Villain in a Fantasy World; I Level Up by Conquering Villainesses-Chapter 96: Battle against a Level 51 Roc
The moment Julian picked up the Spear, the surface of the spearhead immediately began burning with faint crimson runes.
BZZZ!
Julian felt the Spear draw at his essence, greedily devouring his qi even as the veins on his right hand squirmed in deep vivid patterns.
His red qi flared, counteracting the instinct of the Spear.
A normal Level 30 Awakened would have either been forced to drop the Spear immediately or would have been at the risk of death due to qi deprivation, but Julian was no mere Level 30 Awakened.
Due to his Dragon Qi Core, the Spear had no hope of draining his bottomless reserves of qi.
In terms of density, Puck already confirmed it that his current qi was the densest of any C Rank Awakened that she had ever met.
Julian forcefully tamed the unruly spear, then he turned to face Elena.
She nodded at him in a respectful manner, and without hesitation she turned to lead the way towards the training chamber.
...
Once again, Julian stepped into Dreadmoor’s main training chamber.
Like usual, the massive dark stone walls of the training chamber were deep and non-reflective as they seemed to drink the torchlights illuminating the chamber instead of reflect it.
The air was heavy with sulfur, old incense, and the metallic tang of spilled blood, evidence of Julian’s victims over the past few days.
Julian’s gaze swept across the sigils of binding and invocation that were on the black stone walls, glowing faintly crimson while pulsing with an unseen heartbeat while the others were as dark as night.
Like usual, standing inside this training chamber, though he knew that Elena was nearby, Julian could not help but feel like he was a predator in the wild where predators more powerful than him lurked.
He was a hunter aiming to hunt these powerful predators.
Julian finally focused on the chains of cold iron that hang slack from the ceiling, hundreds of them.
Every single one of these chains held at least one Level 50 Qi Beast, all restrained, trapped, and imprisoned for training purposes.
Despite the fact that he already killed some over the past few days, Julian couldn’t stay calm because he knew that every single one of these Qi Beasts were absolute monsters that could claim his life if he was reckless.
In Elena’s training plan time table, for today, Julian’s test was to fight against powerful Avian Qi Beasts to the death.
His grip on the Hell Piercer tightened, then he growled. "Do it".
"I’m ready".
Without hesitation, Elena’s qi flared, wrapping around one of the cold iron qi chains, and immediately a powerful and bloodthirsty presence erupted like a tsunami, drowning the training chamber.
BZZZZ!
Julian was subjected to the aura of the mighty Qi Beast as it finally stepped out of its prison where it had been held for years.
Julian wasn’t intimidated by its aura though, the bloodthirstiness of the Qi Beast only served to stimulate his own Dragon Bloodline.
Julian’s first opponent was a massive mythical bird-like monster similar to a mix between a Giant Eagle and a fantasy beast.
It was enormous, towering over Julian despite how tall he himself was. Its body was several times larger than the Demon standing before it, suggesting it could easily crush and carry large prey.
The moment it emerged out of its prison, it spread its wings.
Its wings were extremely wide and powerful, stretching outward like a living storm cloud.
Its pale gray feathers appeared thick and layered, appearing wild and scattered. This was an angry predator.
It had a sharp, curved raptor beak designed for tearing flesh, while its eyes glowed fiery red, giving it a fierce and predatory expression.
As for its talons, they were huge and hooked, capable of grabbing or shredding prey instantly!
The instant the Qi Beast appeared, Julian made all these observations and it immediately clicked to a name of a Qi Beast that he already read about in the Library.
’A Roc!’
At the same time, he used the Snooping Tool on it.
DING!

~----~
All this information flashed through Julian’s sight in an instant as the Roc’s eyes were already fixated on him, and before he could react the monster moved.
BOOM!
Rapid Dive!
It broke the sonic barrier immediately, arriving in front of Julian almost instantaneously as its massive talons aimed to tear the Demon to shreds!
In those few milliseconds that he had to react, despite the bloodthirstiness of the Qi Beast washing over him like a river tide, Julian remained calm as his predatory eyes narrowed into slits, calculating rapidly. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
In that short time, a single thought echoed in his head. ’It doesn’t have any noteworthy defensive trait!’
That was all Julian needed to know.
BZZZ!
His red qi flared like a tsunami.
Blink!
At the last moment, just before the powerful talons of the Qi Beast could sink into his flesh, Julian disappeared, appearing above the stunned monster.
Julian’s qi flared again, rapidly flowing into the Spear on his grasp as he thrusted at the Roc’s exposed head from above with devastating speed and force.
Hellfire!
Infernal Impale!
Thick tongues of violet-hued flames surrounded Julian’s body, focusing on his right arm and then on the descending blade of the Spear, then...
It struck its target.
KABOOM!
