Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 348: Magnus Pierce
Leah slowly sat up, holding her waist and the bunch of keys in her hand, a slight tug at the corner of her mouth. She knew she had climbed this high branch. She should be happy, but her heart was uneasy.
Vincent Hawthorne, in the end, was mumbling as he held her: ’Tanya, why don’t you come back...’
And the name of his ex-wife, she had deliberately inquired about long ago.
She was called Tanya Sinclair.
...
The weather was getting cold. Tanya Sinclair immediately felt the piercing wind invading her skin through her collar as she stepped out. A black car was parked outside the door, Seth Yates waiting by the car door.
He nodded slightly towards the approaching Tanya Sinclair, took the medicine she had prepared, and opened the back door for her.
"Didn’t Ms. Sinclair tell the second young master?" Seth Yates glanced backward, asking with a faint smile, "Our President Pierce changed the meeting place with you, aren’t you afraid that you won’t return once you go?"
Tanya Sinclair looked back at him expressionlessly, "If you truly had the guts, you wouldn’t have waited until today. The coward isn’t Declan, it’s Zeke Pierce."
Seth Yates’ smile slightly froze but quickly returned to normal: "Ms. Sinclair is quite sharp with words, anyone who says you only bury yourself in research, I certainly wouldn’t agree."
"What are you? Whether you agree or not, what difference would it make?" Tanya Sinclair is not a sharp person, but towards Zeke Pierce and the people around him like Seth Yates, she has no good expressions to offer.
If it weren’t for them, Declan’s health wouldn’t have deteriorated to the point of exhaustion.
Tanya Sinclair silently tightened her grip on the medicine in her hands.
Using Declan simply to treat a leg is far from simple...
The car went further off the beaten path; Tanya Sinclair never knew Aris had such places. Passing through roads smoothed with polished rock slabs, at the end stood a manor.
Pierce Manor.
Tanya Sinclair got out of the car, following Seth Yates inside. Occasionally, a few servants moved silently, heads bowed, ghost-like as they passed by, eyes never glancing in their direction.
"Please go ahead, Ms. Sinclair." Seth Yates led Tanya Sinclair to the main building’s entrance, closing the door behind her as she stepped inside.
In the living room, besides Zeke Pierce, there was another person at the main seat.
Gray-haired yet strong-featured, wearing glasses, yet the eyes behind the lenses, already aged, were like a cold deep pool, unwelcoming and impossible to see the depths.
When Tanya Sinclair met those eyes, there was a brief illusion.
She thought, if Declan could grow old with her, maybe years later he would also have such eyes?
No, he wouldn’t. Declan’s gaze at her was never so cold.
His eyes were beautiful, and through them, she felt beautiful too.
Tanya Sinclair suddenly smiled lightly.
"It’s the first time, a junior dares to smile like that in my presence," Magnus Pierce slowly began, his voice deep and cold, betraying no emotion.
He is the biological father of Declan and Zeke Pierce.
The current true head of The Pierce Family.
"Elder Pierce," Tanya Sinclair slightly bowed.
Magnus Pierce sneered coldly: "What? Since you’re Declan’s woman, you dare not call me uncle?"
Tanya Sinclair raised her eyes to meet his gaze, unyielding, "With your actions towards Declan, you’re really undeserving of being called an uncle by me. Out of courtesy and manners, I address you as Elder Pierce. Otherwise, calling you a scoundrel would be equally fitting."
"Tanya Sinclair!" Zeke Pierce, usually a smiling tiger, couldn’t hold his temper and lashed out angrily, "I see Declan has indeed pampered you too much. That statement is reason enough for you not to leave through this door today."
Magnus Pierce raised his hand slightly, stopping Zeke Pierce.
He squinted his eyes, staring at Tanya Sinclair, "Are you standing up for Declan? Ha, interesting. Do you know what Declan... No, perhaps I shouldn’t even call him a person. Do you know what this beast has done recently?"
Tanya Sinclair lightly tossed the medicine she held onto the table.
