In the driver's seat, Qing Yu frowned slightly at Mo Fan's exaggerated reaction and his uncouth, rogue-like demeanor, feeling a tinge of displeasure.
She had no idea where Lu Jun had found such a friend, but she said nothing and quietly focused on driving.
In the back seat, Lu Jun casually remarked, "It's just a Hongqi. If you want to drive, I can lend you a Rolls-Royce, a Porsche, or even a Bugatti Veyron. Take your pick."
"You're talking big, but in the end, you're only lending them?!"
Mo Fan's tone was laced with sourness, yet he couldn't help but be shaken by Lu Jun's extravagance. He cursed under his breath, "Damn, you're not actually serious, are you?"
"Wait a second..." His expression turned slightly fearful as he leaned toward the window and said, "With your looks, did you get yourself sponsored by a fat, ugly rich woman in college?"
Hearing this, Lu Jun was utterly speechless. "Where's your brain even going? Why not a beautiful rich woman instead?"
"Hehehe." Mo Fan cackled mischievously. "Old Lu, you get it. Money really does corrupt, huh?"
Qing Yu, in the driver's seat, couldn't stand this ignorant nonsense any longer and suddenly interjected coldly, "This is a Chief-level privilege. It's a government-assigned vehicle, earned through Lu Jun's strength."
At her words, Mo Fan was taken aback and blurted out, "Chief? What's that, the top escort at a high-end club? I've heard those rich ladies in Magic City are pretty wild."
Qing Yu couldn't be bothered to explain. Engaging with someone this clueless would only lower her own standing.
She simply said, "You'll understand once you enter Pearl Academy. With your talent, being able to reach the Chief level within three years would already be impressive."
As she spoke, a faint sense of déjà vu crept over Qing Yu. She felt like she had said something similar before—to Lu Jun, no less. Yet in the blink of an eye, she had been proven wrong, and she had even lost her own Chief position. Now, just thinking about it made her face sting with phantom pain.
Mo Fan? In one year?
She shook her head. Impossible, absolutely impossible. Someone like Lu Jun was one in a hundred years at Pearl Academy, a complete anomaly.
The Hongqi car slowly pulled out of the rundown residential complex. The neighbors watched with envious eyes as it sped away, whispering among themselves, some full of admiration, others filled with regret.
"Who would've thought? A phoenix rising from the ashes. Who lives in that building?"
"If I remember right, it should be Old Mo's place."
"What a shame. If only we had built a better relationship with them back then. If I'd known, I would've brought them a fish or two. Maybe it would've come in handy someday."
After a few idle chats, the neighbors dispersed. Simply surviving already took everything they had; they didn't have time for socializing. And precisely because they knew their own place in the world, they remained extremely wary of their neighbors.
Inside the car, as the vehicle pulled farther away from the complex, Lu Jun let out a small breath of relief.
Towards the back of the district was the magic prison established by his relative, the Red Fiend Lu Kun. It functioned by extracting mages' energy to enhance his own.
Of course, these days, it had mostly settled down and wasn't causing trouble. It was gradually learning the rules of human society, blending in, and wasn't particularly dangerous anymore.
Mo Fan clicked his tongue and said, "Old Lu, if I were a woman, I'd marry you on the spot."
"Get lost!" Lu Jun laughed and scolded him. "I'm here to pick up my son."
Two hours later, Qing Yu drove the two of them to Pearl Academy.
Mo Fan stepped out of the car, looked at the campus, and felt a surge of confidence. His abilities were perfected, ready to dominate the new students.
He turned back and saw that Lu Jun wasn't following him. "You're not coming in?"
"I've got other matters to handle." Lu Jun remained seated in the car and waved him off. "You're not exactly taking the conventional route. You need to register on your own, don't forget."
"Alright then." Mo Fan didn't mind. He had always been independent and never needed anyone to hold his hand.
With a swagger, he walked into the academy, completely unaware that he had already drawn the attention of many. People were secretly speculating about who he was—what kind of person warranted a send-off from the Chief of the Water Court?
A storm was brewing for Mo Fan, but that had nothing to do with Lu Jun. If anything, considering Mo Fan's knack for stirring up trouble, Lu Jun was more concerned about whether the freshmen in the Azure Campus could handle him.
Lu Jun did, in fact, have matters to attend to. His sister, Lu Mei, had called to say that Mu Nujiao and her close friend had arrived and that they would be having a family dinner together to get acquainted. Since they would soon be sharing a home, it was best to get familiar with one another.
Moreover, he had been thinking about the Star Vain and planned to visit the Azure Sky Hunter Agency with Lu Mei to take on some missions.
The missions there required team collaboration, with the minimum requirement being Advanced Mages. His sister had already mastered Advanced Magic, and after much effort, her third element, Fire, had now reached the Middle Tier, close to its peak.
As for himself, while he had yet to reach the Advanced level, with the Water element enhanced by the Water Repelling Bead and his other three elements trained to a considerable degree, who could claim he wasn't an Advanced-level combatant?
Before long, Qing Yu once again drove Lu Jun to the Golden Source Apartments, acting as his chauffeur for the entire day.
As soon as he arrived, he saw two vibrant young women standing downstairs—one tall, one short.
The taller one, Mu Nujiao, was dressed in a breezy summer dress, exuding elegance and nobility. She was poised and graceful, her figure curvaceous with an alluring hourglass shape. Her chest was well-endowed, and her overall proportions were strikingly perfect.
Beside her stood a petite young woman, innocent and adorable in appearance. However, what stood out the most were the two astonishingly large assets on her chest, bouncing energetically as she raised her hands to greet him.
It made one question the very laws of nature—how could such a small body contain such immense power? How did she even support such a weight? Wouldn't walking be exhausting?
This youthful yet... well-endowed girl could only be Ai Tutu, the daughter of a high-ranking military official. Her older brother, Ai Jiangtu, would become the captain of the National Team in a year and a half.
"Wow!" Ai Tutu, full of energy, excitedly exclaimed as soon as she saw Lu Jun step out of the car. "You're Lu The Butcher, the ruthless Chief Lu? You're even more handsome in person! I'm Ai Tutu."
Lu Jun smiled politely and nodded. "Nice to meet you."
The three of them entered the apartment together, with Ai Tutu chattering non-stop around Lu Jun.
He didn't mind her presence and, on the way in, turned to Qing Yu and said, "You've been driving around all day for me. Stay and have dinner with us; it's already getting late."
Qing Yu hesitated for a moment before following them inside.
In the apartment's living room, Lu Mei was dressed in a chef's apron, holding a spatula, her arms crossed. She saw Lu Jun walk in, accompanied by three stunning beauties, and let out a playful snort.
"Oh my, aren't you feeling quite accomplished? Four beautiful women at your service," she teased.
Mu Nujiao didn't mind the remark, knowing Lu Mei was just poking fun at Lu Jun. She covered her mouth and chuckled.
Ai Tutu's eyes lit up like a puppy discovering a new toy. She eagerly approached Lu Mei and curiously asked, "Lu the Butcher hiding beauties in a golden house? This is big news! And she's an older sister too! What's your relationship? How long have you two been together?"
The moment those words left Ai Tutu's mouth, Lu Mei's face turned slightly red. She shot Lu Jun a glare, feeling too embarrassed to clarify that she was his sister.
Lu Jun scratched his head and suddenly realized something—the majority of his social circle consisted of women. The only men he regularly interacted with were Professor Dazang, Mo Fan, and Zhang Xiaohou.
After chatting and getting to know each other for a while, Lu Mei noticed the time and returned to the kitchen to prepare a feast. The other three women quickly followed to help.
Lu Jun originally intended to help as well, but he was swiftly chased out by the four of them, deemed an unnecessary inconvenience in the kitchen.
Peeking into the small kitchen, he saw the four women—each with different figures and charms—crowded together, their bodies occasionally brushing against each other. As a man, squeezing in there would be inappropriate and risk an awkward situation.
It would be way too embarrassing if he accidentally touched someone.
So, he slumped onto the sofa, enjoying the sight of their busy backs. It was quite the pleasing view. To his surprise, Mu Nujiao, Qing Yu, and Ai Tutu all seemed to be skilled in cooking.
That night, the five of them had a wonderful meal together, even indulging in a bit of alcohol.
However, an unexpected situation occurred—Ai Tutu turned out to be a complete lightweight and passed out after just one drink. In her drunken state, she clung to the other three women, insisting they become sworn sisters, much to Mu Nujiao's embarrassment.
