Wealthy Beauty in the 60s-Chapter 236 - 235 Ning Hui’s Dream
Chapter 236: Chapter 235 Ning Hui’s Dream
"Mmm, I dreamt about it, I dreamt that he married another woman, and I broke off our engagement," Ning Hui said in a low voice.
"Who did you dream Secretary Li was marrying?" Xia Xiao asked.
Ning Hui then said to Li Zhenchuan, "Please step out for a moment, I’d like to have a word with Xia Xiao."
Li Zhenchuan left immediately, and Ning Hui felt relieved after awakening.
But as soon as Li Zhenchuan left, tears started to fall from Ning Hui’s eyes. "Xia Xiao, I dreamt about it, I dreamt that I was married to Li Zhenchuan. Then I fell ill, and we never had children for our entire lives. I won’t marry him, I can’t ruin his life."
"Dreams are not real," Xia Xiao said, though deep inside she began to doubt, now feeling uncertain herself.
"It can’t be, it was so vivid. I had a very long dream. I dreamt about the production team too, though I didn’t see you. But I saw The Bodhisattva Guanyin who saved me. She looked like you and even had the same voice."
Ning Hui’s words gave Xia Xiao pause. Sitting down, she pressed Ning Hui for details, "Did you see Gao Jiaxing?"
Ning Hui replied, "Gao Jiaxing had gone to serve in the military, but in my dream, it seemed like he was seriously injured afterward, and I don’t know what happened to him. Also, about the He Family, He Xuebing married the regiment commander’s daughter, and He Xuegang was sacrificed. And in the end, Sun Yuhua divorced Gao Jiazhi and went back to the city."
This made Xia Xiao start to believe. Ning Hui knew all this; the dream was too real. But it was hard for Xia Xiao to accept. The fact that Gao Jiaxing’s severe injury hadn’t been described as fatal offered her some comfort. She asked again, "And Sister Xuehua?"
"Yang Xuehua, I’m not so sure about her. In the end, it seemed like she started a school with Gao Jiazhi, but whether they were together or not, I don’t know."
Ah, Xia Xiao opened her mouth in surprise. How could that be?
Could Yang Xuehua really be with Gao Jiazhi, married to him? Xia Xiao couldn’t believe it. It had to be a business partnership. That seemed more likely to Xia Xiao.
"It really was like that in my dream, but I don’t remember much else. I don’t want to marry Li Zhenchuan, I don’t want to harm him," Ning Hui said, shaking her head tearfully.
"Ning Hui, dreams are the opposite of reality," Xia Xiao still hoped Ning Hui’s dream wasn’t true; she didn’t want Gao Jiaxing to be dead.
"I hope it’s not true. I suffered so much in the dream, I always wanted children but couldn’t have any. I prayed to deities and became neurotic. His family didn’t like me. I don’t want to marry him."
"Secretary Li is the only son in the Li Family, right?" Xia Xiao asked in a low voice.
Ning Hui shook her head, then nodded, "He has cousins, but his parents had three children and he’s the only son. That’s why I can’t marry him. I don’t want to deny him a lifetime of having children."
At this point, Xia Xiao didn’t know what to say. She could only hold Ning Hui and silently comfort her. Ning Hui looked pleadingly at Xia Xiao and said, "I’m hungry, I want to eat an egg."
"Alright, drink some water first, and I’ll go boil an egg for you." Xia Xiao said as she picked up the lunchbox and opened the door, where Li Zhenchuan just happened to be standing quietly, nodding at Xia Xiao.
"Secretary Li, Ning Hui just woke up. I’m going to get her something to eat," Xia Xiao said.
Li Zhenchuan nodded, and Xia Xiao left.
Back in the ward, Ning Hui glanced at Li Zhenchuan before lowering her head and said to him, "Let’s break off our engagement."
"Don’t talk about this stuff just after recovering from the illness," Li Zhenchuan said.
"Li Zhenchuan, I’m serious. Let’s break off our engagement. I don’t want to marry you," Ning Hui burst into tears.
"I will marry you," stated Li Zhenchuan.
"No, don’t. I don’t want you to marry me anymore. I’ve really thought it through this time. I shouldn’t have insisted. I will go back immediately and annul our marriage. It’s a mistake."
"Just rest up for now; you don’t need to think about anything else," Li Zhenchuan said, his brows furrowed. He didn’t know what to do with this Ning Hui, so he simply stood at the door when he saw that Ning Hui wanted to continue speaking.
Ning Hui felt helpless, the dream was too real, and she was just too scared; she didn’t have the courage anymore.
In another space, Xia Xiao boiled two eggs and made a vegetable porridge for Ning Hui, feeling that Ning Hui’s dream was too real and abrupt. She asked Shitou, "Why would Ning Hui have such a dream? Could she be reborn?"
That was what concerned Xia Xiao the most. If Ning Hui was reborn, Xia Xiao would have to be more cautious. Though she was on good terms with Ning Hui, she also didn’t want anyone to know about her rebirth or anything of the sort.
"It’s not that. It could be because of my presence that she had such dreams."
At the drop of Shitou’s explanation, Xia Xiao asked, "What do you mean?"
"We came from the future. Both you and I have certain auras. My appearance might naturally cause her to have such dreams."
With Shitou’s explanation, Xia Xiao seemed to understand, but not quite. However, she had a better grasp of the general idea.
"If that’s the case, and the people we come in contact with all have such dreams, it might not be a good thing," Xia Xiao said with some trepidation. If the Xia Family dreamed of the original owner’s death, that would be very bad for Xia Xiao.
"So we need to be careful in the future. You should stop throwing me at people and objects. It’s better if you just keep me in the space," Shitou said. "If you can’t help it, just use a brick instead."
Xia Xiao nodded in agreement, feeling it was better to keep Shitou in the space after such a dream from Ning Hui. She was afraid, reluctant to see the warmth, happiness, and the happiness she had obtained get destroyed, to see everything turn to ashes.
When Xia Xiao returned to the ward, she saw Li Zhenchuan standing like a wooden stake by the door, and the silent Ning Hui inside.
Seeing Xia Xiao return, Ning Hui’s eyes lit up, "Xia Xiao, you’re finally back."
"I made some vegetable porridge for you," Xia Xiao said.
Eagerly, Ning Hui looked at Xia Xiao, "What about the eggs?"
Xia Xiao smiled, placing the two eggs into Ning Hui’s hands, and Ning Hui started eating happily.
