You Think I Won't Talk?-Chapter 680
It was odd. He was usually always on time or even earlier. It was never for a long time that I had to wait for him... but if I remember correctly while I made sure to reject Niccolò’s insinuations today...
— Pristina, why don’t I come to your chambers and continue our conversation after this wonderful dinner? —
— Prince Niccolò, I appreciate it, however, I believe it is inappropriate as my suitor is someone else. We should not spend time alone and, what is more, my chambers are not for visitors at these hours. At much, a brief greeting at the gates would be allowed. —
— Once in a while will not hurt~ besides, the night is young, more so in winter. I heard your suitor will be training until late tonight so he probably won’t say goodnight to our beautiful Pristina. It would be a pity if you waited in boredom for a brief greeting from this suitor you are so adamant on reminding me of. —
— His highness would send word if that is the case. He would also respect the chambers of his lady. I will not feel bored even if he does not show up to wish myself a goodnight. —
— My~ I am not saying he would not inform you... Well~ if you change your mind know that I will come to get you at any time lovely ninth. —
— Escorting me back is enough... I appreciate the good wish, however, you seem to forget your guest is someone other than myself, Prince Niccolò. —
— Oh... lady Karina, you mean?... Lady Marianne, of course there is no doubt who is best to choose out of you two... in truth is there even a need to think there is another option for my attention to be placed other than you? —
— The prince is saying too much. The wine is affecting your mind. I will do as if no such a thing was told to me tonight. —
It was an awkward and persistent way for that prince to flirt with me. The way he tried getting closer unnecessarily was really a bad thing if seen by ill-intentioned people. He’s been more and more audacious lately even in front of Zel’s eyes and even Karina’s... luckily Zel was not around this time since he gets really mad at anyone who crosses the line.
But... putting that aside...
’... could he be washing up...?’ — A little intrigued, knowing he would be quite in need of a bath if he really had to attend training tonight as Prince Niccolò said, I stood up. Pacing around while the secret passage seemed to call me... as if tempting me to give it a try. — ’... h-he wouldn’t get mad if I surprise him... right?’
The problem was my knights though. Zel and I had a hunch that they might already know we started to meet in secret again, but as they have not mentioned it directly... — ’No. I should take care of them first. Let’s minimise the problems.’
"Vitor, Theo, could you wait outside? I want to take a nap since he’s taking his time... knock once he arrives."
"However..." — Vitor doubted, being immediately intercepted by Theo, who I know has a little dislike for Zel. — "Let’s do as the lady says. He’s taking longer than he should so she might as well make him wait a while."
"... Alright. We will announce him if he comes."
"Haha... thank you."
’To think he used to act like a bookworm with no social skills...’ — I thought as I saw them get out of my room. Admiring how Theo had turned harshly honest and left behind his occasional stutter after becoming more comfortable with us. Nevertheless, I appreciated this nature of his at times like these.
I used the passage right away. I wanted to hide and surprise him so, probably, my powers would do wonders as he had told me before. But the most important thing was...
’Alright... A glimpse. At least a glimpse... a little will do... a glimpse of that firm body... Ouf! Those arms... I can still remember how good they looked when I went to see him train~’ — I thought, focusing on my mission when doing something uncalled.
I have been trying my best so he would indeed lose his mind whenever we started getting affectionate. I would actually taunt him... even invite him in a seductive way but he would still somehow convince me I should not take it too far. It was only last night that I actually stopped him even though he was so ready... only because it seemed as if I was taking advantage of a condition that made him weaker...
’Still... The fact that he’s counting on me to restrain him makes me feel guilty that I want him to fail... a bad woman I am... the horny one seems to be myself now...’ — I admitted as I arrived. Not feeling guilty enough to not cross that secret door that would let me find a good view if lucky. — ’... alright... let’s sneak in and surprise him... if he’s still weird like yesterday I might not tempt him...’
Almost malicious, I opened the secret door walking silently into his chambers to ultimately see... an unwanted scene.
"What is it...? Aren’t you going to touch me?" — Her hand... traced the neck and his nude chest while on his mattress. Making me dizzy... for even though I refuse to believe it, it looked just like a scene I read in a novel I now hate to even think about.
"..."
His silence and how he didn’t brush her off while looking at her so intensely... eventually must have dismissed the powers I own, for suddenly, his head turned to look where I stood. Opening his eyes widely and standing up alongside the woman he had below.
"?!... l-lady Marianne... h-how did you... Your Highness, I am sorry... We have—"
"Anne..." — Shaking his head, he called my name. But all I could do was remain quiet as Karina rushed to pull back on the upper part of her dress.
"L-lady, please do not think badly of us! We are-... sigh... it is best I leave you alone to talk..." — Karina, touching him again while using him as a shield, said and only this time he stepped away, growling at her instead of killing her as I hoped he would do this time.
"LEAVE. NOW."
With lowered head, she paced away at his distance... not forgetting to meet my eye and smirk at me as she obeyed him.
— He’s mine not yours. —
... is what I somehow heard her say with her walk...
