The passage behind the door was a dark tunnel.

This was completely different from the image that the golden door had portrayed, it was far from the splendor of the door.

But with how long it was taking, it only made sense that it would be minimalistic.

No one would spend that much effort in decorating this pathway from a lower realm to an upper realm, that was a waste of resources after all.

Since it took a while, that meant that I was able to find some time to talk to the system.

"Why did those armoured soldiers suddenly attack us like that?"

Even though I had never ascended before, I could tell that what happened just now wasn’t normal.

The way that all of those armoured soldiers appeared and the way that they had formed a killing formation, that was just too much for anyone that was newly ascending to the upper realm to deal with.

This was definitely not something that just anyone could deal with.

The system was silent for a bit before saying, "Those are fools that are trying to act as kings even in the upper realm. They don’t deserve any mercy at all, they are the reason why the upper realms are as they currently are."

This was an answer to my question, but at the same time...it just made me even more confused.

This was the kind of answer that wasn’t an answer at all.

But there were a few hints that I could pick up from the system’s words.

As expected, there was someone or something that was keeping people from ascending to the upper realms. Whatever upper realm that the lower realm that we came from was connected to, it seemed that they didn’t want people from the lower realm ascending.

It seemed that this was a problem, even for the god that created the system.

"Can’t your creator do anything about this?"

I didn’t really know what to say in this situation, so I just randomly asked this.

"For someone that advocates not interfering in a lower realm, to interfere in a lower realm like this upper realm, that would be going against their own rules, right?"

What the system said was logical, but that just went to show that there were realms that were even above these upper realms. Though I should have already known that since there were Deity Realm Experts, such as the War God.

After another moment of silence, there was one more thing that came to mind that I needed to ask the system about.

"Will you make me take care of these people?"

It really seemed like it was winding up to the system giving me a mission to take care of these people from the upper realm that were acting beyond their position. This was the kind of thing that most novels that I’ve read built up towards when they gave information like this.

"No, the system was given to you to help you live a good life as a prodigal for your good deeds. The system will not force you to do anything that you don’t want to do."

There was a bitter smile that appeared on my lips when I heard this, but that smile disappeared on its own.

Thinking about it, the system really had never done anything to harm me.

When it was needed, the system had done everything that it had to do to help me solve all my problems.

Even the invader quest was to give me peace of mind after ascending to the upper realm.

So it really seemed like the system did everything that it did to help me.

With this thought, I decided that it would just be rude to keep doubting the system like this and focused on the journey that was ahead.

The problem was that it took just too long to reach the upper realm.

The passage that we headed through almost seemed like it would never end at this rate...

I looked at Mu Bao Bao during this and she shook her head before saying, "It wasn’t this long before, so I don’t know what’s happening."

After saying this, she shot me a look almost as if she was suspecting that I had something to do with this. But I really didn’t have anything to do with this since I didn’t even have the ability to do this.

Eventually, we reached the end of this passage as light appeared in front of us.

With this light, we could see traces of the new world that was in front of us.

After going into the light, we were thrown onto the ground.

We weren’t that high up when we were thrown out of the portal and we landed on what seemed to be paved tiles. It seemed that we weren’t thrown into the middle of nowhere and were thrown right into a civilized place.

Looking around, we saw that we were in the center of a square and there was a gate that was behind us. The faint traces of the portal that we had just come out of were disappearing behind us.

After looking around and getting used to our surroundings, I turned to look at Mu Bao Bao.

She had also been looking around carefully, but that was for a different reason.

When she looked at me, she gave a slow nod before saying, "This is the Sakura Upper Realm."

I let out a sigh of relief when I heard this, even though the system had already assured me that we were heading to the Sakura Upper Realm.

I didn’t know if there would be something strange that happened that would throw us off course since that was what was likely in different cultivation novels, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

Thinking back, I finally realized what the Fifth and Sixth Guardian Lords had done.

They had been using their power to adjust the gate so that it would send us to the Sakura Upper Realm.

That was why the system had said not to worry.
