Villain transmigration: The doll maker.-Chapter 41: First flag
Birds chirping filled the cave waking me up from my slumber. I got out of my bed and dragged myself out of the cave to only be met with the morning sun burning painfully in my eyes.
I had been overexcited again yesterday and went to sleep late, but it had been worth it. The joy of finding that many flowers had finally sunk in.
"Master everything is ready."
Luna said the moment I got out. I nodded. A while later, we were all standing at the bottom of the hill, ready to hunt for flags. We had eight sand glasses before we got teleported back, and I only had one flag.
"How many groups are in the vicinity?"
I asked Luna. I had sent her to check since I wanted to have a specific estimate of their skills. Detecting would have helped, but I can only detect their location, not their power level. Maybe if my power increased, I could do that.
"Ten groups of four or five. The north eastern group has the most flags since most of them are around fifteen and sixteen stars."
Luna explained. I nodded looking around. Eight sand glasses were enough time to collect more than half.
"Luna, Isis, I need you two to get all the other flags I’ll be heading with Abeloin towards the north eastern group."
I commanded. They both nodded and flashed away. They should be able to deal with the other groups in no time.
"Why didn’t we go with them?"
Abeloin asked as we walked through the forest. Since it was still morning, the trees and grass had dew that kept getting on our clothes.
"You’re a drag most of the time ."
The truth of the matter was I wanted Luna to release some tension and fight. Since joining the academy she has not been able to leave my side and go adventuring.
This was the best opportunity for her to fight and get the flags faster.
The walk was quiet, with each of us lost in thought, until the laughter reached our ears. One girl and four boys surrounding her. We had found our targets.
"Are we going to sneak attack them?"
Abeloin whispered. Sometimes I always wondered how he was able to be intelligent, stupid and naive all at the same time.
I looked at the group of five students seated around a campfire cooking what seemed to be boar meat over the fire. I stepped through the bushes noisily and into the clearing where they were seated.
Immediately, they all picked up their weapons and turned towards me. The girl was unconsciously hidden behind all of them.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
One of the boys asked. He was the tallest in the bunch with messy bright blue hair and brown eyes staring furiously at me. He was holding his sword tightly in front of him as he pointed it towards me.
"Wait, that’s young master Lucian."
The girl who had been hidden behind the four boys stepped forward with a cheerful smile on her face. She was cute, that was the best way I could describe her. Large pink doe eyes that shone in the sun, long pink hair held in pigtails and a small body. She had that look of i want to protect this person. Now i got why those four boys surrounded her.
"Do you need something?"
She asked and walked towards me, her eyes becoming brighter with each step, and a blush started to crawl up her face as she looked at me shyly.
"Your flags of course. "
I said and pointed at the group of flags on the ground next to the campfire.
"You.." one of the boys, short and chubby with black hair that had been jelled back giving a view of his brown eyes.
"But that’s ours, young master. If you wish, you can join our team while we look for other flags, then we can share."
The girl cut him off. She tried to move forward and place her hand on my chest. She was trying to seduce me.
I caught her outstretched arm and threw her to the side. She screamed in surprise as her back hit the tree a few steps away.
The boys with her lost their concentration as they all turned to her.
’Bind’
A magic circle appeared under their feet before chains shot out from the group and wrapped around the four boys. Their flesh started to sizzle as the hot chains burnt into their skin. It wouldn’t kill them, but this was to teach them a lesson not point their weapons at me.
I turned to the girl who had stood up and was looking at me angrily. She clearly expected to seduce me.
"Your charm magic won’t work on me unfortunately, you’re just not my type. "
I could see her anger burst from my insult. I had already noticed the charm magic on the four boys. It wasn’t hard to hide since there were threds connect the boys to the girl.
It was a soft pink thread that wrapped around their throat and was held by the girl.
"Young master, I’ll give you all the flags as long as you release the four."
"Really i think the spell you’re activating behind your back begs to differ."
Seeing she had been caught a large pink spell appeared in front of her. Pink gas shot towards me from the spell circle.
I activated my shield, covering both Abeloin and me as the gas surrounded us, trying to get inside.
’Disperse’
The pink gas was gradually absorbed into the shield until none was left. I released my defence. The girl was looking at me in shock.
"What! How? It’s supposed to even go through shields why did it not go through yours? You’re supposed to be my slave."
She shouted her eyes going manic. A princess who used to get everything by charming everyone around her had her world just broken by me.
"Isn’t it obvious I’m stronger than you?"
I graced her with my answer. She looked at me as if the world had ended.
"Thats impossible. I’m a fifteen-star magician, there is no way you can resist my charm. I can charm those who are higher than me."
She mumbled to herself, her hands going to her hair, and started to pull frantically.
"As I’ve said, you’re not my type."
"No!"
She shouted. Three more spells started to form in front of her as she started to laugh manically.
I sighed heavily.
"Kill her."
A large familiar sword appeared on top of the girl and slashed down, cutting the girl in half mid-cast. The spells also broke in half just like their master.
Luna landed beside the split body, gracefully, her maid uniform dancing in the wind. She bent down next to the body and drew two small glasses of blood before walking to me and handing them to me.
"She would have made good research material but I’ll settle for the blood. Good job."
I complimented Luna, who bowed before walking to stand behind me. She had arrived quietly when the girl was rambling and situated herself on top of the tree above her waiting for my order.
Charm magic was a good type of magic to focus on, but the caster is basically useless in combat unless they decide to train themselves, which was a rare case.
The girl had been one of the best charmers among the first-year students, but she tried to bite more than she could chew.
I turned to the four who had been charmed to find them unconscious. I released the binding magic and they flopped to the ground.
"How many flags do we have now?"
I turned to Luna. She had quite a number of flags sticking from her pocket. One had to carry the flags by themselves since the flags cannot be placed in storage spaces.
"We have fifty in total."
I nodded. Not enough we needed more.
"Let’s head east , there is a larger group there."
I glanced one last time at the body and unconscious boys before leaving. The blood will eventually attract monsters nearby. I wanted us to be out of there before a battle for the body began.
We quickly walked towards our targets, avoiding any beasts lurking in the area, since we only had a few sand glasses to go, and meaningless fights will not stop time.
We came across several bodies of unlucky students. Fortunately, we didn’t encounter any more trouble as we walked forward, getting closer to our target.
It was a group of almost fifteen people, a rarity since everyone was looking to have the most flags to secure the winning prize.
The voices got louder and clearer as we neared the group. Sounds of swords clanging and slicing through flesh reached my ears. Then a loud roar came from the direction causing me to pause before continuing forward.
I reached the place where the group was, and more than ten people had surrounded a humongous cyclops.
There were various degrees of injuries on its body clearly from swords and magic. The reason we didn’t spot something so big was that it had been forced into a kneeling position.
An impressive fit.
