Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!-Chapter 17 -: 16 A shocking change!
The moment he heard the voice, Julius froze.
"Ron?"
His heart skipped a beat.
He could not recognize the voice itself. In the book, her lines were written, not heard. But he knew that name.
Ron.
That was the name of the doll she carried when she was little. It was mentioned many times. There was no mistake.
Julius’s eyes narrowed.
It has to be her.
He swallowed hard. For the first time since entering this place, real nervousness hit him.
He felt it in his chest.
He began walking toward the cell where the voice had come from. Each step felt heavier than the last.
’Is she really here?’ 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
There was eagerness in his eyes now. And something else.
Anticipation.
’If it is her... will I feel anything?’
’Will I feel what the past Julius felt? Will I feel what my Rose felt?’
His breathing grew slightly uneven as he moved closer.
For the first time, he was not calm.
In the novel, she was found by the hero. He adopted her and raised her like his own child.
But there was always something strange about her.
And it became even stranger when she met the villain... and the villainess.
It was not about her behavior. She was raised by the hero, so of course she hated the villains.
The strange part was not from her.
It was from them.
Whenever they stood in front of her, their expressions changed.
Sometimes they avoided hurting her.
Sometimes they looked at her in a way that did not match their usual cold nature.
Julius remembered this and let out a slow breath.
Then he finally stepped in front of the cell.
"Ron... eat. When our parents come, we will go out, okay?"
A small girl spoke softly.
She was very young.
Round face. Pink hair. Pink eyes.
Her face was dirty. Her clothes were worn out.
But she was smiling as she spoke to the half-torn doll in her hands.
Julius stood still. He stared at the girl.
He did not speak. He did not blink.
He just stared.
The man walked closer.
"Oh? So this is the girl you like?" The man looked at her with cold eyes. A small frown appeared on his face.
"I’m sorry. This one is already booked."
Julius did not move. His eyes stayed on the girl.
"Ron, I told you not to call my father your father," the girl said gently. She was scolding the doll in her hands.
The man clicked his tongue.
"Tsk."
"It looks like this girl really got to you," he said.
"But it’s impossible.
The client comes from a very powerful family. No one can change it."
He gave a fake sigh. "Pick another girl."
Julius still did not speak. His eyes never left her.
The pain started the moment he saw her.
It felt like a knife stabbed deep into his chest.
The knife turned slowly. His heart hurt so much he could not breathe right.
His mind became empty. No thoughts about revenge. No plans. Only her.
Her small, soft smile was the only thing in the world. Everything else stopped. The room became quiet.
Time stopped. Only her face remained.
"You see," the man said again,
"she is already booked. Someone powerful wants her. He is waiting for her to grow up."
The words sounded far away. Julius did not hear them. His world was only the little girl.
"Young master... are you okay?" Alfred asked from the side. His voice sounded worried.
Julius did not answer. He did not even look. Tears fell from his eyes. He did not notice.
His hand lifted. It shook a lot.
"Do I... know you?" he whispered.
The girl stopped playing with her doll.
She looked up at him. She gave the softest, brightest smile.
"Of course," she said in a gentle voice.
"You are my father."
Julius’s voice broke. "Fa... ther..."
He could not say more.
The man laughed loudly. "Don’t believe her. She says that to every man who looks at her too long. Pathetic."
"No wonder the client already paid so much. He likes them young... and easy to break. Just like you probably broke someone before."
Blood started to drip from Julius’s eyes.
Like red tears.
The air turned cold and heavy.
"What did you say?"
His voice was low. Very dangerous.
A wave of black killing intent exploded from him. It felt like dark fire. Everyone in the room felt it. It became hard to breathe.
The man stepped back. Cold sweat ran down his face.
"Haha... okay, okay... I misspoke—"
Julius took one step forward.
The man’s legs shook. He looked at Alfred. Alfred stood like stone. He did not move.
The man tried to reach into his pocket.
He wanted to call the guards.
He never got the chance.
In one blink, Julius stood right in front of him.
Julius lifted his foot. He placed it slowly on the man’s right leg.
"Ahhhhhh"
The man let out a guttural scream as Julius pressed down. The bone broke with a loud crack.
Black smoke came out of Julius like living shadows.
It wrapped around the man. It burned his skin with cold pain.
"Ugh..." the man groaned as he tried to step back.
However, Julius’s hand shot forward. His fingers closed around the man’s throat.
He lifted him off the ground.
His golden eyes turned red from blood.
They burned with murder.
"Alfred."
"Yes, my lord?"
Alfred stepped forward and bowed.
"Bring me everyone who works here.
Every single person. Noble or not. Bring them alive."
The man tried to fight. His nails scratched Julius’s arm. It did nothing.
"Cut off their arms and legs," Julius said quietly. "Bring what is left to me."
"Yes, my lord." Alfred bowed again.
Then he disappeared like a shadow.
