Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives-Chapter 1221: Cat Fight [Part 1]
Villain Ch 1221. Cat Fight [Part 1]
"Let's not make this a bigger deal than it already is," Allen said, his voice steady but tired. "The last thing we need is a full-on brawl in the middle of the market."
They stopped at one final stall, this one selling rare crafting materials. Allen handed over the payment. The merchant, a gruff alchemist with a patch over one eye, leaned forward conspiratorially.
"Word of advice, dude," the vendor said, his voice low. "If you don't want the attention, stop traveling with such beautiful women."
Allen stared at the merchant who had just teased him about his "harem" and sighed. "Yeah, thanks for the tip."
They'd barely moved to the next stall when the real trouble began.
A group of high-level female players stepped into their path, their armor gleaming with enchantments, their weapons practically screaming high-tier prestige. The leader, a knight clad in obsidian plate, stood at the front, her shield emblazoned with a glowing sigil that pulsed faintly. Her companions flanked her, a rogue with daggers that shimmered like starlight and a mage with robes that sparkled unnaturally, likely loaded with buffs.
The knight's sharp gaze swept over the group, narrowing on the girls clustered protectively around Allen. Her lips curled into a faint sneer. "You shouldn't flock to him like that. It's pathetic."
The casual disdain in her voice made Zoe twitch with irritation. "Excuse me?" Zoe said, stepping forward, her grin sharp and dangerous. "What did you just say?"
"You heard me," the knight said, her voice calm but condescending. "A player like him—an assassin of his caliber—shouldn't be surrounded by…" She waved her hand dismissively. "Clingy girls."
Larissa's eyes darkened, and she stepped up beside Zoe. "Say that again."
The rogue smirked, crossing her arms as she leaned casually on one of the market's decorative columns. "We're saying Al deserves better. He should be with someone capable, not a bunch of posers playing dress-up or e-girls."
"Oh, this is gonna be fun," Vivian muttered under her breath.
Allen raised a hand, trying to defuse the tension. "Look, we're just here to shop. Let's not make this a thing, okay?"
The knight ignored him, her piercing gaze locked on Larissa. "If you're as capable as you claim, then prove it. Let's duel."
The tension spiked instantly. Players around the market paused their activities, sensing the brewing conflict. A few whispers rippled through the crowd, and soon enough, a small circle began forming around them.
"You've got to be kidding me," Shea muttered. "This isn't worth our time."
"It's not about time," Jane said, her voice cool and measured. She stepped forward, tilting her head as she addressed the knight. "It's about respect. You think you're better? Fine. Test us."
The rogue snickered, pointing her dagger toward Bella, who was disguised as a modest sorcerer. "Start with her. She doesn't look like much. Should be quick."
Bella's eyes flicked to the rogue, her expression neutral but her tone dry. "So I'm the lucky one, huh?"
[Do you accept the duel?]
[Yes/No]
The notification hovered in Bella's vision. She didn't even hesitate. "Fine," she said, shrugging as she reached out to press [Yes]. "Let's get this over with."
The system chimed, confirming the duel had been initiated. The crowd murmured with excitement, players jostling for better views as the ground beneath Bella and the rogue glowed faintly, marking the dueling arena.
"You sure about this?" Allen asked, his voice low.
Bella smirked, rolling her shoulders as she summoned a simple staff that belied her true abilities. "Oh, I'm sure. Let's show them what happens when you mess with us."
The rogue grinned, spinning her daggers as she stepped into the ring. "This'll be fun. Don't cry when it's over, alright?"
Bella didn't respond. Instead, she raised her staff, her fingers glowing faintly with the beginnings of a spell.
The countdown appeared between them.
[Duel starts in 3… 2… 1…]
The rogue moved first, vanishing in a blur of speed as she activated her stealth skill. Gasps rippled through the crowd as she disappeared from sight, her daggers ready to strike.
Bella, however, remained calm. She stood perfectly still, her staff planted firmly on the ground as a faint smile played on her lips.
"Come on," the rogue's voice echoed faintly, taunting her from somewhere in the arena. "Stand still a little longer, will ya?"
Bella's eyes flashed, and the air around her suddenly dropped several degrees. With a flick of her wrist, she activated Ice Spikes, a swirling vortex of icy wind and razor-sharp shards erupting around her.
The rogue's stealth shattered as the spikes caught her mid-dash, sending her skidding across the ground.
[You have hit your enemy for 2,045 Damage ]
"Oops," Bella said casually, raising her staff as she followed up with Thunderbolt. The lightning bolt shot through the air, striking the rogue before she could recover.
[You have hit your enemy for 1,890 Damage ]
The rogue gritted her teeth, her HP bar dipping dangerously low. "You're tougher than you look," she growled, activating her Quick Reflex to close the distance between them.
But Bella was already prepared. She slammed the butt of her staff into the ground, activating Earthquake. The arena shook violently, knocking the rogue off balance just as she was about to strike.
[You have hit your enemy for 2,500 Damage ]
The rogue's HP hit zero.
The crowd erupted into cheers and murmurs, players clearly impressed by Bella's skill.
Bella turned to the group, a faint smirk on her face as she dismissed her staff. "Next?" Her eyes sparkled with amusement, clearly enjoying herself after dismantling the rogue with such ease. She dusted off her robe, the motion casual but carrying an air of confidence that left no room for argument.
She then pointed her staff at the towering knight. "How about you?" Bella asked, her tone smooth and teasing. "You've got all that shiny armor. Let's see if it's just for show."
The knight frowned, her hand tightening around the hilt of her sword. "Knight versus sorcerer?" she scoffed, her voice heavy with disdain. "What kind of victory would that be? I'd be a laughingstock if I won."
