War of Roses: The Proud Tycoon,Please Surrender!-Chapter 292: Fortunately, He Is Still Here, Fortunately, He Still Loves
"Sister, Brother Hao’s health has been deteriorating over the years, it’s not looking good. I’m asking you, please be honest about whether you still like him or not, and stop keeping him in suspense."
If you don’t like him anymore, it’s better to clarify it once and for all. He might be hurt once, but then he could move on.
If you still like him, that would be great. Be clear, and everyone would be happy.
Xue Xianglan was silent for a while, then spoke, "You should go back first. I’ll stay here and watch over him."
With that, Xue Jiarui was unsure what to make of it.
What was his sister’s mindset?
But her willingness to stay and watch over Xiang Linghao seemed like a good sign.
Hopefully, they could reach a happy ending, and Xiang Linghao wouldn’t have to suffer so much. Neither of them would have any more hardships.
"Then I’ll head back first. Sis, take good care of Brother Hao. Let us know immediately if anything happens."
Xue Xianglan glared at him, "What nonsense are you talking about!"
Xue Jiarui paused, realizing his mistake, quickly tapped his mouth and said, "Nonsense, nonsense. Sis, act like I said nothing. I’m leaving now."
Xue Jiarui chuckled twice and dashed off.
Xue Xianglan sighed helplessly, then turned her gaze towards the wide-open door of the hospital room, where Xiang Linghao lay quietly on the bed. She closed her eyes, then walked in.
Sitting by Xiang Linghao’s bedside, Xue Xianglan stared blankly at his face, thoughts of everything Xue Jiarui recounted echoing in her mind.
So all these years, you’ve lived so painfully, so tiredly.
I thought I was already hurting, but your suffering was so much greater.
I’m not even a tenth of what you’ve endured.
Xue Xianglan blinked her increasingly sore eyes. She couldn’t imagine how Xiang Linghao had managed all these painful years.
Her persistent avoidance, thinking it was just evasion, never realizing it was hurting him deeply time and time again.
Xue Xianglan reached out her hand, gently holding his. His hand was a little cold, so she held it tighter, trying to pass her warmth to him.
He remained unconscious, showing no reaction, but his breathing was calm.
Xue Xianglan quietly listened to his breathing, finding consolation in it.
Thankfully, he was still here; thankfully, he still loved.
She could hold his hand, and never before had she felt so grateful.
Xue Xianglan closed her eyes, pressing his hand to her cheek, feeling his warmth and breath.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry Ah Hao, it’s all my fault, causing you to become like this..."
Xue Xianglan softly apologized, but at this time, Xiang Linghao was not awake, showing no response.
In the silent hospital room, two hearts were invisibly drawing closer.
Ah Hao, I won’t wait any longer.
You care about me so much, so this time, let me take the initiative.
We will have a good ending, won’t we?
...
In the afternoon, after work, Tang Yuxiu and You Shuyang came to the hospital to see Xiang Linghao.
He was still unconscious. The doctor said he wouldn’t wake until at least the next day. With nothing else amiss, they left reassured.
Since Xue Xianglan was there, keeping guard, they thought this might be a blessing in disguise.
After leaving, You Shuyang went home first, while Tang Yuxiu continued inside, turning a corner to check on Old Sir Tang’s room.
As he passed a room, he glanced in passing. The door was tightly shut, with two bodyguards standing outside.
He walked past, and the door opened. A woman came out, carrying a tray of food.
"I’m going to clean up these dishes, you guys keep guarding well."
"Yes."
Tang Yuxiu turned to look at the sound, but the door had closed again, obscuring the scene inside.
Strange, why was he suddenly curious about other people’s business today.
In Old Sir Tang’s hospital room.
Tang Mubei remained seated when he arrived, reading a magazine.
Tang Yuxiu walked to the bed, looking at Old Sir Tang.
His condition seemed worse, with still no sign of waking up.
Tang Yuxiu slightly frowned, "Ah Hao has fainted now. Who knows about dad’s condition right now, whether he can wake up, or if Ah Hao’s research on the medicine has made any progress."
Tang Mubei closed the magazine, stood up, face equally solemn, "Developing new medicine isn’t an overnight task. I’m afraid dad can’t wait until then. Given the current situation, we can only leave it to fate."
Leave it to fate...
Those are the most helpless four words in the world.
There was nothing they could do.
The two brothers were silent for a long time, with neither saying more.
"Get her out! Get out! You bitch, daring to seduce my man, not daring to face me? Hiding inside, what kind of thing is that!"
Suddenly, the loud clamor of shouting and arguing came from outside the hospital room.
The two exchanged a look, Tang Mubei asked, "Who’s making such a ruckus in the hospital?" Especially on this floor.
This floor was for VIP patients, where the residents were either wealthy or distinguished, making it the quietest part of the hospital. No one dared cause trouble or casually chitchat here.
Though the two brothers weren’t ones to meddle or enjoy watching drama, the shouting outside was so loud it made them feel uneasy.
"Let’s go and see."
The two went out together, following the noise to its source.
It was a room they had to pass by in the corridor, outside of which stood two bodyguards.
At that moment, a woman in a dress and high heels, carrying a small leather bag, was hysterically cursing outside the room. The two bodyguards held her back, preventing her from approaching the room.
This woman was dressed nicely, and her brands were top-notch, suggesting she was a rich young lady.
"Even as a young lady, how could she act so unreasonably and rudely?"
Xue Xianglan approached them, crossing her arms, looking puzzled.
"Do you know her?"
"Seen her once, the daughter of the Song family."
"The Song family is considered prestigious. Why would she behave so inappropriately?"
How did the Song family teach their daughter to yell and curse outside the VIP hospital room?
"Didn’t you hear what she’s shouting? Accusing someone inside of seducing her man." Xue Xianglan sighed. "This is another love debt."
"Other people’s business has nothing to do with us."
"But when it disturbs us, it becomes related."
The three stood aside, watching to see how long the woman would keep cursing.
There were fewer patients on this floor, apart from some scattered individuals watching from the other end.
But no one stepped forward to stop her.
Likely because there were always two bodyguards outside the room, others might think someone important or someone with a strong background lived there.
They always believed that less trouble is better than more.
Rich people tend to be more cautious.
