Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 337: Adam Owens’s Grandmother Makes Things Difficult
Audrey Vance hesitated a bit and glanced at her mother-in-law, softly advising her, "Mom, May Morgan didn’t do it on purpose, did she?"
"What do you mean not on purpose? I think she clearly did it on purpose. This woman is full of bad omens; as soon as our Adam Owens gets involved with her, nothing good comes of it. Didn’t my great-grandchild almost get miscarried because of her?"
After scolding, Adam’s grandmother felt it wasn’t enough to vent her anger and suddenly rushed over to slap May Morgan. However, this time, May was prepared. As her hand swung over, May quickly retreated two steps, dodging it.
Because the slap missed, Adam’s grandmother, over seventy years old with unsteady legs, nearly fell to the ground after missing May Morgan. If not for Audrey’s quick reaction, grabbing her in time, she would’ve surely made a fool of herself.
"You little brat, you dare to dodge?" Adam’s grandmother couldn’t maintain her dignity and pointed at May’s face, chastising her.
May Morgan rubbed the reddened side of her face, murmuring softly, "Of course I dodged when you were hitting me, I’m not stupid!"
"Damn it, you’ve harmed my grandson like this, and I can’t even hit you?" Adam’s grandmother, relying on having more people with her, turned and instructed the nearby servants, "Come, take this woman and drag her to the emergency room door to kneel. She gets up when Adam comes out."
Upon hearing these words, the servants quickly gathered around May Morgan and grabbed her arm, attempting to drag her toward the emergency room.
Still not appeased, Adam’s grandmother threatened May Morgan, "I warn you, if my grandson comes out fine, I won’t hold it against you. But if anything happens to him, I will make you pay back a hundred times over!"
May Morgan was also quite upset. Yes, Adam Owens got stabbed while fighting for her, and she’s guilty about it, but isn’t Adam’s grandmother taking things a bit too far?
"Grandma, isn’t this wrong? Adam being stabbed wasn’t my intention, so why should I suffer for it?" May shook off the servants’ hands and said unhappily.
"Why? You ask why? Because you’re a vixen, seducing our Adam without any reason! Just because of this, I can punish you, believe it or not?"
Adam’s grandmother flung off Audrey’s hand and haughtily snorted, "You still think you’re something? Dare talk to me like this? Before, with Vincent Vance backing you, I didn’t dare do anything to you. Now the Vance Family is done, and so is Vincent, who can you rely on now? Little brat, I’ve long wanted to deal with you. Just because you harmed Maxwell Vance’s unborn child like that, I won’t let you go."
Though these words were aimed at May Morgan, nearby Audrey Vance felt terribly upset hearing them.
May Morgan responded, somewhat speechless, "Grandma, Adam Owens is dear to your heart, and now he’s in the emergency room for saving me. I don’t blame you for saying these things, but I do mind you blaming Maxwell’s situation on me. Was Maxwell Vance innocent? If she were innocent, would she have drugged my child? Don’t say Vincent instructed her; without the daring and intent, regardless of the drugs, she wouldn’t dare poison the child in my womb. Now, she’s suffered the consequences, but isn’t your great-grandchild still safely inside her? And my child? My child was killed by her long ago. You don’t mention her faults but come after me; this is the compassion of someone who prays and chants?"
"You, insolent!" May’s utterly mocking words made Adam’s grandmother’s face turn green. At her age, how could she willingly endure such derision in public?
’Hold her down and make her kneel, and slap her mouth until she learns to speak properly!’ Adam’s grandmother shouted, decisively instructing the two bodyguards beside her.
The two bodyguards, strong and robust, swiftly held May Morgan down.
"Who the hell dares touch my wife!"
Just as May was about to be pressed onto the floor to kneel, Victor Grant’s arrogant voice suddenly came from the other end of the corridor, startling everyone.
Victor Grant quickly walked to May Morgan’s side in just a few steps, swung a punch at the bodyguard holding May’s arm, hitting the guard’s face directly, causing him to stagger several steps back.
"Damn, not even seconds without me, and you all take turns bullying my woman, huh?"
Victor Grant protectively pulled May Morgan behind him, swearing as he glared at Adam’s grandmother.
Adam’s grandmother hadn’t really seen Victor Grant before, but seeing his haughty demeanor, she assumed he was an unruly hooligan and angrily shouted, "Who do you think you are? Get out!"
"Get out, my ass, if anyone’s getting out, it’ll be you, old woman!" Victor Grant cursed fiercely at Adam’s grandmother, then turned to check May Morgan’s face.
Seeing a red mark on the left side of May’s face, his expression darkened, his displeasure visibly deepening.
"Damn it, old woman, you hit my woman?" Victor Grant, enraged, was about to explode. If it weren’t for May holding him back, he would’ve already returned the slap tenfold.
Adam’s grandmother had always valued her reputation over everything; she had never suffered such humiliation, and her body trembled with anger.
"Audrey, go, go call Oscar Owens and have him come over!" Adam’s grandmother, pale with rage, quickly instructed Audrey to bring her son over to deal with Victor Grant.
Oscar Owens was still out of town for a meeting; it would take some time for him to return. Besides, Audrey knew Victor Grant; despite his rough demeanor, the Grant family’s influence was something not even the Owens Family could compare with. Even if Oscar arrived, he may not be able to handle Victor Grant.
"Mom, that’s enough. This person is Justin Grant’s son!" Audrey pulled her mother-in-law’s arm gently, whispering to remind her.
The name Justin Grant was incredibly significant; even if Adam’s grandmother wasn’t worldly, she surely had heard of its fame.
Her face changed in shock, immediately turning to ask Audrey, "Is what you said true?"
Of course, Audrey wouldn’t dare lie. In this situation, lying wouldn’t serve any purpose.
"Yes, his name is Victor Grant, Justin Grant’s only son. I looked into it; we better not provoke him." Audrey quickly whispered another reminder.
Adam’s grandmother wasn’t foolish; she knew very well the difference between the Owens and Grant families.
"May Morgan, given Adam’s former feelings for you, I’ll overlook this today. But I hope you won’t harass the Owens Family anymore in the future." Adam’s grandmother’s eyes shifted, quickly changing her tone.
