Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 379: Sand emperor
The door slowly opened without a sound.
Even though this door had been here for a long time, it didn’t seem to make a single sound as it opened. It was as if this door was a freshly greased door that had hinges that opened without a sound.
But it wasn’t as if that was a bad thing for me.
After the door opened, I was surprised by the scale of the room.
Even if I had a 3D map that already showed me this room, it still wasn’t enough to capture the scale of this room.
Looking around the room, I could clearly tell what this room was.
It was the throne room.
It was no wonder that it was this big.
In the distance, I could see that there was a throne that was at the other side of this room. Then all along the length of this room, there were many large pillars that seemed to be used to support the room.
This really seemed like a grand and majestic throne room, but I wasn’t in any mood to take this all in.
Instead, I was focused on the throne that was on the other side of this room,
That was because that was where the red dot was on the 3D map.
That meant that the invader should be on that throne.
When I looked at the throne carefully, I couldn’t see anything that was there. Other than a layer of sand that seemed to cover the throne, there wasn’t anything else that was on the throne or even near the throne.
It seemed like this room was completely abandoned with how empty this room was.
I had no idea where the red dot was coming from.
But I didn’t make a single sound after coming into this room.
I just made my way behind one of the pillars and hid our group as I looked around the room for the enemy.
In the end, I still wasn’t able to find a single thing.
Because of how dark this room was, the four beasts weren’t really able to see anything. They had to rely on me showing them the way rather than being able to make their own way around.
Though it was easier for the three Four Kings since they were in the Transcendence Realm. They were able to use their spiritual energy as a sort of echolocation around them, so they had an idea of what was around them.
It was only a little monkey that was completely blind in this place.
That was what caused the problem.
"Tink."
There was a clear sound that rang out through the room all of a sudden.
It was as if there was something metallic that was spinning around on the floor.
The little monkey was shocked since it had no idea what it had kicked, but I could see that it had kicked some kind of crown that was by its foot. This crown spun on the ground a few times before coming to a stop. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
It was too late to stop the sound from being made and after the sound rang out, there was light that suddenly filled this room.
I had noticed them earlier, but I had ignored them since there was nothing that I could do with them. There were torches that lined the wall of this place, but it didn’t seem like they had any fuel to burn.
All of a sudden, flames appeared on these torches and in no time at all, the entire room was lit up.
After the room was lit, a voice suddenly said, "Who dares disturb this emperor’s rest?"
At that, the sand that had been on the throne suddenly started to stir.
It seemed like it was only floating at first, but then it started to take form.
The sand seemed like it was swirling around at first, but then it suddenly gathered in a single spot as if it was condensing into something.
When it finished gathering, it took the form of a figure.
It looked like a human, but there was something strange about this figure at the same time. It wasn’t as if it was a human exactly, it seemed like it was sand that was just in the shape of a human.
While this was happening, there were things that suddenly started flying across the room towards that figure.
I saw that it wasn’t just the crown, but also a set of clothes and a staff that flew through the air.
They flew over to the figure made of sand and fell into place.
When that figure was fully dressed by these items flying over, it made them look like an...
Emperor.
An emperor made of sand.
It was no wonder they had said ’this emperor’.
Were they the ruler of this city?
No, it shouldn’t be that.
That was because I could see that this figure made of sand was where the red dot was, which meant that this thing was without a doubt the invader that I was supposed to destroy.
So it shouldn’t be the original ruler of this city, but someone that had snuck into this city to try and take it over.
Only it was strange that it would want to take over a city that didn’t have anything here.
The other invaders went for different sources of power that would be able to come to this lower realm with all of their power, but this one seemed to be hiding in this underground city...
Was there something special about this underground city?
"It’s using the power of faith in the staff. That is the symbol of the Sand Empire, the land that once ruled over this region and is responsible for the sandstorm up above. The power contained in that staff makes it on the same level as an immortal weapon."
I was caught off guard by the sudden explanation by the system, but then I looked at the staff in the sand emperor’s hand.
It really seemed like there was an intense spiritual energy fluctuation coming from it.
