They've already been able to know how many vessels were in the Southern Continent, and they were presently in the Western Continent, hoping to gather as much information as they could about the vessels. Grey's plan was to kill off all vessels who were willing to work with the Gnomes and to look for a way to save the others, if there was no way, then they would be sacrificed for the better good of the humans.
