Chapter 385: Demon Slaying Conference

Mist Flower City.

This was the city that I had come to after leaving the Tarask Desert.

This was also the city that was the closest to the next red dot that I was after.

After leaving the underground city, I found that the sandstorm that filled the Tarask Desert had mostly stopped. Though there were a few sandstorms that still seemed to be blowing, the main sandstorm that filled the entire desert seemed to have disappeared all of a sudden.

As I had expected, the sandstorm of the Tarask Desert was related to the Sand Empire in some way.

Now that I had taken the object of faith from the buried Sand Empire, it seemed only normal that the power sustaining the sandstorm in the Tarask Desert disappeared as well.

It seemed that in the future, the Tarask Desert would no longer be considered a taboo zone.

But that wasn’t something that I was concerned about.

I had finished my task of taking care of that red dot, so that was all that mattered to me.

When I arrived in Mist Flower City, I couldn’t help being surprised by just how many people were here.

This was a city that was in a fifth grade empire, a place that shouldn’t have had anything special that would have drawn all these people here in the first place.

But it wasn’t just the amount of people that I was surprised by.

Rather, it was the fact that most of the people here were cultivators. At the same time, it seemed that there were quite a few high grade cultivators that were also in this city.

It was as if the experts of the sects had suddenly gathered in this Mist Flower City which just didn’t make sense at all.

Perhaps I might have known something if I had gone back to the Star Peak Sect, but I didn’t know a thing since I had been traveling on my own.

Since I was also a cultivator, most of the people in the streets didn’t seem to bother me.

That was until one voice suddenly said, "Junior Brother Lin, is that you?"

I was surprised to be called this, but I also recognized this voice.

That was because the one that had called me out was one of the senior brothers from the Star Peak Sect.

It wasn’t just this single senior brother that was there, it was an entire group of senior brothers and sisters that were all walking through the streets together. With the things that were in their hands, it really seemed like they had been enjoying themselves as they walked around in the city.

I couldn’t help revealing a trace of a bitter smile as I asked, "What are you doing here?"

After coming over, the senior brother that called out said, "We’re here for the Demon Slaying Conference. Aren’t you here for the same thing?"

"Demon Slaying Conference?" I couldn’t help repeating in a confused voice.

This was certainly something that I had never heard of before.

Seeing the confused look on my face, the senior brother said, "If you’re not here for the Demon Slaying Conference, then what are you here for?"

There was an awkward smile that appeared on my face when I heard this, but I didn’t say anything in response.

It wasn’t as if I could just tell them about the upper realm invaders after all.

Seeing that I wasn’t saying anything, the senior brother didn’t force the issue as he said, "Since you’re here, how about you join us then? If you join in on the Demon Slaying Conference, then it should be very helpful."

I was about to reject them, but then I thought of something.

Based on the name, they should be here to fight something.

If they were here to fight something...the only thing that they could be fighting was... 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

So I asked, "Where is the Demon Slaying Conference being held?"

The senior brother was surprised to hear this since he didn’t expect this question.

After all, this junior brother of his was someone that no one could understand or see through. The things that he did were spontaneous and random, so no one ever knew what he was planning.

Taking a moment to gather himself, the senior brother said, "It’s being held in Demon Valley."

With a slight trace of bitterness in my smile, I asked, "Which direction is that in?"

The senior brother looked even more confused when he heard this and a bit lost since he didn’t know exactly which direction the Demon Valley was in. It wasn’t as if this was something that he knew off the top of his head after all.

It was one of the senior sisters who came forward to point in a certain direction before saying, "It’s in that direction."

I turned to look at the direction that she was pointing in before narrowing my eyes to look in that direction.

The others all looked at me with strange looks since they had no idea what I was doing, but I didn’t mind them as I continued looking in that direction. After looking for a bit, I finally said, "Alright, I’ll come with you."

The senior brothers and sisters were confused and surprised when they heard this, but then they quickly welcomed me to their group.

I could tell that they were happy to have me along since I was someone who had brought out all kinds of tricks before. They were happy to have me along since I was someone that they believed was from an upper realm, so they would be able to rely on me for this Demon Slaying Conference.

The name was there, so it was clear that this had something to do with fighting demons.

As such, they must be happy to have my strength.

But there was only one thing that was on my mind when I agreed.

The direction that the senior sister pointed in, it was the direction that the red dot was in.

It seemed that this Demon Slaying Conference was anything but normal.
