Defying the Fate of Beheading-Chapter 619 - 330: Internal alliances aren’t something you can join as you please—pay up! _2
Louis had to admit, this person's intuition was exceptionally sharp.
From a cost-effectiveness standpoint, investing in him was indeed better than investing in the Ense Empire.
So he decisively accepted this goodwill.
As for whether "Louis was really hurt in the Dragonbone Prairie incident" was irrelevant; the key was to have an appropriate stepping stone for both parties to unite.
He turned to Teacher Jino and said:
"Teacher Jino, it seems some people don't want to be caught in a trap and are trying to delay our progress."
Jino shook his head and said, "You got one thing wrong, the followers of the Abyssal Church don't count as people, they're just a bunch of beasts."
Louis laughed and said, "True, the rats have grown considerably in the sewers over the years and now want to come out into the open, let's play with them a bit."
Jino suddenly said, "The Soldier Tomb Army specially formed by the White Crow Legion has arrived."
Louis nodded, "It's time to test the impact of the Soldier Tomb's blessing on the army, have the mages prepared the mechanized Mind Magic Scrolls over there?"
Jino nodded, "Of course, after all, it's the best way to maximize combat effectiveness."
Louis sighed and said, "It's a pity that if Lord Kulin hadn't been injured, he would have been quite suitable for organizing this battle."
Jino sighed but quickly regained his composure and said, "There's nothing to pity; if you hadn't had the master bind the Soldier Tomb, we wouldn't have detected the ambush, and I would have been in a bad spot when you arrived."
Louis looked deeply at Teacher Jino.
His face was so calm when he said this.
But Louis found it quite reasonable.
In fact, Teacher Jino's strength was not ordinary at all now.
Lord Kulin, as the Sword Saint, could at least play at top legendary combat power.
But Kulin's level was only LV20.
Teacher Jino was different.
He quietly grew to legendary rank while hiding from many people.
Perhaps at level 20, he accumulated so much experience that not long after breaking through to LV21, he smoothly advanced to LV22.
An exemplary Saint Realm could exert legendary power.
And the power of a legendary Saint Realm would soar directly to a demigod level.
So even the Sin of Envy could be easily dealt with when meeting Teacher Jino, barely surviving by relying on authority.
Seeing Jino's increasingly calm expression, Louis suddenly felt pity for the Abyssal Church's Fallen Star Sea branch members under siege.
Teacher Jino was heading there to start a sea battle!
...
Days later, after a night with Louis, Beatrice whispered in his ear:
"We're ready; after a rest, we'll prepare to teleport to the Lokeshi Border."
Louis gently stroked the red marks on her neck, and softly said:
"We have to be quick this time, can't let them escape."
"Mm."
That day, forces across the Star Continent dispatched troops, advancing in three directions to besiege the cultists of the Fallen Star Sea.
The main human forces gathered at the Stock Territory on the Lokeshi Empire's border with the Fallen Star Sea, advancing northward.
Participating forces included—
One-third of the Lokeshi Empire's First Legion, half of the Fourteenth Legion.
Part of the Ense Empire's Dark Crow Guard (responsible for intelligence gathering), newly formed Soldier Tomb Army from the White Crow Legion (responsible for direct attacks).
The Northern Grand Duke Knight Order, over 4000 members from the National Royal Knight Order of the Tunisian Republic.
The other two directions included the main forces from the Dragon Empire, Furnace Castle, and part of the Am Empire, responsible for setting up an encirclement from west to east.
Another side involved the main forces from the High Forest, Hidden Woodlands, Am Empire, and East/West Monet Kingdom, responsible for the longest stretch of coastline.
At this time, within the Lokeshi Empire's Stock Territory, a myriad of soldiers gathered.
Louis looked at the distribution, especially the elves, Am Empire, and East/West Monet Kingdom's encirclement, with some worry in his eyes.
"Hope everything goes well over there." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
General Locke of the Lokeshi Empire chuckled and said, "Don't worry, the elves and necromancers are quite reliable."
General Locke took a deep look at Louis.
During the Shadow Country campaign, he had meaningful exchanges with this Empire's prince.
Back then, his understanding of Louis was more based on status.
But now, this prince had achieved power on par with the Sword Master, which was truly remarkable in such a short time.
Louis nodded and said, "Indeed, the elves excel in long-range observation; many have the clairvoyance talent, and we rely on them for maritime reconnaissance."
General Locke continued, "As for the necromancers, they are the epitome of human wave tactics; assigning them the longest coastline is a reasonable use of their strength."
However, General Locke paused and instinctively looked at Louis, saying:
"But aren't the personnel sent by your side somewhat unprofessional?"
Louis leisurely poured a cup of tea for Beatrice beside him and said to General Locke:
"Their professional level and fighting capabilities are impeccable."
General Locke sighed and said, "That's certainly not the issue, but the problem is that the professionals you're talking about don't seem to be from the same team, do they?"
Louis nodded, "You noticed it, indeed, they are the elites from various teams within the White Crow Legion."
General Locke began to foster some ideas and looked at Louis with a bit of disappointment in his eyes.
Indeed, the personnel sent by the Ense Empire had high overall quality, but in large-scale military operations, sheer strength was not everything.
In broader conflicts, trust and seamless cooperation between soldiers make 1+1+1>3.
According to General Locke's understanding, in direct frontline collisions, he was confident that a similarly numbered but overall weaker veteran legion could crush this newly formed Soldier Tomb Army from the White Crow Legion.
This was baffling.
Has the Ense Empire lost its mind? This group needs further time to temper before reaching effective combat efficiency.
It's not like Regent King Beatrice is new to commanding troops; many of her battle techniques are still taught in some military academies.
Why would she allow Prince Louis to employ such an ambitious move to form a team without close battlefield training?
Unable to understand, General Locke chose to let it go.
It couldn't possibly be true that he was enchanted by a succubus?
However, he didn't notice Louis and Beatrice winking at each other, engaged in silent communication.
Despite General Locke's thoughts, the siege proceeded.
"The Mermaid Empire will send troops to help us track down the Evil God cultists beneath the sea; the ship and island battles above sea level will be left to us."
Upon General Locke's command, forces began dispersing to search the roaming ships of the Fallen Star Sea.
The operation unfolded suddenly.
Many fishing boats and merchant ships didn't understand what was happening before they were forced to stop for inspection by the various forces.
Fortunately, the nations of these ships were involved in the siege, and after boarding and presenting investigation warrants, everyone became considerably compliant, readily submitting to inspection.
However, some crew members were surprised to find that the investigators were specifically targeting certain individuals.
Some long-time employees were abruptly arrested once their identities were confirmed.
"How can this be... Anne's been working with us for over a decade, how could she be an Abyssal Cultist?"
"Fool, if Abyssal Cultists were so easily identifiable, they would have nowhere to hide on the continent."
"But they are indeed arresting people..."
"Is it possible that they already have most of the Evil God cultists' list and are just matching faces to names?"
There was an uproar at the scene.
Long-term partners.
A merchant caravan boss known for his kindness.
A benevolent old ship captain.
...
Groups of individuals were hauled away.
These were mostly Evil God cultists trying to escape with overt identities.
Yet the more frenzied cultists wouldn't harbor fanciful hopes.
It wasn't long before the first shipboard battle erupted.
