Chapter 543: Give Us The Map

All was quiet at the gates of the pirate base...

BOOM!!

"Knock, knock, motherfuckers!!!" I yelled, firing another mortar round over the destroyed gates and into the base.

The turrets on the towers swivelled to point their barrels at us but Mara and Amber simply swept their hands in their direction and both towers got ripped out of the ground to be tossed aside.

I charged in through the opening I made in the gate, jumping over the remains to land on the other side of the wall.

It seems like there was an open courtyard on the other side of the gate which had three paths leading towards different parts of the pirate base.

The base itself didn’t look much different from the slums outside so you could pretty much say that this was a walled off slum by itself.

I’m assuming that there’s a specific way for their customers to enter this gambling den and the scrap buildings serve as the gambling houses.

But since the place was on lockdown, there was obviously no customers here.

Our arrival had obviously caught the pirates off guard as I found a few of them behind the gates still scrambling around trying to make sense of what was going on.

I believe most of them had simply been lazing around before we attacked since there were a few of them that were only half dressed and weren’t even armed.

I showed no hesitation as I swivelled my left arm that had the miniguns attached to it and started blasting.

A rain of lead tore through the group of pirates, cutting them down like wheat falling before a scythe.

My shield flared as several of the pirates managed to recover and started returning fire.

Fortunately, they did not have any anti-armour ordnance so they barely made a dent in my shields before I fired back at them.

Alarms started blaring and all possibility of this being a stealth mission went out the window, not that it was there to begin with since I fired two mortar rounds...

One of the pirates actually tried to charge at me while holding a broken piece of metal pipe, clearly intending to hit me with it.

Instead of shooting him though, I let him get close to me before thrusting out my hand to grab him by the neck, keeping him just out of range from hitting me with that metal pipe.

Since this guy so eagerly offered himself to me, he would be the one Mara mind reads to find out where the thing we’re looking for is.

I swivelled around and held the struggling pirate at an arm’s length right as Amber and Mara flew over the busted gate to land in front of me.

Mara immediately raised her hand and I could feel some kind of force pulling at the guy so I let him go, watching the pirate float towards Mara as she started her interrogation.

I turned my attention back towards the front right as more pirates showed up, this particular group being better armed than the last ones.

As they were preparing to shoot at me however, Amber floated up into the air and a ring of fire formed around her, causing the pirates to gape up at her.

The sight of her floating up was enough for them to know that she was a Psionic and the fire around her was proof of how fucked they were.

Amber waved her hand and the fire flew forward and wrapped the entire group up in a sea of flames.

Their screams were quickly silenced as the fire completely burned them to ash, leaving only black stains on the ground as the only proof of them even having existed.

I heard a loud snap and I turned to see Mara tossing the dead pirate with a broken neck aside as she floated beside me.

"I have their location, Captain. Shall we start?"

I nodded, "Let’s go. Maintain the call and sound off if anything happens."

Mara gave me a nod before floating towards the right.

As for Amber and myself, we would have to make as much noise as possible to draw the pirates to us.

Which means...

I widened my stance to put myself in a more stable position before I started firing my shoulder mounted mortar again, this time just aiming indiscriminately as I lobbed explosive after explosive towards the deeper parts of the base.

The alarm was still blaring and I could even hear shouts echoing around us as the pirates rallied to deal with the intruders.

Amber chuckled, "Doesn’t this remind you of the time we raided the pirate base?"

"The one where you almost died?" I asked.

"Hehe, I remember it as the time where I fell completely in love with you but yes~"

"Yes, I do. I’m assuming you’re drawing a comparison with that as compared to our current situation? I would say the only difference is that you aren’t holding back this time and I’m sitting in a power armour right now. And also we’re facing a lot more pirates than that time."

"Ehehehe~ That’s what makes it more fun, isn’t it?"

"Are you intending to get hit again?"

She huffed, "Of course not. Wait... Now that I think about it... I can get you to nurse me back to health if I do... Hmm... Decisions, decisions..."

"I’ll give you a good fuck tonight if you don’t."

"Alright! I’m going to kill all the pirates!!"

As if right on cue, the thunder of footsteps could be heard coming from the left and we turned to see more pirates turning around the corner to charge at us.

They immediately opened fire even before they got into cover so I stood in front of Amber to cover her with my power armour’s shields while I fired at them with my miniguns.

A few of them were gunned down while the others dove for cover to avoid my hail of bullets.

Amber rose into the air behind me and several balls of fire appeared around her, looking like a fire goddess of vengeance.

She’s so hot~

The fireballs flew towards the pirates currently behind cover and exploded, burning both the cover and the pirate hiding behind it.

Even more shouts came from the front and I turned to face them, levelling my minigun in that direction and firing even before I confirmed my targets.

Unexpectedly, they had brought power armour along and two of them moved ahead of the group to lift up a shield, activating it to form a barrier in front of them to block my shots.

The pirates all let out barks of laughter as they advanced behind the two power armour, their guns trained on me.

Amber turned and stretched her hand out towards the group, forcing the two power armour guys to stop moving.

She then lifted up her hand which made both of the guys levitate up into the air before she slowly clenched her fist.

There was a loud metallic groan as the power armours began crushing itself, the screams of the pilots abruptly cut off when the helmets shrunk without warning and crushed their heads inside them.

The shields winked out of existence and I started shooting even while Amber was still crushing the power armour into a scrap ball, my minigun mowing down the pirates that had been behind the power armour and too busy looking up at their comrades dying to realise their cover was gone.

The two power armours were crushed into two balls before Amber flung them away towards the left, just in time to smash into another guy in power armour with enough force to shatter his shield and send him smashing into the wall of a scrap building, completely collapsing it.

He managed to survive the first improvised power armour projectile but the moment he looked up, the second one came smashing on top of him and crushed him to death instantly.

The shouts and stomping of footsteps were beginning to sound just as loud as the alarm and I took a moment to switch the mortar rounds to use high explosive ball bearing rounds.

Just in time too, as more people showed up from all three paths.

That made me panic a little since one of the groups came from Mara’s path until I remembered that our call was still connected and I could see her in the midst of moving through the pirate base.

I guess they must have either missed her or she avoided them entirely.

I took aim at the group in front of me and fired the mortar while my left and right arms were stretched to the side to start firing at the approaching pirates.

Amber had attached herself to my back and she seemed to be busying herself with manipulating some fire in her hands.

Trusting her, I did my best to cover for her as the pirates rained down fire on me while I thinned their numbers.

Right then, Amber threw her hands up and a wall of fire shot up behind the pirates, locking them in a cage of fire with us.

Oh, now we don’t need to worry about this group running away~

Time for you all to die~
