When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 958: Impersonating Faye
Nathan Xavier was taken aback by his questioning, utterly confused. What was going on? Who was being talked about?
"I know Gia is very beautiful, but..." Nathan had always had high standards, and Gia was the only woman who had ever touched his heart!
"But Adrian Lancaster, please understand clearly, Gia is the partner I brought, she is certainly the woman I care for!" He made his stance clear, aiming to curb the other person’s hopes.
Adrian Lancaster suddenly came to his senses, realizing that calling out "Gia" was not meant for his Faye...
He calmed down, acknowledging his loss of composure, "I’m sorry," and then turned around to leave.
Watching the tall and lonely figure of the man walking away, Gia felt an inexplicable discomfort, as if something was stuck in her chest.
But Nathan Xavier felt an even greater unease, sensing that someone was about to take something away from him.
Soon, Mrs. Rhodes entered. As soon as she stepped inside, she sensed the off atmosphere.
Nevertheless, she cautiously went to the cradle, softly picking up the child who was playing alone, and then silently left...
Leaving Gia and Nathan Xavier alone in the room, he nervously clutched her shoulders.
Gia snapped back to reality, stepping aside to sit down in a chair, though she had many, many doubts...
This house wasn’t unfamiliar to her; the feeling of familiarity when she got out of the car, and the camphor tree in the yard.
And she felt a strong bond with this child... It was as if some miraculous blood connection was at work, the child called her mom.
In her remaining memories, there was a baby... she was a mother.
The look in President Lancaster’s eyes when he saw her today, and how he repeatedly asked her who she was earlier?
Connecting all these details, she suddenly stood up, holding her skirt, and walked out without looking back, completely forgetting Nathan Xavier’s presence.
Nathan Xavier was anxious and hurriedly followed!
"No, I have to find him and get to the bottom of this. Who am I really? Why did he react this way?" Gia arrived at the banquet hall, her eyes meeting those of many guests, elegantly dressed, with glasses of wine in subdued conversation and laughter.
She scanned the room, searching.
As she made her way through the crowd, she finally spotted Adrian Lancaster, ignoring Nathan Xavier’s questions, and stepped forward determinedly toward him—
Only to see a girl in a light blue evening gown, beautifully dressed, rush up to Adrian Lancaster—
"Adrian, I’m Faye Turner! I’ve finally found you!" The girl’s face was expressive, her voice trembling—
"I lost my memory after falling into the water, and only recently have some memories returned, though not all, so I took the chance to sneak in today... Every time I go to your company, I’m stopped at the door. I’ve missed you and the child so much..."
The girl was dressed very prettily, standing pitifully before Adrian Lancaster, telling him with tears in her eyes.
As she spoke, she leaned her body toward him, attempting to embrace him.
The man took a step back, leaving her reaching for nothing!
Embarrassed, the woman quickly steadied herself, drawing the attention of nearby guests.
Adrian Lancaster’s expression was particularly unpleasant, having encountered countless women like this before, their appearance, demeanor, and the feeling they gave him, none resembled his Faye! They were all impostors of Faye.
Even from four or five meters away, Gia could feel the man’s imposing aura, and she suddenly didn’t dare to approach.
In her mind, she was processing the news she’d just heard—falling into water, amnesia? Faye Turner?
At this moment, Dustin Shepherd approached Adrian Lancaster.
"How could someone without an invitation get in?!" Adrian Lancaster turned, angrily questioning.
"Naturally, they can’t," Dustin Shepherd lowered his eyes, acknowledging his mistake, softly explaining, "but someone brought a companion." It was hard to stop.
"Clear them out," he ordered coldly. This was his grandfather’s birthday banquet and nothing should go wrong.
Upon hearing this, Gia suddenly felt a little panicked because she also didn’t have an invitation.
