Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 360: Anyone Who Falls in Love with Her Will Die
Adam’s words made Maxwell’s lower abdomen throb with pain. She held her stomach in agony, looking at Adam with disappointment: "Adam, even if my love for you is more, you can’t treat me like this, spoil our child. Who pushed me back then? Who made me like this? Adam, don’t be heartless. If it weren’t for you, how would I have ended up like this?"
"You brought it on yourself. I had nothing to do with May Morgan; you insisted on creating trouble!" Talking about the matter frustrated Adam endlessly. Maxwell had been pestering him about it, and now he was utterly fed up with this woman.
Audrey Vance couldn’t stand by and watch, so she stepped forward to speak to Adam, while gently nudging Maxwell to leave: "Adam, regardless, Maxwell is pregnant now, can’t you be a little more considerate?"
After that, she pushed Maxwell out of Adam’s hospital room. Maxwell had been startled by Victor Grant earlier, and now she was furious with Adam. Her abdomen throbbed painfully, making her sweat all over, unable to endure any longer.
"Maxwell, you look so unwell, let me take you to see a doctor?" Audrey saw Maxwell’s pale complexion, realizing she was upset, quickly called for help to escort her to the doctor.
"Aunt, what did I do wrong? Why does Adam treat me this way? Why?"
Maxwell thought of Adam’s attitude toward her and couldn’t help but cry out loudly.
Audrey looked at Maxwell with a bit of pity and quietly comforted her, "It’s not your fault. Adam is just too sentimental. Why did he stay with May for five years, and such feelings can’t be severed easily?"
"But he married me now, and I am pregnant with his child..."
"You’re still young, and you don’t understand a man’s heart. To a man, only the beloved woman’s child is as precious as a gem. Other women, forget it, nothing worth mentioning..."
Audrey was a living example. When she married Oscar Owens, was it true she couldn’t bear children? No, it was because Oscar felt guilty about remarrying, so he set the rule early on. He could marry Audrey, but he only acknowledged Adam as his child.
This is a man’s love and ruthlessness. The children they favor and cherish can only be those of the women they long for, while others never meet their standards.
Unwilling, Maxwell clenched her fists tightly, gritting her teeth as she said, "I don’t believe in fate, Aunt. I believe things are in our hands. As long as May is no longer in this world, Adam will eventually come back to me!"
Audrey was startled by these words. She quickly looked down at Maxwell but saw her eyes filled with hatred for May, and she couldn’t help but advise her in fear, "Maxwell, don’t do anything foolish. May is with Victor Grant now, you can’t touch her. Besides, your brother..."
"Aunt, I’m joking. I’m struggling to protect myself, where would I find the mind to deal with May?" Seeing Audrey seeming to favor May, Maxwell quickly gave a clever smile, pretending to joke.
But her hand clutching her abdomen remained tightly clenched with resentment.
May, for Adam, you must die, you must die!
After May left, Jacob Jennings walked in to see Vincent Vance, but found him looking worriedly at the door, unable to resist asking, "Do you have something on your mind, sir?"
Vincent glanced at him, nodding: "I can’t let May marry Victor Grant."
Jacob’s eyes quickly flickered with a complex light at these words: "Your health hasn’t recovered yet, it’s best not to think about these things for now."
Vincent glared at him without speaking, reaching out his right hand, trying to muster strength to sit up from bed, but his right hand felt numb and couldn’t exert much strength. He barely lifted a little before quickly lying back down. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
This simple back-and-forth action was enough to leave him drenched in sweat, his face pale.
Seeing this, Jacob quickly helped Vincent lie back down: "Sir, didn’t the doctor tell you? You’ve just woken up, and your body’s functions haven’t fully recovered. Pushing yourself is detrimental to your recovery."
Vincent shook his head in frustration, grabbing Jacob’s arm, trying to sit up again: "I must recover quickly; Victor Grant and May’s wedding is only a few days away. I can’t watch her marry someone else."
Jacob looked at Vincent with some sympathy, sighing slightly: "Even if you regain physical agility, the Vance Clan is in chaos now. How can we compete with the Grant Group?"
"That’s a later concern. Let’s take it step by step. How can I have the energy to do anything else if my body isn’t recovered?" Vincent knew the future was bleak, but no matter how bleak, he had to act, to take back the woman he loved.
Jacob didn’t agree with Vincent continuing his entanglement with May because he heard Mr. Landry’s words clearly. For Vincent’s future, he must make him realize May’s danger.
"Sir, have you ever thought that maybe your feelings for May aren’t as deep as you think?" Jacob helped Vincent sit up and suddenly looked at him profoundly and said.
Vincent looked at Jacob strangely, not understanding why he would ask such a foolish question.
He saw clearly how he and May went from acquaintance to love. Whether or not he loves May should be obvious to him, why say such things now?
"Jacob, what do you want to tell me?" Vincent looked at Jacob with displeasure and asked.
Jacob hesitated for a moment before carefully saying to Vincent: "Mr. Landry told me before, he has seen May’s past lives, he said..."
Seeing Jacob hesitating, Vincent’s heart tightened: "What did he say?"
"He said that May was under a love poison, which can make all men in this world obsess over it, but it’s not true love. You, Victor Grant, as far as May’s world goes, are just passing guests. She ultimately won’t belong to anyone. She has her destiny and her path."
Jacob’s words made Vincent’s face darken. He had long guessed she wasn’t ordinary, but because of his obsession and love for her, he had always hoped she was just a normal girl who would grow old and weather life’s storms with him.
"Don’t say any more. The words of this old man may not be completely credible." Vincent, conflicted, shook his hand at Jacob to signal him to stop talking.
