Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 308: Shopping for Clothes at the Mall
The night passed quietly. At six in the morning, Lin Kuang called Yang Ruoxi to tell her he couldn’t make it today. Although Yang Ruoxi was a little disappointed, she still cheerfully agreed.
Having woken up early, Lin Kuang was also feeling rather gloomy. He had no clothes to wear, so he could only sulk in his room, unable to do anything. What a depressing situation.
However, at half-past eight, there was a knock on the door.
Lin Kuang froze for a moment before saying, "Come in."
"Come in, my foot! This is my dad’s tracksuit. Try it on."
As she spoke, the door cracked open just enough for Lin Guo’er to stick her hand through, holding a white tracksuit.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang quickly walked over. He tried on the tracksuit and found that while a little loose, it fit well enough. At least he wouldn’t be trapped in his room anymore.
"Not bad, it fits well enough. I’m heading out now," Lin Kuang said with a grin, pushing the door open and stepping out.
Outside the door stood a neatly dressed Lin Guo’er. From her sleepy-eyed expression, it seemed she hadn’t fully woken up yet. Liu Shilin and the Witch were nowhere to be seen.
"Where are Shilin and the Witch?" Lin Kuang asked curiously.
"They’re downstairs having breakfast. You’re coming with me to buy clothes later—for you, too," Lin Guo’er said wearily, rolling her eyes at him.
When she got up this morning, she felt like she could barely walk. It took her a while to get used to it, and even now, a dull ache remained.
"Ahem, Guo’er, are you alright?" Lin Kuang asked quietly.
"What do you think, you jerk?" Lin Guo’er snapped, turning to walk away. Her steps were very small, though it was hardly noticeable if you weren’t looking closely.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but feel awkward and followed her downstairs.
Downstairs, Liu Shilin and the Witch were waiting for them at the dining table. Neither of them had started eating.
Lin Kuang stared, taken aback. Liu Shilin was wearing what must have been Lin Guo’er’s clothes. They looked fine on her, except that the thin fabric couldn’t quite hide the prominent points of her nipples.
The Witch, however, left him completely dumbfounded. Her chest, already magnificent, was squeezed into Lin Guo’er’s clothes, making it look so voluptuous it was almost criminally tempting.
At the sight, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but swallow hard. She’s so damn captivating!
Noticing his gaze, both Liu Shilin’s and the Witch’s cheeks flushed red, especially the Witch’s. She was well aware of the allure her body held for men. Even though they had been intimate, with Lin Kuang staring so intently and other people around, she couldn’t help but feel shy.
"Keep staring and your eyeballs are going to fall out," Lin Guo’er, who was standing beside him, teased with a laugh.
Lin Kuang’s face instantly filled with embarrassment, and he quickly looked away. "Ahem... well, this delicious food must have been made by my dear Shilin. No one else could possibly replicate this flavor," he said with a wide grin, sliding into the seat next to her.
Hearing this, Liu Shilin’s cheeks turned rosy. She shot Lin Kuang an exasperated look, but couldn’t help the sweet feeling bubbling up inside her.
"Let’s eat, let’s eat. After breakfast, you’re coming with me to go shopping," Lin Guo’er said with a smile. At her words, the four of them began to eat.
By the time they finished breakfast, it was already nine in the morning, right when the major shopping malls were opening.
"Shilin, Shiyu, you two wait here at home. Lin Kuang and I will go out and buy you clothes," Lin Guo’er said with a smile, looking at Liu Shilin and the Witch.
"Okay, you two go ahead. We’ll wait for you here," Liu Shilin replied with a smile.
Lin Guo’er nodded and then left with Lin Kuang. He got behind the wheel of her BMW Mini, and the two of them headed straight for the mall.
"Which mall are we going to?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he drove.
"Just drive. I’ll give you directions," Lin Guo’er said irritably.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang scratched his head awkwardly. "Alright... you’re a bit grumpy today," he mumbled.
"Of course I am! How would you feel if you had to endure pain just from walking?" Lin Guo’er retorted, glaring at him fiercely.
"Uh... well, I can’t say I have," Lin Kuang said awkwardly.
"Jerk! I can’t be bothered with you!" Lin Guo’er said, annoyed. This guy is just the worst!
Hearing this, Lin Kuang wisely decided to keep his mouth shut, not wanting to ask for more trouble.
Lin Kuang drove into the mall’s parking lot and found a spot. They both got out and headed toward the entrance.
When they reached the mall entrance, Lin Guo’er beckoned to Lin Kuang with her finger. "Come here."
Lin Kuang paused for a moment, surprised, but still walked over to her obediently. "What’s up, Guo’er?" he asked, curious.
"Nothing, I just want to hold your arm. It’ll be easier to walk that way." As she spoke, she wrapped her arms around his, resting her head on his shoulder. Her pretty face was slightly flushed, but her eyes shone with happiness. Opportunities like this are so rare, after all.
Seeing her like this, Lin Kuang felt a pang of guilt. I’ve really done her wrong.
"Guo’er, I’m sorry," he said emotionally as they walked, his voice laced with remorse.
Hearing his words, Lin Guo’er’s heart trembled, and a deep warmth spread through her. She knew exactly what he was apologizing for, which made her feel even warmer inside.
"That has nothing to do with you. This is the path I chose, so I’ll bear the hardship and pain myself. Of course," she added, looking up at him cheerfully, "if you really feel sorry, you can just love me properly and make it up to me." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
At her words, Lin Kuang pulled her into a tight hug. "Don’t worry," he said with great seriousness. "I will."
"Okay, okay, I know. Why are you being so sentimental?" Looking into his deep, determined eyes, Lin Guo’er felt her own eyes begin to redden.
"True. I just wanted to see if you’d cry," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
"’Pfft, as if!" Lin Guo’er retorted irritably, rolling her eyes at him.
At this, Lin Kuang just smiled faintly. Being with Lin Guo’er felt wonderful—so easy and natural.
Chatting and laughing, they arrived at a Yashi-branded store. Once there, Lin Guo’er let go of his arm. After all, this shop was directly operated by Yashi, and it wouldn’t look good if someone saw her being so intimate with a man.
