Jesua’s voice was sharp and urgent. "It’s entered a second phase! Keep moving or we’ll be cooked alive!"

Sylus dashed to the side, narrowly avoiding a torrent of lava that spilled from one of the dragon’s back-volcanoes. He leapt onto a craggy ledge, his frost sword gleaming as he focused his energy into its blade. With a powerful swing, he launched a crescent-shaped arc of ice toward the dragon. It struck one of the volcanoes, briefly cooling the molten eruption and slowing the flow.

"Target those volcanoes!" Sylus shouted. "If we can stop them, we might weaken it!"

Jesua nodded, her shadowy form darting forward. She conjured spears of darkness, hurling them with precision at the nearest volcano. The dark energy splintered against the molten rock but managed to disrupt the flow of lava, causing the dragon to falter.

Cyrus leapt into the air, his aetheric energy surging around him like a protective shell. He vaulted over the dragon’s swinging tail and landed briefly on its back, aiming for one of the glowing volcanoes. With a powerful thrust, he drove his aetheric blade into the molten mound, causing an eruption of steam and rock.

The dragon roared in fury, shaking its massive body to dislodge him. Cyrus barely managed to hold on, stabbing his blade into the dragon’s molten scales for grip. As the beast bucked, he shouted down to the others. "It’s working, but I can’t hold on forever!"

The dragon twisted sharply, its tail whipping around with blinding speed. Sylus saw it coming and dove to the ground, rolling just as the tail demolished the ledge he’d been standing on moments before.

Jesua used the chaos to close the distance, her shadowy form weaving between geysers of molten rock. She leapt into the air, her hands glowing with dark energy as she unleashed a torrent of shadow blades at the dragon’s chest. The attack struck true, deepening the cracks in its molten armor, but the dragon retaliated with a blast of superheated fire.

Jesua melded into the shadows just in time, reappearing behind a jagged rock. She scowled, wiping sweat from her brow. "Its heat is overwhelming. We need to end this soon."

Sylus regrouped with Jesua, panting heavily. "We need a coordinated strike. Take out those volcanoes and hit its chest while it’s stunned."

Cyrus, still on the dragon’s back, yelled down. "I’ll distract it! Just be ready to move!"

The dragon reared up again, its body glowing brighter as it prepared another fiery eruption. Cyrus leapt from its back, landing on a nearby ledge and drawing its attention with a volley of aetheric energy. The dragon turned its molten gaze toward him, giving Sylus and Jesua the opening they needed.

Sylus charged forward, his frost sword glowing with an icy blue aura. He slashed at the dragon’s legs, coating them in a thin layer of frost that slowed its movements. Jesua followed up with a barrage of shadow tendrils, wrapping them tightly around the dragon’s limbs to hold it in place.

With the dragon temporarily immobilized, Cyrus unleashed a devastating surge of aetheric energy from above. The glowing beam struck one of the volcanoes on the dragon’s back, causing it to collapse in a spray of molten rock and steam.

The dragon roared in agony, its body shaking violently as the remaining volcanoes flared brighter. Lava cascaded from its back, forming a pool that forced the trio to retreat momentarily.

The dragon wasn’t done yet. It surged forward, its claws swiping with devastating force. Sylus blocked a strike with his frost sword, the impact sending him skidding backward. Jesua darted in from the side, her shadow blades slicing at the dragon’s exposed flanks. Cyrus, from above, continued to rain down aetheric energy, targeting the remaining volcanoes.

Despite their progress, the dragon’s fury only grew. Its molten body radiated an intense heat that distorted the air, and the trio knew they were far from victory. The battle pressed on, every move critical as they struggled to stay one step ahead of the fiery beast.

The lava dragon’s molten core pulsated, a fiery heart beating wildly within its crumbling frame. Every step it took left glowing fissures in the battlefield, the ground threatening to collapse under its immense weight. With a final, earsplitting roar, the dragon’s structure gave way entirely. Its molten body erupted into a flood of liquid fire, pooling and bubbling chaotically as the remaining fragments of its jagged frame dissolved into the molten mass. The heat was unbearable, forcing Sylus, Cyrus, and Athena to shield their faces as waves of blistering air rolled over them.

For a moment, all was still. The battlefield seemed eerily quiet, save for the soft, menacing hiss of molten rock cooling against the fractured terrain. Then, the pool of lava began to ripple, swirling violently as though something massive was awakening beneath the surface. Pillars of molten rock shot upward, spiraling together like strands of a fiery helix. The ground trembled as the lava began to take shape, rising higher and higher, a towering column of fiery power.

Where once stood a lumbering beast of rock and flame, there now emerged a serpentine leviathan of living magma. Its body was impossibly long, coiling through the air like a massive ribbon of molten energy. The fiery veins coursing along its form pulsed in rhythm, casting a brilliant orange and red glow across the surroundings. Each twist of its body left a trail of molten lava dripping to the ground, where it solidified into jagged, volcanic spines.

Its obsidian armor glistened menacingly, each shard a razor-sharp protrusion that shimmered like polished glass in the infernal light. The spines formed an almost impenetrable defense along its back and sides, a fortress of volcanic rock forged in the heart of the world’s fire. Steam hissed and roared as droplets of magma cooled into black stone before being reheated, creating a continuous cycle of destruction and rebirth.

At the head of the beast, its glowing orange eyes burned with intelligence and malice. They scanned the battlefield with predatory precision, focusing intently on the trio. The leviathan’s maw opened, revealing rows of jagged, molten teeth, each one dripping with liquid flame. It hissed, the sound a haunting blend of a snake’s warning and the roar of an erupting volcano.

As it moved, the heat intensified further, warping the very air around it. The waves of energy radiating from its body caused the edges of Sylus’s armor to glow faintly, while Athena’s staff sizzled when her magic clashed with the oppressive heat. The battlefield itself became a transformed hellscape, with newly formed volcanic ridges, bubbling pools of magma, and smoldering rockfalls.

The leviathan’s movements were unnervingly smooth for something so massive. Its molten body undulated through the air with an unnatural grace, flowing like liquid fire but striking with the power of a mountain’s collapse. Every twist and turn created new hazards, from rivers of lava to jagged shards of rapidly cooling rock.

The trio braced themselves, their breaths shallow as the leviathan coiled and hovered, its glowing eyes narrowing. This was not just a mindless beast of destruction—they faced an ancient force, one that had transformed itself into a living weapon of molten fury.

The leviathan lunged forward, leaving trails of molten lava in its wake. Sylus shouted, "Keep moving! Don’t let the lava trap you!" The group scattered, narrowly avoiding the burning trails as they hardened into jagged volcanic rock, creating hazardous terrain.

The leviathan twisted, its body surging across the battlefield. Sylus sprinted to the left, using the uneven terrain to leap over a trail of lava. He landed and immediately threw himself into a roll to avoid a molten swipe of the leviathan’s tail. The impact behind him shattered the ground, sending shards of rock into the air.

Athena conjured a wall of water to cool the terrain ahead of her, giving her a safe path to move. She channeled her magic into her staff, launching a torrent of freezing energy at the leviathan’s midsection. The attack solidified part of its body, but it quickly heated back up, melting the ice.

Cyrus leaped onto one of the hardened volcanic formations, using it as a perch to launch a spear of light directly at the leviathan’s head. The attack struck true, causing the beast to rear back, its molten form rippling in frustration.

The leviathan roared, parts of its body cooling rapidly before launching a barrage of obsidian shards at the trio. The shards whistled through the air, deadly and precise.

Sylus crouched low, deflecting one shard with a well-timed strike of his blade. He immediately sidestepped, twisting his body to avoid another shard aimed at his chest. Cyrus raised an aetheric shield, the shards ricocheting off in a spray of sparks.

"Athena, behind you!" Sylus shouted. Athena spun, creating a magical barrier just in time to block a shard that would have struck her back. She retaliated by firing a focused beam of energy, targeting the leviathan’s core. The beam pierced through, but the leviathan quickly reformed, its molten body flowing back together.
