Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 452: Chasing out
Since that day, Fan Xiao Yu hadn’t come back to the palace.
It had been an entire week since that day passed and we had been going out every day to stroll around the city to waste money.
Young Master Yu came to see us everyday, but it seemed that Fan Xiao Yu completely disappeared.
Though it wasn’t strange that she would disappear after what had happened.
The way that she had been embarrassed, it would be strange if she came to stick her hot face into a cold butt. Even if she tried to get closer, all that she would get is the cold shoulder.
So someone as prideful as the young miss of one of the four ducal families wouldn’t do something like that.
She had stayed away during this time.
In the beginning, it seemed like Mu Bao Bao didn’t mind that Fan Xiao Yu stayed away. It was almost as if she had seen the truth of what kind of person Fan Xiao Yu was since in a way, she had seen this with how Fan Xiao Yu acted.
But that only lasted two days before she started worrying about Fan Xiao Yu.
Regardless of what Fan Xiao Yu did, the two of them were childhood friends.
The bond between them wasn’t a weak one, so it wouldn’t collapse that simply.
It wasn’t as if Mu Bao Bao would abandon Fan Xiao Yu just because of a small matter like this.
So she began dropping hints that we should go see Fan Xiao Yu.
All of these were ignored by me since I didn’t want to get involved with Fan Xiao Yu again.
There was nothing good that came with getting involved with that vixen, that was something that I was clear on. So of course I didn’t want anything to do with her, even if it made Mu Bao Bao a bit sad to be rejected like this.
This was for her own good.
It was just that even though she had been silent, it wasn’t as if she had remained idle.
She had been working behind the scenes and had done quite a few things.
Though in the end, what decided it was still Mu Huang.
Mu Huang was the Nine Tails Emperor and if he didn’t want to do something, it wasn’t as if there was anyone that could force him to do something in this Sakura Upper Realm.
As we were about to head out, we were suddenly summoned to the main hall by one of Mu Huang’s servants.
We were certainly surprised since he had never summoned us like this before.
Even if we did see each other every night for dinner, which was something that he insisted on, he had never actually summoned us to court like this.
After all, there was that thing that they were trying to keep from Mu Bao Bao there.
So they wouldn’t let her go to court just in case she discovered it.
But now...
Something must have happened.
When we arrived, all of the ministers were there as well.
It seemed that everyone had been gathered here, as if there was something important happening.
At the same time, when we came in, it didn’t seem like they did the normal thing that they did when they saw Mu Bao Bao. They didn’t come forward to spoil her like they did whenever they saw her.
Instead, they just sat there with stern looks on their faces.
These looks were suspicious since it seemed like they were trying too hard to seem like they were acting this way.
But in the end, we didn’t get the chance to figure anything out as Mu Huang said, "I have a task for all of you."
We were certainly surprised since Mu Huang had never said anything like this before.
In fact, with the way that he acted, it seemed like he was afraid of sending Mu Bao Bao anywhere since he was afraid of anything happening to her. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
However, he was sending her out now...
This seemed suspicious no matter how one looked at it.
"Why?" Mu Bao Bao naturally could tell that this was suspicious as well since the way that Mu Huang acted was completely different from how he normally acted.
Mu Huang didn’t react at all even though Mu Bao Bao called him out like this.
Instead, he just calmly said, "There has been some spirit beast activity happening in the River Province. You will be heading there with the rest of the younger generation to investigate."
The nature of this task made it seem like it was a training trip for the younger generation, but it seemed like it was too rushed to just be a simple training trip.
I could guess that there was someone who was pulling the strings from behind on this matter, but it wasn’t just Fan Xiao Yu.
She might be able to suggest a few things to the duke, who was her grandfather, but she wasn’t able to get Mu Huang to do something like this. At most, the duke would have just given a suggestion to Mu Huang and nothing else.
For him to decide on this meant that there was something that he wanted from this.
There was something that he was trying to achieve by suddenly sending us off like this.
With the current situation, it wasn’t actually that hard to guess what it was.
He was simply trying to drive us away from the capital since something was about to happen.
It was hard to tell what it was since we had no information on this matter. No matter how we tried to get information while wandering the city, it didn’t seem to matter as this matter was completely locked down.
It seemed that no one knew a single thing about this.
"Why are you doing this?" Mu Bao Bao asked again.
Mu Huang looked right at her without saying a thing with a firm look in his eyes that made it seem like he believed that what he was doing was right.
There was this tense mood that soon filled the air.
