Chapter 855: Chapter 855: Meeting Old Friends

Fang Rong was thrilled to see Xiang Yu, happily bouncing around with excitement. When Xiang Yu tried to take her to a spot with a better view, Fang Rong laughed heartily and said, "This is the best place! I was the first one to rush in here."

Xiang Yu didn’t bother explaining and just pulled her along.

"Hey, don’t lie to me! If you dare lie, I’ll never let you off!" Fang Rong shouted from behind.

Fang Rong was Fang Kuohai’s daughter. Back when Xiang Yu first arrived in the city, Fang Kuohai was the big boss he followed.

Xiang Yu remembered clearly that Fang Kuohai had washed his hands of the underworld for good.

Xiang Yu dragged Fang Rong all the way to the observation deck’s office. The space inside was large, extravagantly decorated.

Fang Rong rushed in, her mouth agape in joy, nearly jumping with excitement. She quickly ran to the windows to watch Su Yongzhen’s race.

"Is it expensive to watch the race from here?" Fang Rong asked eagerly, taking a closer look at Xiang Yu. Seeing Xiang Yu dressed in casual clothes, she thought he didn’t seem rich.

"You must be a big fan of Su Yongzhen’s cars; otherwise, you wouldn’t spend so recklessly," Fang Rong commented, her eyes fixed on the racetrack.

Tie Zhuzi, standing nearby, was visibly displeased. Saying Xiang Yu was a fan of Su Yongzhen’s cars? Utter nonsense.

He was about to speak up, but Fang Rong suddenly let out a piercing scream, shouting, "Quick, overtake him! Come on!"

Xiang Yu thought something serious had happened and immediately looked toward the racetrack. Only then did he see Su Yongzhen’s car sandwiched between two others. If he didn’t break free quickly, the situation would become dangerous.

Yet, at that moment, Su Yongzhen remained calm. He hit the brakes, creating a gap between him and the others. Then, he swiftly slammed the accelerator, darting out from the other side.

Though Su Yongzhen’s team also had two cars in the race, one of them was driven by a standard racer who wouldn’t engage in any malicious actions.

After overtaking his opponents, Su Yongzhen began to accelerate again. At this moment, his mind flashed back to Xiang Yu’s driving skills.

Xiang Yu’s techniques were forged in life-or-death situations, under conditions hard to imagine for ordinary people.

Standing on the high vantage point, Wang Hongbin kept observing the race. Watching the widening gap between his team and Su Yongzhen, he grew furious, stomping his feet in frustration.

"Useless! All of you are useless! Two of you can’t even handle a single brat!" Wang Hongbin roared in anger.

"Big brother, don’t get worked up. The real show is yet to come," He Guisheng said as he handed Wang Hongbin a remote control.

Holding the remote, Wang Hongbin looked somewhat uncertain. Last time, it had been this very device. He had lingering fears in his heart, feeling as though this thing was nothing but trouble.

"You’re sure it’s all set up?" Wang Hongbin asked skeptically.

"Don’t worry, big brother. There’s no problem at all. Mr. Ren Baohe assured me that if it doesn’t work, they will take full responsibility. Plus, this is a long-range induction-trigger remote control. Even if they discover the bomb, as long as we press the button here, it’ll still go off," He Guisheng replied proudly.

After all, he had been the one who arranged everything, and if the bomb failed to detonate, it would be his reputation at stake.

At first, He Guisheng hadn’t trusted the device much either. But after conducting several tests, he came to believe in it completely.

Wang Hongbin relaxed slightly at He Guisheng’s reassurance. Although He Guisheng hadn’t been with him for long, he executed every task meticulously, making him very dependable.

Just then, Wang Li appeared behind them. His face was swollen badly from what was evidently a beating.

Wang Hongbin glanced back at him briefly before refocusing on the remote in his hands.

In his eyes, Wang Li was worthless at the moment. Even if someone beat Wang Li to death, he wouldn’t feel an ounce of pity.

He Guisheng also looked at Wang Li, smirking disdainfully before continuing to explain the remote to Wang Hongbin.

Seeing He Guisheng’s contemptuous expression, Wang Li felt a surge of anger as though he might cough up blood. He remembered when He Guisheng had been nothing more than a dog in front of him—now, unbelievably, he had risen above him.

Wang Li didn’t say a word and stood there silently, suppressing his rage. One day, he vowed, he’d deal with He Guisheng for being an ungrateful traitor.

Initially, Wang Li had planned to wait for Xiang Yu to return, but it wasn’t Xiang Yu who came back—it was Tie Zhuzi and the other man.

Tie Zhuzi entered, seeing Wang Li, and without a word, started beating Wang Li violently.

If not for Xiaoxuan pulling him back, Tie Zhuzi might have crippled Wang Li.

Tie Zhuzi wasn’t concerned with such things. Whoever annoyed him would face his fists upon sight.

Wang Li realized that if he wanted to stay with Xiang Yu, he’d first have to win over his two closest companions. Now, he began devising ways to curry favor with Tie Zhuzi.

At this moment, Tie Zhuzi was sitting on the sofa, bored and zoning out, the deafening cheers from outside making him irritated.

He didn’t get along with Su Yongzhen because he found him obnoxiously boastful, always talking himself up as though he was untouchable.

That bragging overshadowed Tie Zhuzi’s own brilliance, so he disdained Su Yongzhen.

"Look, look! He’s taken the lead!" Fang Rong clapped excitedly.

Xiang Yu stood there watching, unable to stop himself from feeling nostalgic. Two years had flown by, yet he was still struggling in this urban jungle.

He thought of when Commander Cao summoned him to the office, and he remembered his first meal of roujiamo in the city.

"How is your father doing now?" Xiang Yu asked Fang Rong.

Fang Rong seemed not to hear him, her face still brimming with enthusiasm as she kept her gaze fixed on the race outside.

Xiang Yu could only shake his head helplessly. He turned his own attention back to the outside scene, where Su Yongzhen’s car was far ahead, his victory practically certain.

The two vehicles behind him realized catching up wasn’t possible, so they slowed down instead.

Su Yongzhen saw this clearly through the rearview mirror, sensing danger, and quickly warned, "Xiao Wang, slow down and pull over."

Xiao Wang, trailing far behind and knowing he couldn’t catch up to Su Yongzhen’s team, wasn’t planning to try. He was merely honing his skills.

But upon noticing the two cars ahead slowing down, he became excited, aiming to dart past them.

Just then, Su Yongzhen’s urgent voice came over the radio, instructing him to pull off to the side.

Though Xiao Wang didn’t know what was going on, he quickly slowed down and stopped about a hundred meters away from them.

The two cars had initially slowed down, anticipating Xiao Wang to catch up. But upon seeing him stop, they discussed briefly before reversing at high speed toward him.

Over ten thousand spectators were stunned by the spectacle. What was happening? It was their first time seeing race participants reversing during a competition—could this be some new rule?

On the high vantage point, Wang Hongbin was so angry that he nearly slammed the remote control to the ground.

"What are these idiots doing..."
