"Ah~~~~~~~" Pannis was crouching steadily atop the spiked metal fence of No. 6 Fox Street, with a messy head of blonde hair, rubbing his sleepy eyes, he yawned expressively and muttered groggily, "What a peaceful world we have."

After returning with Vivian late at night, he had only lain down for a few hours when he had to get up to join Vivian, who had slept all the way, to continue teaching their class at school. It was not until school let out at noon that he managed to greet Lina and Catherine, who had already returned home, before collapsing into bed until the next day.

In the early morning, a well-rested Pannis quietly got out of bed and stealthily slipped out to squat on top of the fence by the front door, waiting for the girls who were out for their morning run to pass by.

"Ah~~~" Pannis couldn’t help but yawn again, resting his chin on his knees, his eyes scanning around in a daze: "Cute girls, where are you? Come out quickly."

The patter of footsteps, as they did every day, disrupted the morning calm of Fox Street from the end of the street.

"Take that." A branch flew out of the morning mist, spinning in mid-air. It traveled a distance of almost ten meters and hit Pannis right in the forehead. With a wail, his head tilted back and his body slowly toppled backward off the two-meter high fence and onto the lawn inside.

"Ha ha, that’s what you get for scaring me before," retorted Lily, the girl who did the morning paper delivery, finally getting her own back for the previous fright she’d had. Feeling jubilant, although she was only about fifteen or sixteen years old and not particularly pretty, she radiated the unique vigor of a young girl. After seeing Pannis fall flat and remain motionless, she felt concerned and approached him, asking, "Hey, demon uncle, are you okay?"

"I~am~in~trouble~I~am~dying~" Pannis suddenly lifted his head, his eyes rolled back as he protruded his tongue, his hand coming through the bars and landed on Lily’s shoe: "Please take me to the nearest temple for first aid."

"Ah, ah, ah, ah." Lily was scared again and jumped up on the spot, leaving another footprint on Pannis’ hand before she turned and ran off: "Damn it, you frightened me again, you wait, I will get my revenge!"

"First take me to the temple for rescue." Pannis mourned despairingly, his face pressed against the fence, one hand gripping the fence bars and the other tried to reach out through the fence until Lily’s figure disappeared into the morning mist. The outstretched hand then fell in despair. His body collapsed motionlessly on the ground once more, looking pitiful.

"Rattle, rattle," the sound of metal rubbing echoed, as Catherine emerged from the mansion in her habitual chainmail armor. Vivian and Lina walked behind Catherine, the trio chatting and laughing as they followed the gravel path towards the mansion’s front gate.

"Help, I need healing." Pannis wriggled to the edge of the path, half of his body leaning over, extending a hand pleadingly towards the three girls.

"Thump," Catherine, completely ignoring Pannis, stepped directly onto Pannis’ outstretched hand with her armored boot, adding insult to injury.

"Hmm? I feel like I stepped on something dirty." Catherine exclaimed surprisedly, deliberately standing on her tiptoes on Pannis’s hand and spinning around to observe her surroundings: "But there’s nothing here."

"Probably stepped on a bug." Vivian continued with her dazed expression and calmly said: "Don’t mind him."

"It must be a bug." Lina also nodded solemnly and moved forward with Vivian as if nothing had happened. As it turns out, both of them walked right over the half of Pannis that was lying on the path, seeming to not notice at all.

"Be careful on the road." Catherine opened the gate for the two girls and reminded them with concern: "This is the last day of school, so come back early. Come home for lunch and let’s go to the Guild together in the afternoon to see if there are any good missions."

Lina sighed helplessly, "Sister, you’ve done enough. Now you are acting like an old grandma sending her granddaughter to school."

"Hey," Catherine glared, "I’m worried about you guys."

"Okay, sis," Vivian waved: "We’re not going to the Guild this afternoon. Have you forgotten? Lina and I are going back to the ruins in Angus Village in the afternoon."

"Oh right," Catherine smacked her head, recalling: "I forgot all about it. Do you really need to leave this afternoon? I think you guys can leave early tomorrow morning."

"We’ll arrive at eight or nine in the evening if we leave in the afternoon, and we can start researching the goblin ruins tomorrow. If we leave tomorrow morning, we won’t arrive until the evening, it will be too late to start, and we’ll have to wait until the day after. You know, I can’t wait for a single day, I’m just so eager to see those goblin ruins." Vivian explained.

"Fine then, leave in the afternoon," Catherine nodded, "But I don’t need to accompany you guys?"

"No, don’t you have a ball to attend tomorrow evening?" Vivian reminded: "Besides, there’s no danger there anymore anyway, Lina and Pannis took care of all the dangerous creatures, so you don’t need to come with us."

"Alright then." Catherine nodded: "Be careful on your own."

"By the way, there’s more," Vivian informed, "We’ll be taking a roundabout trip back and will be gone for two to three weeks. Lina is accompanying me to take care of some personal matters, we won’t be gone long."

Pannis, who had been playing dead on the ground, seemed to understand something. He raised his head and gave the two girls a mysterious look. After spending a few days alone, Lina knew that Pannis was very sensitive and has a vivid imagination. Knowing that Pannis might guess what she and Vivian were off to do, and seeing Pannis suddenly raising his head, she subtly gave him a threatening look. Pannis had no choice but to shake his head helplessly and lie back on the ground playing dead.

Catherine looked at Vivian with suspicion in her eyes, and said doubtfully, "I feel like something isn’t right here. You two aren’t getting involved in something dangerous, are you?"

"Of course not, we’re not about to go looking for trouble." Vivian waved her hands dramatically to show her disagreement: "There will be absolutely no danger, don’t worry about it. Besides, Lina is with us."

"That makes me worry even more." Catherine, albeit anxious, finally agreed: "You two, be careful and come back as soon as you’re done. At the very least, send us a message through the local Guild to let us know you’re safe. Don’t keep us worried. Also, take care when you head out. The weather is getting cold, remember to wear thick clothes, and be careful not to get sick. If you encounter danger, prioritize safety over cupidity. If it gets overwhelming, rush back immediately. We can deal with it together later, also..."

"Stop." Lina raised her hands in front of her, calling for a halt: "If you continue talking, Vivian’s going to be late. Don’t worry about us, we are pretty strong now. Among humans, the maximum number of individuals who could potentially pose us a threat one on one, would be around a thousand. Together this number will only decrease, so what’s there to worry about?"

"Who’s going to go one-on-one with you?" Catherine was quite annoyed at Lina for interrupting her lecture and muttered, "Human hearts are deceitfully wicked, filled with all sorts of plots and tricks. Unless you’ve reached the level of the Legendary, you’re still susceptible to harm."

Lina and Vivian, pretending not to hear Catherine’s worries, voluntarily helped her close the front door from outside. After waving through the gate and bidding farewell, they hurried away.

"Really now." Catherine harrumphed and turned around to face Pannis. "Am I nagging too much?"

Pannis continued to play dead and didn’t react at all.

"You’re still not getting up?" Catherine threatened, "I’m about to step on you."

Pannis stood up straight from the ground, shaking his right hand sluggishly: "That hurts."

"Just keep pretending." Catherine rolled her eyes and holding her temples, started complaining about Pannis. "Just how many times have I told you not to pester the girls who pass by, sitting on the fence? Why won’t you listen to me? Every single day, as long as you’re home, I have to deal with complaints from countless girls. Can’t you make things a little easier for me?"

"Actually, I’m not harassing any girls." Pannis widened his innocent eyes: "Really, I’m not."

"Oh? Really?" Catherine glanced sideways at Pannis and asked, "Then what are you doing?"

"Look." Pannis pointed at the sky and the surroundings, "It’s autumn, the weather is great, the air is refreshing, the environment is magnificent, and it’s the best time of the day - early morning."

"So what?" Catherine continued to look suspiciously at him.

"To treasure such a fine morning." Pannis spoke passionately, "I’ve decided to wake up early every morning, breathe in the fresh air from high up. It’s beneficial for my health."

"Is that so?" Catherine hummed with a smirk, "Then why don’t you explain to me how whistling at pretty girls who walk by, verbally harassing them, asking for their address and contact information, and throwing random weeds from the side of the road as flowers, relate to breathing fresh air?"

"Uh, actually, it does relate, um, yes. You see, those girls jog every morning, but their blood circulation during their run is not sufficient for fitness or body sculpting. Therefore, I decided to supplement their deficiency, to correct their mistakes." Pannis clenched his right fist, swinging it in determination. With his chest raised and head held high, he said confidently, "In order to fulfill this task, I am ready to sacrifice my sleep hours, waiting here early in the morning just to make them realize their mistakes and increase their running speed. Look, every time they run past this place, their faces turn red. That’s the proof of increased blood circulation."

"Is that how it is?" Catherine nodded: "Then I must’ve misunderstood you."

"Of course you did. But, I won’t blame you. Even if I am misunderstood by the world, I will firmly continue on this path of helping others. I will not step back, no matter how hard the obstacles." Pannis spread his arms to embrace the sky, shouting loudly.

"Very good, very good." Catherine’s voice gradually lowered.

"Huh, I sense danger." Pannis suddenly felt uneasy, looked around, and finally focused his gaze on Catherine: "Why did you draw your sword?"

"I’m just trying to see if you’d really face difficulties without retreating." Catherine smiled with sweet menace, gently rubbing the edge of her sword with her finger.

"Wait, wait." Pannis started retreating slowly, laughing nervously, "I think you need to calm down."

"I’m calm, really." Catherine suddenly swung her sword and shouted, "Stand still. I’m going to kill you."

"Wow, help!" Pannis turned to run, shouting while he fled, "Everything I said was true. Help!"

The morning at No. 6 Fox Street was, as usual, peaceful and harmonious.
