Chapter 108: Bide your time

It was three days later when we finally set out from the Falling Star Sect.

If it wasn’t for the fact that we had Storage Rings, we would have been leaving this place with bags filled with things.

I didn’t know what got into Liu Ao Xue, but she had been packing things up for us during all three of these days. There wasn’t a single moment where she remained idle as she packed up many different things that she thought we would need on our trip when in reality we didn’t really need them.

These were all things that could be bought with money at any town that we passed by.

Not to mention, most of these were things that we wouldn’t need.

Such as a hundred different sets of clothes...or over a hundred boxes of matches...or a variety of tools that would be needed if we were ever stranded.

All of these things were completely over the top and would only be needed in certain situations, but that didn’t stop Liu Ao Xue from packing them into bags for me.

It seemed that she wouldn’t stop unless she made sure that everything we needed was with us.

So it took a Storage Ring just to hold it all...

It really was a lot...

This was completely different from the Liu Ao Xue that I met when I first came to the Falling Star Sect, but it wasn’t as if I was against this side of her.

It even seemed cute the way that she worried.

So it took us quite a bit of time before we were able to depart, but we did depart in the end.

Yes, we.

Since I was going out, naturally I would be going out with my lackeys.

But not all my lackeys since there were two that were remaining behind. These two were the ones that would be helping Lin Li Zi with her store like they had been doing all this time.

My little sister wasn’t coming since she cared more about her stores than coming out to gain experience in the world.

The funny thing was that even if I had wanted to bring her with me, the elders of the Star Peak Sect wouldn’t have let me do this. It was only three days, but they were already treating her the same as Liu Ao Xue.

They didn’t seem like they would let her be in any danger at all...

She really had been able to wrap them all around her fingers...

There were people that questioned if I needed lackeys to go on this mission, but Liu Ao Xue agreed to this to everyone’s surprise.

Her reasoning was that if more people went with me, the more people there were to protect me.

It didn’t seem like I was going out to complete a mission at all.

But I was able to head out just like a prodigal young master like this.

The first place that we went to was a town that was on the way to the area where the villages for the mission were. This was a town that wasn’t too big and wasn’t too small, it was just a town that could be found everywhere.

As such, I didn’t really feel inclined to show off that much.

When we arrived, the first thing that we did was get some food since it was around noon when we arrived.

At the restaurant, Gao Fu Shuai was about to act like he normally did when we went to restaurants, but I stopped him.

I just said to the waiter he called over, "Get us some of your best dishes. The rest is your tip."

With that, I tossed some silver to him which was more than enough for what I ordered.

The eyes of the waiter lit up before he gave a nod with a warm smile and went off to put in our order.

As we sat there, they all looked at me with strange looks.

It was almost as if they couldn’t believe what I had just done.

Instead of buying the entire menu and even offering to buy food for everyone that was in the restaurant, I had actually done the normal thing...Well, it wasn’t completely normal since I had given a tip and let the waiter order for us, but it was still more normal than what I usually did.

So they couldn’t help thinking that I was a different person.

That included Elder Tian who should have been more calm than the lackeys.

They all looked at me as if they were trying to figure out if I was really me.

I found this rude, but I just sat there with a calm look on my face as I said, "To be a real prodigal, sometimes you need to know how to bide your time. I’ve already done this so many times that it can’t be considered predictable. Of course, I wouldn’t do something like that again."

They all looked at me with confused looks when they heard this, but I just ignored them.

It was because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to raise my fame alone with just this.

This would be a small incident that would be contained within the restaurant and wouldn’t spread my fame. It would increase it a bit, but it wouldn’t be enough for me to lose the element of surprise.

The element of surprise was the biggest way of increasing the shock value of anything that I did.

The higher the shock value, the more fame that I would receive.

So I wouldn’t do something that would hurt me in the long run.

I would bide my time and wait for the best chance to show off.

As if responding to my thoughts, there was a voice that came from outside.

"Please help me! Save me!"

"Ha, ha, ha, there’s nothing that you can do! You owe us a lot of money, do you really think that we’ll let you go?"

My eyes lit up the moment that I heard this.

This was the chance that I was waiting for!
