Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 862: Encountering an Unreasonable Security Guard
Chapter 862: Chapter 862: Encountering an Unreasonable Security Guard
"Do you even know what that place is? Be careful, or the security guards might come out and beat you up," Fang Rong said irritably.
"I live there," Xiang Yu replied calmly. He was wondering if those security guards, who were selected meticulously, could really be that uncivilized.
"Oh, come on, stop bragging," Fang Rong rolled her eyes at Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu didn’t bother to explain. Since she didn’t believe him, there wasn’t much he could do.
Fang Rong kept driving outward. Xiang Yu, sitting in the passenger seat, frowned and asked, "Why are we heading out of the city?"
"Didn’t you say you wanted to have dinner at my place? I’m taking you there now," Fang Rong replied, throwing him another glance filled with annoyance.
Throughout the drive, Fang Rong talked a lot—about their college days, about her work after graduation.
"What about you? What have you been up to these past two years?" Fang Rong glanced at Xiang Yu.
"Nothing much," Xiang Yu leaned back in his seat and replied casually.
Knowing that he hadn’t been doing well, Fang Rong tried to comfort him. "Don’t lose hope. You’re still young; there’s plenty of time ahead."
Xiang Yu just smiled faintly without saying much. They had driven for over an hour and arrived at a small county outside the city.
Fang Rong drove into a residential complex, parked the car, and hopped out.
Xiang Yu got out and took a look around. The neighborhood wasn’t large, but it was fairly orderly.
"Stop standing around and come help!" Fang Rong called out. She had bought a lot of things and couldn’t carry them all herself.
Xiang Yu quickly came over to help, following her upstairs. When they reached the third floor, Fang Rong unlocked the door with her key.
"Dad! I’ve brought a friend over. Guess who’s here?" Fang Rong shouted excitedly.
Carrying the bags, Xiang Yu walked in. The interior was modestly decorated: a three-bedroom, one-living-room layout with a simple and elegant style. But there was no one else inside.
"Wait here for a moment. I’ll go look for him; he’s probably playing mahjong next door," Fang Rong said, taking off her coat and heading out.
With nothing else to do, Xiang Yu wandered around the apartment. In the middle room stood a bookshelf filled with books, showing that Fang Kuohai had a habit of reading.
After ambling through the apartment, Xiang Yu finally sat down and poured himself a glass of water. Suddenly, he heard a commotion outside.
By the residential gate, a few security guards were detaining a middle-aged man, arguing with him.
"I told you, I didn’t take it! I just came back from grocery shopping. My daughter’s visiting today, and I need to cook quickly," the middle-aged man said.
"Cut the crap. If it wasn’t you, then who? You were the only one who went in there," one of the security guards retorted, grabbing the man’s collar.
"Young man, watch your words. If you make baseless accusations, it’s slander," the man replied.
"Cut the bullshit. Come to the security office first, then we’ll talk," the guard sneered, pulling the man by his clothes toward the office.
"What are you doing? Can’t we talk this out?" the man tried to reason.
"Stop! What are you all doing?" Fang Rong’s voice rang out from a distance.
Since Fang Rong didn’t come home often, the security guards didn’t recognize her. Seeing the sudden appearance of a beauty, their eyes lit up like stars.
"Who is he to you?" the chubby security guard asked.
"What’s it to you? Why are you detaining him?" Fang Rong demanded angrily.
The middle-aged man was none other than her father, Fang Kuohai. Hearing from neighbors that he had gone out to buy groceries upon knowing she was coming home, she had come out looking for him, stumbling upon this scene by chance.
"This old man stole a wallet in the lounge," the chubby guard said arrogantly, like a small-time thug.
"Watch your mouth! Who stole your wallet? Where’s your evidence?" Fang Rong walked over, relieved to see her father unharmed.
"We have surveillance footage," the guard replied.
Fang Rong trusted her father’s character and followed them to the security office. They played a video clip there. The footage was blurry, only showing a vague silhouette, making it impossible to identify anyone.
Fang Rong nearly exploded with rage upon seeing this and pointed at the guard, yelling, "This is your so-called evidence? How does this prove it’s my father?"
"Look at it! Who else could it be? That gray outfit, that sturdy build," the chubby guard said as he brazenly eyed her up and down.
Fang Rong wanted to strangle him. In the neighborhood, there were at least a dozen people dressed like that. Yet, they had the audacity to detain her father—it was utterly outrageous.
Fang Kuohai usually lived alone, and Fang Rong seldom came back. She couldn’t believe the security guards here were this terrible.
"Now I’m starting to suspect you’re all in on this. You’re not going anywhere today!" the chubby guard said with a lascivious smirk.
These security guards were local hoodlums who lived for free meals, lazed around, and bullied people for fun. Seeing a beauty like Fang Rong, they weren’t about to let the opportunity slip by.
"Get lost!" Fang Rong, infuriated by the vile chubby guard, spat out the expletive and began dialing the police.
The chubby guard, however, took a step forward, trying to snatch her phone away.
At that moment, Fang Kuohai stepped in front of Fang Rong and grabbed the guard’s wrist.
Who was Fang Kuohai? Back in the day, he was a force to be reckoned with in City One. Though he hadn’t trained in years, his skills hadn’t dulled.
"Young man, don’t push things too far," Fang Kuohai said, his eyes flashing with cold light before quickly softening.
"Let go!" Another guard, seeing Fang Kuohai dare to fight back, glared and rushed over.
Without a word, the guard swung a slap toward Fang Kuohai, who didn’t want to escalate things. He let go of the chubby guard and stepped back to dodge the slap.
"You bastard! Dodging, huh? Today, I’ll make you pay!" The guard cursed and aimed a kick at Fang Kuohai. freēwēbnovel.com
Fang Kuohai took the opportunity to pull Fang Rong out of the security office.
"You’re supposed to be security guards! Why are you stirring up trouble here?" Fang Kuohai admonished sternly.
"Shut up! We’ll deal with you first, then talk," the two guards snarled, charging toward Fang Kuohai.
Fang Rong, who had seen her fair share of fights back when Fang Kuohai ruled City One, wasn’t easily intimidated. In the urgency of the moment, she decided to call the police. By then, the two guards were already closing in.
Fang Kuohai chose to evade instead of fighting back. However, the more he avoided, the more emboldened the guards became, thinking he was afraid, and pressed him harder.
As the situation grew chaotic, a young man stood leaning against a tree not far away, watching silently.
The man was tall and slim, with sharp, chiseled features and undeniable good looks. It was none other than Xiang Yu. He didn’t rush to intervene; he wanted to see how Fang Kuohai handled it first...
