When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 948: Liking Her More and More
Rhiannon Xavier got the information she wanted, her task for the day complete, so she didn’t linger here for long.
She ate two pieces of pastry, chatted briefly with her mother, and then found an excuse to leave.
Today, the sunshine was warm, bathing the courtyard and making the flowers appear more delicate.
Mrs. Xavier stood up and walked towards Gia’s place, wanting to chat with the young lady, play some chess, or invite her for a walk.
In her view, Gia seemed like an elegant lady, resonating with her own temperament.
The aura a person exudes is ingrained, unrelated to memory loss.
Mrs. Xavier thought Gia had a noble quality, surely not a girl from an ordinary family.
Mrs. Xavier strolled, admiring the beautiful scenery in the courtyard. When she arrived, Gia had just tasted a piece of osmanthus cake.
The aroma lingered, and she deeply enjoyed this flavor, savoring it slowly, wanting to learn how to make it herself.
"Gia!"
So, Mrs. Xavier didn’t disturb her and only softly called her name with a warm smile once she was close.
Beauty has its uniqueness; even the side profile while eating was stunning.
The girl seriously tasting the pastry turned her gaze upon hearing the call. Seeing her, her eyes immediately filled with a smile, "Auntie?"
"Is the pastry delicious?" Somehow, every time she saw her, Mrs. Xavier felt particularly joyful, the smile naturally spreading on her face.
"Yes, it’s delicious." Gia no longer felt restrained. In this family, everyone treated her sincerely well except for Rhiannon Xavier.
"The ratio of rice flour to glutinous rice flour is 2.5 to 1, creating this perfect stickiness." The deliciousness blossomed on Gia’s tongue. She savored it slowly, one bite at a time, focused and fully enjoying it.
Seeing the girl’s serious demeanor made Mrs. Xavier delighted, "Then take a guess, what else is in it?"
"Purple sweet potato powder, osmanthus honey." She almost didn’t hesitate, "It’s a traditional flavor, directly steamed, so soft, fragrant, and the sugar ratio is just right."
Listening to her calm response, watching her composed demeanor, Mrs. Xavier looked at her appreciatively, her gaze as rich as the aroma of wine.
She really liked her, a kind of joy from the heart.
"Auntie, have a piece too." While speaking, Gia had already handed a piece in front of Mrs. Xavier.
"Thank you." The middle-aged woman happily reached out, took it, and took a gentle bite, finding this plate particularly sweet.
"Gia, I heard from Nathan that he invited you to be his date?" Mrs. Xavier asked with a smile, looking hopeful.
The girl smiled a bit sheepishly, "Yes, I agreed to him, though I’m not sure if it’s right."
"Of course it’s right." The more Mrs. Xavier looked at her, the more suitable she felt she was for Nathan. If the Xavier Family could have such a daughter-in-law, it would be a blessing.
In short, she just felt a strong affinity with her.
"In the future, if Nathan wants to ask you for something, if you have time, help him out. This kid usually doesn’t like to trouble others." Mrs. Xavier encouraged her.
Gia simply suffered from memory loss but still had normal thinking, and could somewhat hear between the lines of what Mrs. Xavier meant.
This time she had agreed and wouldn’t stand him up, but maybe next time, she wouldn’t accept similar requests.
As the CEO of Xavier Group, finding a partner shouldn’t be difficult.
Gia agreed initially out of gratitude and kindness, without much consideration, simply to help.
But the more she knew about Rhiannon, the more she realized she didn’t want to get herself involved.
In a blink of an eye, Monday arrived, the morning seeming ordinary.
