Vampire's Veil Of Obsession-Chapter 136: Flowers..
Chapter 136: Flowers..
The chauffeur finally opened the door, and Lilia and Mira stepped out of the car. Evie followed closely behind. As they began walking toward the building, Evie spoke softly, "Mrs Lilia, Mrs. Mira, your reservations have already been booked." Lilia gave a small nod, and Evie led them toward the entrance.
As soon as they entered the large spa building, Lilia was greeted with a delightful sight. The bar was filled with an array of creams, hair products, skincare items, body care essentials, face masks, and more—all neatly arranged as people moved around, eagerly shopping. As usual, she didn’t expect Evie to lead them there—it looked like a place only meant for shopping.
Once they stepped inside the mirrored elevator, Lilia’s lips curled into a smile. "This is going to be a very exciting day," she said.
Mira nodded in response, then added with a wide smile, "Very true."
The elevator doors finally pinged open as Evie, Mira, and Lilia stepped out. They entered a compact but well-organized room that immediately drew gasps of awe from Lilia and Mira. Though it was a not to large space, every corner served a specific purpose and was neatly arranged.
One side appeared to be a salon section with chairs for hair styling, another was dedicated to massages, and yet another corner was set up for pedicures and nail treatments.
Lilia bit her lip softly, a smile forming as she imagined Zethan’s reaction to her new look. She hadn’t really thought much about these things before.
But now, she was genuinely excited—and she couldn’t wait for Zethan to return, hopefully in two or three days if her guess was right. That thought alone lifted her spirits. She decided a fresh trim to neaten her hair ends would be perfect.
Mira walked beside her as they both made their way to the salon chairs, where two attendants approached to begin the preparations.
The lady at the salon asked quietly, "Hello ma’am, which style would you like?"
Lilia responded in a soft voice, "Just a fresh trim at the ends, please. Don’t touch the length—just some curls and waves."
Then, after a pause, Mira spoke, "I’d like to straighten my hair. Smooth and sleek, please."
With that, they both sat on the chair as the ladies began their work.
Mira spoke quietly.
"You had left earlier back at the gathering. Tommy and I had wanted to meet you again. I was told you’d gone... I later realized what had happened. I’m so sorry—my condolences."
Lilia smiled softly in return.
"Thank you very much," she said, as the atmosphere turned quiet. Trying not to dwell on it any longer, she asked,
"How is Tommy doing?"
Mira smiled at her words.
"He’s doing well. Even though he sometimes dodges his fruits and veggies, I still make him eat them—it’s good for him. In fact..." she paused, giggling, "I snuck some fruits into his lunch pack today. I’m very sure he’ll look annoyed when I pick him up. It’s a rule at their school to finish every meal, so for sure, he’ll eat his fruit."
Lilia laughed softly at the cuteness of it. Mira really was a great mom.
"Hopefully he’ll have a little friend soon," Mira murmured.
It took Lilia a moment to realize what Mira was hinting at.
"Oh my..." Lilia said, her cheeks flushing softly.
"Oh yes," Mira grinned. "I hope to see a little one—or little ones—sooner or later. The next thing I’d love us to be planning is a gender reveal, and then a baby shower."
She laughed and added playfully,
"See? I told you I talk a lot. Take this as our little podcast."
Lilia’s lips curled into a smile.
"A little podcast it is, then. And I, too, am expecting a little one from you as well," she teased gently.
Mira laughed softly at Lilia’s words.
"There sure will be," she replied in a tender tone.
Lilia smiled again, but then her phone pinged. Her eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. She rarely used this phone—she hadn’t even taken it out in a long time. In fact, she hadn’t used it at all lately.
If she was receiving any message, it had to be from Zethan. His was the only number saved on that phone.
It was strange. She hadn’t called him once, though the thought had crossed her mind countless times.
But she was afraid. Afraid she’d be disturbing his working hours.
He had said it was an emergency business trip, and she didn’t want to..bother him.
Her heart began to thud loudly. She hadn’t even opened her phone yet, but just the thought that Zethan might have texted her made her nerves spiral.
For some unknown reason, she wondered what he could have sent.
’Just open the phone and check. Stop stressing yourself, sweetheart,’ her thoughts screamed.
But still, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Was he mad at her for not calling?
She had planned to discuss it with him once he returned from his trip. She wanted to ask how they could stay in touch during long business travels like this.
Her fingers trembled slightly as they moved to her phone. She turned on the screen, her heart pounding harder now. Her eyes widened slightly.
"Are you okay, dear?" Mira asked, noticing the sudden shift in atmosphere. The lightness from earlier had dipped into a quiet tension.
"Oh... yes, I’m fine. Thank you," Lilia whispered, forcing a small smile as she stared at the screen.
A recording had been sent to her phone.
From an unknown number.
How was that even possible?

Zethan sat in the backseat of the sleek black silk car as it sped toward the mansion. He was returning earlier than expected—he had originally planned to come home a day later, or possibly even later than that, depending on the schedule. But things had moved faster than anticipated, and everything wrapped up ahead of time, fortunately for him.
He was eager to see his wife. It felt like ages since they’d last been together—an unbearably long time. He was, of course, aware that Lilia had gone out with Mira, though it slightly surprised him. Still, he had no problem with that, and even so, it surprised him a little that his little Loris had actually agreed to go out with someone.
Then again, she deserved to enjoy herself. And truthfully, he couldn’t even remember the last time she had gone out alone with a friend—because she hadn’t. The thought stirred something unspoken in him—perhaps guilt, perhaps something deeper.
Zethan began to think deeply when his phone rang. His gaze drifted lazily to the screen, where a question mark flashed, indicating that the number was unfamiliar. He rarely received calls—especially during his non-working hours—but that question mark was enough to tell him exactly who it was.
With an expressionless gaze, he answered the call, and a woman’s soft voice greeted him from the other side.
"Mr. Zethan," the lady’s voice came softly through the phone. Zethan waited in silence, his expression unreadable, as he gave her time to finish what she had to say.
"I think there’s a problem," she continued quietly.
Zethan remained silent, unbothered, as he spoke coldly. "Lena, go straight to the point."
The lady’s voice trembled slightly as she explained. "The flowers... they’re glowing earlier than they should. This is not supposed to be so, as the potion is not ready...yet. There will be a loss on your side, Mr. Zethan. There still need to be a few more days for the potion to change its color—it hasn’t fully changed and..." there was a long pause.
Zethan, who had been unbothered, suddenly stiffened at the mention of the flowers. The lady’s voice grew more urgent. "It means the time it’s supposed to glow has been cut short. Any time soon, she will..." There was another pause before she spoke again, her voice shaky. "I’ll call you back, Mr. Zethan. I need to check something right now. It’s blinking, Mr. Zethan," she said before hanging up abruptly.
Zethan’s eyes widened slightly as the weight of her words sank in. The atmosphere in the car grew suffocatingly heavy—so dark that even Lucas, who was driving, could feel it. Zethan remained silent, his hands trembling as he gathered his things. An unfamiliar, gnawing fear gripped him, more intense than anything he had ever experienced.
He had always known about the flowers, their significance, and their connection to Lilia. But hearing that the time had been shortened—that the process was speeding up—struck a new, crippling fear in him. It meant that Lilia was running out of time. She would be dying sooner than he had ever anticipated.
In fact, the main reason why he had married her was because he knew—long before she even knew him—that she was going to die. That was why he had married her. She was the person who could unfold the secret to his past and bring back his lost memories of his ex-wife.freewёbnoνel.com
