Jaehyun’s POV

I am Hwang Jaehyun.

The mad dog of Hwang clan, the reckless motherfucker responsible for the putting down of countless men.

I have faced death head-on a hundred times all through my life as the son of Lord Hwang.

I walked into shootouts without bullet proof, faced feral alphas without weapons, hell, I’ve gone into traps deliberately unprepared.

But none of them has sent fear coursing through my veins like the way the thought of losing Yujun is doing.

I’m fucking losing my mind with terror.

My alpha is restlessly pacing my mind, scratching, howling and whining for the omega.

He just returned to me, what the hell is he permitted to scare me like this?

Doesn’t he know he owns my fucking life? Doesn’t he know that he’s the thread keeping me sane?

"Fucking hell" I groan and grab my hair in frustration.

"Get yourself together" my mom snaps at me and I drag my palm down my face, forcing myself to breath.

"Mom, what is happening?" I ask in fear, "a male omega is a rare thing, and a male omega successful carrying and delivering a pregnancy is an even rarer thing" mom says.

"His body is trying to protect him from stress by shutting down, he needs all the help he can get to support the pup" he explains to me.

His face is set straight, like nurse attending to patients, not like a mom attending to her son.

"But he’s okay...right?" I ask, getting even more scared as I realize...this is mom looking at the same trauma he faced.

Reminded of how many pups he has lost as well.

"He will be fine; he shouldn’t have gone this long without an alpha’s scent" mom says and turns fully to look at me.

"That’s why I need you to put yourself together, son" he says to me in a softer tone.

"Fuck" I curse and run my fingers through my hair for the hundredth time.

"Can you do that for us?" mom asks and I nod my head, I can do that, I can climb over a mountain right now if I have to.

"What exactly do I need to do?" I ask and mom looks at Yujun with a softness that can only be motherly, "just be here, hold him...introduce him to your scent again, and I just know he’ll be fine" mom says.

He pats my shoulder twice and beckons for Yunah and Gawon to follow him, Gawon stands in her spot, she doesn’t want to leave.

"You’re sure he’ll be fine ahjussi?" she asks with a shaky voice and mom gives her a small smile, "positive, come on you, it’s time to take care of you too" he says.

He doesn’t even know the girl, yet he’s already adopting her.

That’s my mother, the Luna of the Hwang clan with a heart of gold.

As they all leave, I climb into the bed to lay next to Yujun, gently bringing him closer to my body and pressing his nose into my scent gland.

I stay like that for what feels like hours before his entire body shakes and I immediately release my pheromones; the omega pulls himself closer to me.

"I’ve got you" I whisper into his soft hair and he hums.

"Jaehyun" he calls my name, and I tighten my arms around him, "yes, it’s me, I’m right here" I say.

"That’s a relief, I thought I was dreaming...I didn’t want to wake up" he says, his speech comes out slurred from just waking up.

"It’s not a dream" I say, keeping my voice low and gentle, and his body relaxes, melting into mine.

We stay silent for a few seconds, and I feel a shiver run through Yujun’s body, I pull away sightly with worry to look in his face.

"Are you okay?" I ask but he doesn’t respond, his scent is starting to stabilize, changing from the sour distress and slowly softening into the Jasmine I have gotten addicted to.

I hug him tighter, I never want to let him go, I will tear apart anyone who tries to snatch him from me without hesitation.

"Alpha" Yujun calls in a small and I look down at him, his eyes are glassy, he looks like he’s checking if this is real...

Fuck...what happened to him while he was away from me?

"Junnah, tell me what happened" I say to him, and he shakes his head before hiding his face in the crook of my neck.

’Omega is hurting’ my alpha growls.

"I don’t want to" he whispers and I groan, "please...I’ll go crazy if I don’t-"

"Jaehyun, let it go" he says, his voice is tired but his message clear, I bit down on my lip to keep from asking again.

"I just want this moment with you" he says and I nod my head even if he isn’t looking at me, "please" he adds.

Silence settles in the room again, this time it feels more natural, like two lovers just existing within each other’s space.

The shudder runs through his body again.

"Alpha" Yujun call in that same small voice, and I look down at him as he bares his neck for me and I swallow thickly.

"Yes...?" I ask, my voice coming out hoarser than expected as I swallow again.

"Scent me" he whispers and my alpha perks up.

Our omega is asking for something so intimate, something so personal...our omega trusts us to mark him with our scent.

I whine in my throat as I dip my head to press my nose into his scent gland.

The scent coming from him is still slightly sour as I run my nose along the length of his neck, releasing my scent as I do, and a soft sigh slips out of his lips.

Eager to take the sour note out of his scent, my alpha makes a whimpering sound that I don’t bother hiding as I seek out his gland, this is my Yujun.

The omega I am willing to die a hundred times for, the omega I am willing to kill a hundred men for.

My alpha growls as Yujun pulls me off his neck.

The look in his eyes is something I never imagined I’ll see.

He wants me as much as I want him...goddess.

"Jaehyun...Jaehyun kiss me" he says and I hold his neck to pull him down and connect our lips.
