageous.
’Hm... Either Stephen encountered something very dangerous, hence he didn’t even put up a fight, or... he didn’t get the chance to put up the fight.’
Ivy kept on feeling as if she was forgetting something.
Silas heaved a sigh of relief, hearing Ivy’s words. Maybe they were thinking too much?
"It might be a zombie snake," Ivy said in a calm voice. Though it lacked certainty, Ivy still felt it was important for her to mention it.
"Zombie snakes." It was the first time Silas had heard that term.
Ivy leaned back slightly, her gaze distant as her mind sifted through fragments of memory.
"Yes," she said slowly, fingers tightening around the edge of her chair.
"A mutated snake is just that, an animal twisted by the virus, stronger, faster, more vicious. But a zombie snake... It’s something else entirely.
A corpse, reanimated by the virus, driven only by hunger and instinct. It’s harder to detect. It doesn’t breathe, it doesn’t hiss. It waits. It waits until you’re too close to run."
