Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Vivian Quinn Really Is The Phantom Healer

Vivian Quinn’s heart ached for him. "Elle, I don’t want to leave you either, but you have your own mother. It was wrong for her to hit you, but it’s also been very hard for her to raise you all by herself. You’re a big boy, so try to be the bigger person and not hold a grudge against your mommy, okay?"

Elle pouted and said nothing.

Vivian Quinn smiled and stroked his cheek. "I know you’re upset, Elle. How about this? If your mommy apologizes to you on her own, it means she knows she was wrong. Would you be willing to forgive her then?"

Elle thought about it seriously for a moment. "Then I guess I can give her one more chance."

"Elle is so generous." Vivian Quinn kissed his cheek. "Go to sleep now."

"Okay."

After Elle was fast asleep, Jett Sterling came out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel.

"Finished?"

"Yep. I listened to Mrs. Sterling and soaked for a full hour. If you don’t believe me, take a sniff. I’m practically pickled in that stuff."

Vivian Quinn burst out laughing. "I’m not smelling that. Since you reek of medicine, go sleep in the other room. Don’t bother Elle with the smell."

"My love, you’re so cruel..." Jett Sterling wrapped his arms around her, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he lowered his head to kiss her lips.

Vivian Quinn instinctively turned her head, dodging the kiss.

Jett Sterling froze for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Vivian, are you still upset?"

Vivian Quinn shook her head gently. "I’m fine."

"That incident is long past. That father and son have nothing to do with you."

Vivian Quinn turned back to look at him. "What happened to that father and son?"

"I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry."

"Okay." Vivian Quinn didn’t press for details, simply wrapping her arms around his neck. "Jett, I’m sorry..."

"If you say that again, I’m really going to get angry." Jett Sterling kissed her cheek. "I’ve told you before, as long as you’re alive and well, nothing else matters."

"I understand what you mean," Vivian Quinn said softly. "Jett, I want to go see Rachel Quinn."

"What for?"

"To get a clear answer about what happened back then. To ask who that man was, and what happened to the child."

"Rachel Quinn won’t tell you."

"I still have to ask."

"Alright, we’ll do as you say."

Vivian Quinn cupped his face. "Aren’t you going to ask why I need to get to the bottom of this?"

"You want to get answers so you can finally put it all behind you."

"Yes," Vivian Quinn said. "I’ve always been too afraid to investigate or face it, but this incident made me realize that if I don’t, people will keep using it to hurt me."

"True."

"That’s why I have to find out the truth."

"Vivian, do what you feel you need to do. But I have one condition: don’t let it affect our lives."

Vivian Quinn nodded. "I know."

...

The next morning, after getting Elle settled, Vivian Quinn went straight to find Rachel Quinn.

The moment she saw Rachel Quinn, she sensed something was off. "Did you have some spotting last night?"

Rachel Quinn was stunned. ’How could Vivian Quinn know about the spotting last night?’

But a moment later, she seemed to figure it out and said dismissively, "Well, look at you, Vivian Quinn. Now that you’re married to Jett Sterling, you’re investigating my hospital records, is that it? Or did you just have someone follow me?"

"I’m in no mood to listen to your speculation," Vivian Quinn warned. "Since you went to the hospital, the bleeding must have stopped, which is why they discharged you. But your condition is very dangerous. I advise you to go back to the hospital immediately and get on bed rest. Otherwise, when something happens, it’ll be too late to get you there. You won’t just lose the baby; your own life could be at risk."

"Shut your mouth!" Rachel Quinn shouted angrily. "Nothing good ever comes out of that mouth of yours! Are you hoping for me and the baby to die? Vivian Quinn, you’re truly vicious, aren’t you? Coming here just to curse me!"

"I don’t have time for this. Believe it or not," Vivian Quinn said, her tone serious. "You’re wearing makeup to hide your complexion, but your face was probably pale and bluish when you woke up this morning, wasn’t it?"

Rachel Quinn froze again. Her face had indeed been a ghastly pale-blue color when she woke up, so she’d had to cake on heavy makeup to hide it, afraid Austin Grant would be repulsed if he saw.

Vivian Quinn stood up. "You need to get to the hospital right now to save your life. We can talk about everything else later."

"How dare you keep cursing me! I..."

Before Rachel Quinn could finish, she suddenly felt something was wrong. Looking down, she saw blood rapidly spreading across the sofa.

"How could this be..." Rachel Quinn’s face went white. "The doctor said it was fine... My baby, my baby..."

Vivian Quinn’s brow furrowed. She snapped at the maid, "What are you standing there for? Call an ambulance, now!"

"Yes, yes, right away." The maid scrambled to do as she was told.

The bleeding grew heavier, and Rachel Quinn’s screams were heart-wrenching, her face a mask of agony.

Vivian Quinn hesitated for a moment, then took her silver needles from her bag. She stepped forward and said, "Rachel Quinn, listen to me. Look at how much you’re bleeding. Your baby definitely can’t be saved. If you keep bleeding like this, your life will be in danger too. I can use acupuncture to stop the bleeding now. It can at least save your life. Are you willing to let me?"

Rachel Quinn’s eyes widened, cold sweat pouring down her face. She struggled to speak. "I can’t die. I want to live!"

"Alright, I’m starting now."

With Vivian Quinn’s treatment, Rachel Quinn’s bleeding gradually stopped.

"Ma’am, the bleeding has stopped!" the maid said excitedly. "Sir is on his way back. Don’t worry!"

The ambulance and Austin Grant arrived at almost the same time and rushed Rachel Quinn away.

Vivian Quinn didn’t follow them. She went straight back to Sycamore Bay, giving Jett Sterling a major scare. "Why are you covered in blood? Are you hurt?"

"No, I just happened to be there when Rachel Quinn had an emergency. I used my needles on her."

Jett Sterling breathed a sigh of relief. "Why would you save someone like her?"

"If I hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t have gotten involved. But since I was, I couldn’t just stand by and watch her die."

Jett Sterling stroked her face. "I understand. Let’s not talk about it."

"I didn’t even get to ask my important questions before she had her emergency. It was a wasted trip."

"There’s no rush."

"Where’s Elle?"

"Nanny Jenner took him to the garden to play."

"I’ll go find him."

"Okay."

...

In the hospital, when Rachel Quinn woke up, it was already dark.

After a doctor came to check on her, he said, "You’re stable for now. Before you came to the hospital today, someone stopped your bleeding, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have escaped Death’s Door."

Rachel Quinn furrowed her brow. "Are you serious?"

"Of course. The paramedics on the ambulance told us about the amount of blood you lost. It should have been fatal for both you and the baby. The fact that your life was saved... you’re incredibly lucky, wouldn’t you say?"

It suddenly dawned on Rachel Quinn, and she was shocked. "Doctor, the person who stopped my bleeding... are their medical skills extraordinary?"

"How did they stop the bleeding?"

"With silver needles!"

"Traditional Chinese medicine?" The two doctors looked at each other in astonishment. "To save your life with just silver needles... that’s no ordinary level of skill!"

Rachel Quinn swallowed hard. ’How could this be... How could she really be... ’

The Phantom Healer!
