When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 138: Mom Comes to Valoria
Luna hesitated, unsure of what to do.
She must have been silent for too long, because the voice on the other end of the line spoke again.
"It’s alright. When you’re able to eat a lot more, I’ll cook for you. Besides flower cakes, I can make plenty of other delicious things."
Luna let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, thank you, Mrs. Kingston."
After a pleasant chat, there was a pause, and Mrs. Kingston finally remembered the reason for her call.
"My son, Wyatt Kingston, has been stopping by the Fairchild Estate quite a bit recently. Have you seen him?"
"I have. The strawberries he sent over were delicious." During the Spring Festival, she had developed a particular craving for them.
She had thought only the first batch was sent by Wyatt, but she later found out that all the strawberries she’d been eating were from him. Wyatt even said they were freshly picked for the best taste.
Hearing this, Mrs. Kingston grew excited again. "You like the strawberries too? That’s wonderful! Oh, I really like you so much."
A girl who knew how to eat and appreciate good food—she was a real treasure.
"Yes, they were big, red, and delicious. They looked great in photos, too. Thank you, Mr. Kingston." Blaze’s gifts were one thing, but she felt she should also express her thanks.
"Not at all, not at all! I grew those strawberries myself. If you like them, I’ll have Wyatt bring you more when they’re in season again."
Having chatted with her for a while now, Luna was starting to get a sense of things.
Mrs. Kingston made all sorts of pastries, grew her own fruit, and could chat so frankly with someone she’d just met. She must be a person who was deeply loved, well-protected, and lived a carefree life.
Mrs. Kingston was overjoyed that the fruits of her labor were appreciated. Rather than just saying thank you, it was better to accept her gifts.
Understanding this, Luna stopped being hesitant and agreed generously. "Well, I’ll thank you in advance then, Mrs. Kingston. When Blaze has some free time, I’ll come visit you and see your garden and orchard."
"Wonderful, wonderful! You are most welcome." After she said that, Mrs. Kingston realized she had gotten sidetracked again.
"My dear, tell me the truth. Is Wyatt seeing someone?"
It was as if a clap of thunder went off in Luna’s head.
Mrs. Kingston continued,
"That boy has been acting strange lately. A little while ago, he was happy as a clam every day. Even when his father scolded him, he’d just take it with a smile. Then, for a period, he was completely down in the dumps. Sigh... But these past two days, he’s been cheerful again. It’s just not normal. He must be in love. They must have had a fight and broken up for a bit, and now they’ve made up. That has to be it."
Mrs. Kingston said all this in one breath, and all Luna could do was listen.
Wyatt and Lindsey’s situation... even Wyatt, the person involved and her own son, hadn’t told Mrs. Kingston. How was she supposed to tactfully refuse to answer?
Feeling cornered, Luna had no choice but to go knock on the bathroom door.
Just as she raised her hand, the door was pulled open.
Luna’s eyes lit up with hope, as if she were grabbing onto a savior.
She covered the phone’s receiver and whispered, "Mrs. Kingston is asking if Mr. Kingston is in a relationship."
With that, she shoved the phone back into Blaze Fairchild’s hands as if it were a hot potato.
Blaze laughed at her. "It’s just a phone call. Why are you so scared?"
Luna ignored him and fled back to the bed.
"Mrs. Kingston, it’s me."
Blaze’s voice could be heard intermittently as he took the call.
"Yes, that was my wife. Her name is Luna, Luna Axton."
"He does like a girl, but she’s currently focused on her career plans and isn’t thinking about a relationship." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Luna clicked her tongue in amazement. ’Blaze just told Mrs. Kingston that directly!’
’If Mrs. Kingston finds out, will she be like one of those rich mothers from TV shows? Will she find Lindsey, write her a check, and tell her to stay far away from Wyatt Kingston?’
Luna didn’t know if Mrs. Kingston would actually do that.
’But if Mrs. Kingston really did that, Lindsey would probably be ecstatic.’
’From then on, Wyatt Kingston would never show up in her life again to disrupt her career plans.’
Of course, later on, Luna never heard anything about Wyatt Kingston from Joy Coleman’s lips either.
Luna figured that Wyatt, like Lindsey’s other week-long ex-boyfriends, had probably been cast into the "cold palace."
Time flew by. April passed in a flash, and Luna officially entered her third trimester.
At the end of April, she learned that her mother would be coming to Valoria for the May Day holiday, and her anxious, expectant heart couldn’t stop imagining what would happen.
She was going to have a father, a whole big family of relatives.
But would Academician Frost acknowledge her and accept her as his granddaughter?
Would this really not cause any trouble for her younger uncle in the public eye?
All of Luna’s emotions peaked as she stood in the airport’s VIP lane.
Blaze held her hand, her palm growing increasingly sweaty.
Blaze took out a handkerchief, wiped away the clammy sweat, and soothed her.
"The plane has already landed. They’ll be out soon. Once they’re here, we’ll get in the car and go to the Frost Family’s home together."
"Your younger uncle has definitely made preparations, so don’t be nervous and don’t be scared. He’ll handle everything." As he spoke, Blaze patted her head. "I’ll be with you the whole time, too."
Luna said pitifully, "But I can’t help being nervous."
The corners of Blaze’s lips curved up into a smile. "Then be nervous."
When he smiled like that, Luna couldn’t help but smile too.
