Yeon’s POV

The kids leave for the baby clothes, and I return to the hospital to see what the update is.

I had walked out as soon as the pup was brought out to keep from sobbing and distracting the workers.

The whole place is still busy but filled with undercurrents of happiness and a touch of worry for the omega that is in dire need of blood.

"Luna" a pack nurse calls me with a smile on her face, she is the one that attends to newborn pups in the pack, trusted old midwife.

"The baby is ready" she says and I follow her into the small in-clan nursery, it was built to be small and warm, a place our young ones can receive love.

The nursery is empty of pups at the moment except for the one child I came here to see, and there she is...my first grandchild, my granddaughter...Hwang Haeri.

I move closer to the cot she’s in with slow steps, it feels like something enchanting to meet her again, I look into the cot and find her clean and swaddled.

Her eyes are closed and I almost start to cry again at how small she looks, too small to be born at the due time and too big to be a prematurely born baby.

"How are her vitals?" I ask the midwife standing behind me, and she checks the notepad in her hand before responding.

"She’s perfect Luna, almost too perfect for a child that isn’t ready to be born" she says and I hear the smile in her voice, she sounds genuinely happy for the birth.

I understand her joy; she was there when I lost my other pups before Jaehyun was born.

"Congratulations Luna" she says and she brings a rocking chair to me, it’s the same chair I met Jaehyun for the first time in, still sturdy and perfect to hold me and my grand child.

I pick up the baby girl and sit on the chair carefully, holding her like the flower she is, our precious little jewel.

"Hi, Haeri-ah, I’m your grandmother...I’m a man but you can call me grandma, because I’m special like your mom" I say gently to her.

The way I introduce our family to her has me smiling through the tears, pride swells in my chest as I trace her face with my eyes, she’s so beautiful, the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.

"Look at you, our little hope" I say, sniffling a little as I look at her with all the love I feel in me.

She looks like a perfect twin of Jaehyun, she has his small nose, his pretty cheeks with her mom’s pouty lips added in the mix.

She turns her head slightly and I let out a small laugh at the sight of her hair, oh, she’s really Jaehyun’s daughter.

Her hair is thick, shiny and wavy but has only grown at the front of her head, Jaehyun’s twin.

"You are father’s daughter aren’t you, our little survivor?" I say and move in the seat, rocking slowly back and forth as I cradle her.

I can’t wait for her parents to meet her.

The nursery door opens and I look up to see who it is.

My husband.

He walks in quietly and shuts the door softly behind him, moving like a shadow as he steps in but doesn’t come in further.

"How is she?" he asks while keeping his distance from me, he knows that I am still very unhappy with him, he knows not to come near me yet till we sort out the mess he’s in.

"You can come and see for yourself" I reply without warmth and he comes closer, he doesn’t say a word but goes down on one knee next to us, he looks down at Haeri’s face, and I look at his own face.

My lord, my husband, my lover looks every bit like the man I fell in love with as a young, proud and stubborn omega.

That man would never have raised his voice at me. He dared not.

Already knowing what I’m thinking, he looks me in the eyes and drops his second knee to the floor, a complete kneeling for me.

"I did wrong" he says and I lift my head slightly, making it look like I’m looking down at him, "I’m sorry my love" he says, whispering his apologies.

"Never do that again" I say and he nods.

"Never again" he agrees and rests his head on my knees, his large frame folding up like this is ridiculous, but he does it for me, his luna.

"How’s Yujun doing, really?" he asks about the omega, we both know how difficult it is to successfully carry a pup as an omega man, Yujun faced so much trauma than I ever did...he has gone through enough stress to kill both he and the pup.

This is enough for me to believe he’ll be fine...isn’t it?

"The pup made it, I know he will too" I say softly and he lifts his head, "how are you?" he asks me, his scent softening for me.

We stare at each other, silently clicking with each other again, I know he sees the tears in my eyes.

"I feel so...happy, so proud...my- our grandpup" I say and return my gaze to the sleeping pup in my arms, "she’s so small but so big at the same time" I add and he reaches out his hand for the first time to touch her cheek.

"She looks like a prettier version of baby Jaehyun" he says and I smile brightly, "yes, she does" I say and Haeri opens her mouth to let out a small cry.

"Little princess must be hungry already" I say, rocking gently to shush her but she only fusses even harder, "stubborn one too" my husband chuckles.

"I’ll get a nurse to help" he says and gets up to leave.

I hum softly as I try rocking back and forth to calm her, then she opens her eyes, the sight of her eyes forces a loud gasp out of me.

"M-my Lord..." I call my husband back. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Yes?" he asks, pausing with his hand over the doorknob.

"You need to see this" I whisper.
