Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam-Chapter 874 - 173:
The black cat from Ethan's house!
Without a doubt!
Ever since Ethan started having a series of strange dreams, dreaming of another world and a sanctuary, his house's black cat began to act erratically too.
The reason it wasn't recognized at first was simple.
"Henry VI, there's only one reason for your defeat!"
The Other Shore said, "It's because these words were sung! I'll demonstrate it once for you, listen carefully, Hakimi nanbei lvdou, a xiga hayaku nailong, majili waya manbo."
With the melodious and pleasant song, Henry VI, lying on the ground, widened his eyes in disbelief. He witnessed an unbelievable scene—the power that originally belonged to him, the "spark" symbolizing the new god's power, became a weapon in the hands of the Other Shore. It was a long sword formed by swirling numerical codes, swiftly and decisively descending on his neck.
This was the last scene he saw.
Elsewhere, Ethan also witnessed the showdown between the Other Shore and Henry VI on the "LCD television."
As the sword descended, the screen plunged into darkness.
This open-ended conclusion left him anxious, even with a faint sense of guilt, knowing he had activated a memetic pollution-level weapon, but in this data-driven world, there was no simpler and more effective weapon.
The darkness hovered before Ethan, this was Little Dark's form in this world.
Ethan felt as though he was stepping deeper into the darkness, just like those believers who first set up summoning rituals to try to communicate with the Evil God, the situation could easily spiral out of control, and they would never know what kind of disaster losing control might bring.
But that's humanity.
They can only ever focus on the present, holding onto whatever they can grasp.
The vanished Kania civilization was like this, as is the current empire.
Ethan was naturally no exception.
He looked at Little Dark, who was like a wild horse off the reins, and instructed, "Remember the agreement between us."
"Got it, got it!"
Little Dark couldn't hide the cheerfulness in her voice, "I won't tell Lindong."
This was what Ethan was worried about, even he had dark secrets he didn't want his lover to know. At this moment, he had transformed into a terrorist, planning an indiscriminate terror attack in the God of Truth's database.
Ethan was deeply moved.
Seeing Little Dark ready to dash out at any time, he felt like a parent planning to secretly take a child out to play, and many times, the beautiful childhood memories of children often come from the phrase, "Don't tell your mom."
"Then... can I go play?"
A little clump of darkness bounced around in this data space.
"Go ahead."
Having received Ethan's permission, the shadow couldn't contain the essence of a troublemaker any longer. She zipped into the code arrays and disappeared without a trace. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
The God of Truth arrived a step too late, having encountered many obstacles along the way.
There were more and more things that could not be deciphered, the God of Truth discovered that Ethan had bypassed him to access records of Bazatous and the Kania civilization. After painstakingly "purifying" the data related to Bazatous, removing such pollution as "Old Ba" and "Ba Zi" from the lexicon, another highly sensitive area had issues.
While searching the database, the God of Truth made some unexpected discoveries.
For instance, the seven-eyed female figure used by Bazatous also originated from the Kania civilization. She was once hailed as the "Jewel of Kania," seen as the most beautiful woman in the eyes of the Kania people.
The God of Truth's consciousness instantly sensed another area possibly contaminated by Ethan, a place where connections with followers were established.
The God of Truth almost immediately realized that the link between Him and Henry VI was severed, replaced by a red-haired woman He had never seen before. This woman somehow replaced Henry VI in a manner even He was unaware of.
Why did Ethan do this?
Once again, the God of Truth attempted to understand Ethan's mindset.
Ethan should know that, for a "god," these little tricks were meaningless. If He wanted, He could always find someone to replace Henry VI, which could be one of Henry VI's remaining descendants or someone entirely unrelated to the Royal Family and nobility.
Since Ethan accessed data on Bazatous and Kania, he should understand that the form of civilization's existence must be dependent on the will of the god.
The once prosperous Kania civilization ultimately became a writhing mass of flesh, and if He wanted, He could always rewrite this plane into one devoid of life, existing only as a "Death Star" of metal and machinery.
But then, the God of Truth sensed something unusual.
Some things had been rewritten without His awareness.
The reason He did not notice at first was that compared to the events they were experiencing, the peripheral data seemed insignificant.
Songs, poems.
Pieces from different civilizations, recording different musical styles, His archive stored almost all known musical styles of the universe, even including those like the Kania civilization which had already perished.
Nevertheless, it wasn't long before the God of Truth felt a human emotion for the second time.
This time, it was panic.
He initially only noticed the tip of the iceberg, but when He examined closely, He found vital parts of all the music missing. Their lyrics were corrupted by some virus into the same form, and when He stepped into the hall of music data, He was surrounded by tens of millions of melodies.
—— "Hakimi nanbei lvdou!"
The contamination was far more severe than He had imagined, and after spending less than a minute in the contaminated hall, those words imprinted themselves in His mind like a stamp, and more terrifyingly, under these polluted influences, He had entirely forgotten the original lyrics of these music pieces.
Yet the contamination did not stop there. After infecting the entire music database, it spread to the domain of art and poetry creation.
If it continued, perhaps all text-related data might be assimilated!
He didn't have time for thorough inspections. The pressing task was to back up and isolate those critical data still untainted!
The God of Truth dared not linger in the contaminated music hall and headed straight for the most crucial area, which had been encrypted multiple times and was definitely not something He wanted Ethan to discover.
But this mysterious entity, Ethan, was too tricky, and He couldn't help but wonder if His encryption could truly block him.
The God of Truth suddenly conceived a hypothesis.
Perhaps Ethan was the virus itself.
He was the source of corruption throughout the universe, which might explain why His energy form was similar to but distinct from that of the Old Gods.
Hidden in the shadows, Ethan kept pace with the God of Truth.
The Bazatous assistant mentioned that the God of Truth had hidden those encrypted permissions, finding them would be tantamount to needle in a haystack by oneself.
This was the reason why he allowed Little Dark to spread contamination throughout the database.
It's similar to how computer users behave, when a computer is on the brink of being dragged down by a virus, every user would prioritize preserving their most important data, and in this aspect, the God of Truth was no exception.
The hurried God of Truth completely failed to notice the little shadow tailing Him, but when He rushed into the most vital part of the data space, the area known as the core, He finally realized something was wrong.
Someone followed Him in.
"Ethan."
His voice surprisingly sounded a bit weary.
The data here had not yet been contaminated, but Ethan's presence indicated that contamination wasn't far off.
"I had no intention of letting you see this."
The God of Truth said, "Remember, this was your choice."
