Vampire's Veil Of Obsession-Chapter 107: Personal Pillow
Chapter 107: Personal Pillow
Zethan’s eyelids flew open.
Did she just call him "love"?
Oh, the urge he felt to tell her to repeat those words! But had she meant it, or did she just say it out of worry for him?
Lilia gazed at him as his fangs elongated further, but he stood there, unmoving—his eyes staring straight at her before trailing down to her chest. Finally, his gaze returned to meet hers.
"You’re aware this place is important to you. If I make the slightest mistake while shifting further, you... could be in...." He paused, and no one needed to explain what he meant.
Lilia’s chest rose and fell with her breath.
The main reason she had done that—exposed that part of herself—was because she thought, since it was his favorite, as he had once said in the car. She was worried. She knew how it felt to be hungry for something.
For some reason, it reminded her of the punishment she had once received back at home. Her parents had always been critical of her figure—her curves, which were more pronounced than her sister’s, especially around her hips. It was as though they couldn’t stand the way her body defied their expectations. Her figure, soft and exaggerated like a cartoon character’s, became the target of their resentment. The way they looked at her was filled with contempt. The hatred wasn’t just about appearance—it ran much deeper, stemming from something Lilia never fully understood.
In response to her "problem," they had punished her by allowing her only one meal a day for a whole week—just a small portion instead of the usual three. It was a cruel, silent way of forcing her into compliance, and it had hurt more than she cared to admit. The emotional toll had stayed with her, making her feel even more isolated in a family that saw her as an inconvenience.
"I’m sorry," she whispered as she pressed her lips into a thin line and shifted her gaze to the floor.
Zethan studied her, gently lifting her chin to meet his eyes.
"You don’t have to apologize. And stop biting your lips, Loris," he said, his eyes fixed on her plump, rosy pink lips, which she had been biting hard.
Lilia slowly released them, but her body went still as she felt his hand snake around her neck. His other hand moved to push the hair covering her shoulder aside, gently. He leaned in, inhaling her maddening scent.
Lilia’s breath hitched as she felt his lips graze her throat.
To her utmost surprise, he placed a soft kiss on her neck.
Her body froze as his fangs sank deep into her flesh.
Zethan’s grip around her tightened gently as he plunged his fangs into her vein. His body burned with heat as the intoxicating taste of her blood wrapped around his senses like a forbidden spell.
’GULP...GULP’
Lilia’s eyes shot wide open; the pain was fleeting, replaced by a strange, almost electric sensation that surged through her body. Just as the feeling intensified, Zethan pulled away.
They both stared at each other.
His eyes slowly returned to their normal blackness.
Lilia’s heart pounded as she watched him. He looked so effortlessly seductive right now. And if that wasn’t enough, Zethan stuck out his tongue and licked his lips.
Oh my heavens, that was so hot.
Lilia noticed his fangs retreating, but just as she was about to move, her vision blurred. She felt slightly dizzy, her hand moving to her head as she tried to steady herself.
Zethan caught her gently.
"You’ll feel slightly dizzy. This is your first time," he said softly.
Before Lilia could think any further, he scooped her up in his arms. His strong arms wrapped securely around her as he carried her to the bed and sat, allowing her to adjust herself on his lap.
"Do you feel better now?" he asked, concern in his tone.
Lilia nodded. It had only lasted a moment.
"How do you feel, honey?" she asked gently, moving her hands to his jaw, softly tracing the sharpness of it.
Zethan caught her hands, lips curling up into a slow teasing smirk. Then he placed her pinky finger on his lips, sticking out his tongue as he circled it around her pinky.
Lilia gasped, her heart racing. Shivers ran down her spine at the chilling, thrilling sensation.
"Tell me, Lilia, that no matter what happens, I’ll be the only man for you."
Lilia stared at him in surprise. Her expression soured slightly as she studied his face, but he gave nothing away.
Why was he saying that to her?
’Oh, Lilia, stop overthinking. He’s saying this to you. It’s normal for a husband to tell his wife this.’
Her face lit up with excitement, and she nodded.
"I promise," she whispered.
Zethan pulled her into him as she sat between his legs.
"How about you promise me too... that no matter what happens, I’ll be your only wife?" she said gently.
Zethan nodded.
"Yes."
As soon as those words left his lips, Lilia’s face sparkled with excitement. She pulled out her pinky finger.
"Pinky promise," she whispered with a soft smile.
Zethan shook his head slightly then brought out his pinky. Lilia immediately intertwined hers with his, then released it and hugged him tightly.
Zethan fell silent at her embrace. Then she mumbled softly, smiling widely.
"Thank you so much, honey. I’m glad I met you."
At her words, he chuckled softly.
"The way you boldly pointed at me that day..." he shook his head again, amused.
Lilia pulled back slightly, still sitting on his lap.
"Oh, I was so scared when I pointed at you..." she giggled. "Did you know how scared I was? I thought you wouldn’t go with the flow. Imagine if you had said no... Oh my, I would have married..." She bit her upper lip softly.
"You wouldn’t. My only reason for going there that day was because I knew I had to marry you," he said sincerely. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Lilia paused, her tone shifting to hesitant.
"You... knew who I was before the masquerade ball?"
Zethan nodded.
Her eyes widened in shock. But how? The first time she had ever met Zethan was at the ball. So how could he have known her when she didn’t know him? It didn’t make any sense. That was definitely the first time she had seen a silver-haired man.
"But how?" she murmured to herself, trying to make sense of it all.
"Who would ever forget such a pretty face like yours, hmm?" he teased.
Lilia’s face flushed.
"Oh no—you were so rude to me! Not to mention you called me a parrot!"
Zethan’s deep, rich laughter echoed through the room.
"That was because you talked a lot."
Lilia shot him a playful glare and crossed her arms.
"Oh no, Zethan. You were so proud and full of yourself," she muttered.
Zethan’s lips curved into a smile as he stared at her with admiration.
"Oh, was that why you called me a proud man?"
Lilia’s eyes widened again, her hand flying to her mouth. That day... she had barely whispered those words. In fact, when he began walking toward her, the shock she had felt couldn’t even be described.
"You know, Lilia, the more you keep widening those pretty eyes of yours, you’ll look like a real-life loris cosplay," he teased, chuckling and shaking his head.
Lilia gave him an annoyed look, though it resembled more a child upset at their father for not paying for lunch at the school cafeteria.
"Not funny," she huffed, but Zethan continued to laugh.
She couldn’t help but smile too.
Then she asked, "So... how did you hear me? Is it something to do with your vampire abilities?"
"Mmhmm," he nodded.
Things began to fall into place. She raised her fingers to her chin, thinking deeply.
"But... I can’t remember ever meeting you. Tell me, when did you see me? Where was I?" she asked curiously.
Zethan shook his head with a soft smirk.
"I’ll tell you—but not now."
Lilia pouted.
"But that’s not fair, Zethan..." she said softly.
"You don’t have to worry. I’ll still tell you," Zethan finally said, giving her a gentle nod as she slowly stood up from his lap.
"Let me freshen up," she murmured softly. But before she could move any farther, she felt a sudden, slow slap on her butt. Startled, Lilia jumped and spun around with wide eyes.
"You..." she began, pointing an accusing finger at Zethan, who now wore a comically innocent expression.
Feigning complete cluelessness, Zethan simply tugged her closer until she stood between his legs, her back facing him. Without warning, he leaned forward and rested his head gently against her soft, plump backside. Lilia’s entire face turned a deep crimson, completely caught off guard by his shamelessness.
"From now on, your butt is my personal pillow," he murmured with a lazy smile.
Lilia gasped, her mouth parting in disbelief. "You’re so shameless!" she snapped, tugging herself away from his grip. She stormed off towards the bathroom in a flustered rush, her steps quick and determined.
Zethan chuckled to himself, watching her retreat. Her hips swayed naturally with each step, and her round butt jiggled slightly, a sight that made his smile widen. She reached the bathroom and closed the door shut behind her.
As the room finally fell silent, Zethan leaned back with a long sigh, running his fingers through his hair. The smile that had lit up his face moments ago slowly faded.
This happiness... it wouldn’t last.
How was he supposed to tell her?
How could he possibly look her in the eye and say that she... the woman he is married to... was going to die soon?
