Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam-Chapter 912 - 189: Hello, Miss Mine
A new companion joined the tour group, and at first everyone thought it was a stray snake Old Ba picked up. After all, the border city in the Far West is located in a desert area, surrounded by wind and sand year-round, and due to its relatively underdeveloped urban construction, encountering wild animals isn’t that rare...
Until the seemingly small and clingy three-headed snake, under Bazatous’ command, crawled to the ground, the three heads swayed together for a moment, and spat out a miner several times its size right in front of Ethan.
No explanation was needed; facts speak louder than words. This was Bazatous’ best way to prove that the three-headed snake was transformed from a mine.
This time, even the well-experienced Lindong and Little Dark widened their eyes in shock.
Indeed, it’s not surprising Old Ba could easily bring forth a new species that none of the group had ever seen.
However, that miner, holding a shovel and looking a bit puzzled, struck Ethan with a strong sense of deja vu—it’s plainly a modded slave mine!
The three-headed snake only needed to stay there briefly, and miners would emerge from its mouth to mine before going back in.
"Please don’t misunderstand, it was the Celestial Father who saved us in the mine and provided us with shelter!"
The miner representative quickly explained to Ethan and the others.
While witnessing the Celestial Father’s power, they also witnessed another vastly different side of Him.
To almost everyone’s mind, summoning an Evil God is an act of self-destruction, even if they found that old promotional poster left by the Evil God’s Followers. Even after numerous ritual steps, it was noted in small, unobtrusive text that they couldn’t ensure what the Celestial Father would do after a successful ritual.
It all depends on the Celestial Father’s mood at that time.
From the moment the ritual was arranged, the miners were prepared to sacrifice their lives.
Yet, in reality, after Bazatous responded to the sacrificial ritual, not only did He save them from the overseers and guards, but He didn’t even harvest the two souls meant for sacrifice. After transforming the entire mine pit, He even urged others to leave this place.
"But wherever we go, we become wanted targets, so we pleaded with the Celestial Father to allow us to temporarily stay in the mine."
The miner representative continued to explain.
What surprised them even more was how approachable Evil God Bazatous turned out to be.
Even though His powers seemed terrifying, merely caressing an overseer’s face was enough to transform the entire mine into a creation of flesh, yet beyond that, the Celestial Father didn’t, as the Church Court preached, recklessly draw innocent souls into it, or destroy everything after fulfilling a contract.
Thus, seeds of doubt began to spread in the hearts of every miner.
If Bazatous was a harbinger of hatred, ready to destroy everything at any time... then what role did the Life Divine Teachings play in continuously slandering and reinforcing this impression in people’s hearts?
"No matter what, we have already changed our beliefs, may the Celestial Father guide us all."
After explaining, the miner representative clasped his hands together and voluntarily walked to the three-headed snake, being swallowed by its mouth that instantly expanded.
Though this scene looked frightening, he actually hurried back to rejoin his fellow workers in an unfinished card game.
Seeing isn’t necessarily believing.
This principle applied particularly to Old Ba.
Ethan couldn’t help but sigh, as he understood after listening to the miner representative’s story that even though this three-headed snake resembled a slave mine, it was essentially the opposite. It was after Old Ba blew up the mine containing the Saint’s remains that these miners, shouting "We are free," joined Him.
However, the same applies to the miners; they were fortunate to encounter the transformed Old Ba.
In Ethan’s view, Old Ba’s time as a professor at the academy changed Him a lot, leading Him to a renewed understanding of the human race, realizing just how fragile they really were. This made Bazatous much more gentle and careful when dealing with humans.
The Church Court’s previous portrayal of Bazatous wasn’t entirely slanderous; they merely distorted Old Ba’s motives.
In fact, Old Ba never intended to destroy this world, including the Kania civilization, which had become a Death Star. However, the level difference between humans and the Evil God was too vast, and in the past, even an inadvertent glance from the Evil God could instantly drive individuals within His sight into madness.
These miners were fortunate enough to encounter a version of Bazatous who had learned to control His own power.
"Let’s call it Miss Mine from now on."
Bazatous, following Miss Keroy’s naming style, decided on a name for His new pet, marking the first time He formally bestowed a name upon His creation.
This seemingly meaningless act brought Him a wonderful feeling, as though this newly born little snake was no longer merely a showcase of Bazatous-style artistry but had become a unique existence.
The seven-eyed Goddess cradled the three-headed snake in Her palm, observing it closely.
Though very faint, She indeed sensed the presence of a soul within the three-headed snake.
This indicated that His artistic accomplishments had reached a new level. Looking back at His creations over countless ages, even His most satisfying "backflipping limb cluster" didn’t possess the independence of a soul.
This change was brought about by interacting with Ethan.
