Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 68: Father in law
After dropping them, I looked down at the Nine Lives Grass that was on the ground and then suddenly laid down on it before saying, "Let’s see how well this works as a bed."
Everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I did this, but there were other emotions that some people were feeling when they saw this.
There was one person who made it clear what he was feeling as he looked at me with a dark look on his face.
Liu Ao Xue’s father looked like he wanted to strangle me when he saw me lying on the Nine Lives Grass like this, but he didn’t say anything as he watched me lying there.
To avoid looking into his eyes, I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep, though I was really just laying there for a minute straight.
When it was over, I finally opened my eyes and said, "This isn’t good for sleeping on at all. I’m done with this, you can pick it up now."
As I said this though, I made sure to give a meaningful look to Liu Han.
It was just that he was a bit too angry to notice that look.
He looked like he wanted to grab me and beat me up again.
It was a good thing that Elder Tian had also noticed this, so he quickly gave a signal to Liu Ao Xue. With this signal, Liu Ao Xue also understood what was happening and came forward to help.
Liu Ao Xue came forward to stand in front of her father so he wouldn’t be able to do anything while also calming him down.
During this, Elder Tian came over to where I was and said, "Xiao Fan, let me take care of that for you."
The way that he said this was completely different from how he addressed me before.
He had changed to calling me "Xiao Fan", as if I was a part of his family.
But then again...
I gave a nod before saying, "Thank you."
Elder Tian waved his hand before quickly picking up all of the pieces of Nine Lives Grass on the ground. But when he finished picking them up, he didn’t hand them back to me and instead put them inside of a Storage Ring that he had.
When he finished collecting them all, he brought it over to Liu Han and handed it over to him.
Liu Han looked at this Storage Ring with a strange look that made it seem like he was hesitating over something, but in the end, he still took the Storage Ring.
It seemed like things were settled after that, but...
Since he had received the Nine Lives Grass, it seemed like it was fine, but there was a part of him that felt like he owed this disciple of his daughter something.
After all, taking this Nine Lives Grass for free just didn’t feel right.
After taking a moment to think about it, he said in a calmer voice, "I’ll think of a way to repay you for this."
But I quickly shook my head and hand before saying, "No, no, there’s no need for that."
I had even said it a bit fast since I was afraid that he would actually pay me back for this.
If that happened, wouldn’t it be considered selling the system’s things for money?
I couldn’t let that happen, especially since this was definitely worth more than the pills that I had brought out before. If he really were to pay me, wouldn’t I lose all my points and more?
No, it couldn’t happen.
So I did the only thing that I could do, the only way that I could get him to back off.
When Liu Han didn’t say anything, I instead said, "Father in law, you can just take this as part of the betrothal gift."
There was only silence that followed after I said this.
Everyone in the room just looked at me in shock when they heard this.
There clearly wasn’t a single person in the room that was able to react to what I had just said.
After a long silence, Liu Han looked like he was about to explode again.
There was even a part of him that wanted to throw down the Storage Ring in his hand, but he held himself back in the end. He just stared at it for a bit before suddenly saying, "There’s no way that you’ll ever be able to call me that! I refuse to accept you, no matter what you give me!"
In the end, he still put it away without a word and there was no mention of repaying me for it anymore.
It seemed that he was too enraged to even start thinking about that, which was just what I wanted. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But Liu Han wasn’t done there as he sat back down and started drinking the tea, taking a moment to enjoy it before he started insulting me again.
This time, he didn’t get physical with me at the very least, but he didn’t hold back with his words as he threw all kinds of insults at me. It almost seemed like unless he was able to vent all of the anger that he felt, he wouldn’t calm down.
Though he didn’t ever really cross the line when insulting me.
It was as if there was something that was holding him back from properly insulting me.
Was it the bribe or was it something else?
Elder Tian and the others also sat down and started enjoying the tea as well.
This was tea made from the Nine Lives Grass, so it wasn’t something that could be enjoyed that easily.
When Liu Han slowly calmed down, he suddenly said, "I will never, ever accept it! You will never be able to marry my daught..."
Before he could finish, there was a jab that hit him in the waist.
When he looked over, Liu Han saw that Liu Ao Xue had turned away with a blush on her face, but he could see that her elbow was slowly coming back to her side.
Seeing this...he really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry...
