Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 288: THE THIRD PARTY
Hazel had to stop herself from the urge to run over Logan’s car, because Ashlyn was inside.
"Fuck!" Hazel grunted as she saw Logan’s car take a sharp turn and go off the main road. He saw her. He recognized the car, and he knew that his plan had failed.
Hazel took a sharp turn as well and almost caused a chain reaction crash. Horns were blaring because of the recklessness.
"I swear, I will never get into the car when you are behind the wheel again," Lucian said. He felt like he had lost ten years of his life. "Even if I am at gunpoint."
But Hazel didn’t have time to think about that. She was right behind Logan’s car, and they took a turn onto the outskirt road, so it was rather bumpy, and the road was rather small.
Even though it was a two-way road, you should be extra careful when passing each other.
The problem was that Logan drove his car in the middle of the road; he didn’t allow Hazel to drive past him and cut his path. He would be done for if she managed to do that.
"We are being followed," Desgar said calmly. He was the only one who had not yet said a single thing ever since Hazel sat behind the wheel, until now.
"I know." Hazel glanced in the rearview mirror. She had ended Ranon’s phone call as he sent Dalton and a few others to assist her, despite what she said.
"Being followed?" Elric and the other two didn’t notice that. How could they notice when they were scared for their lives? They turned their heads and saw two cars that followed them. "Oh, shit. What should we do now?"
Hazel would deal with whoever was following her later. After she got her daughter. Her main focus was on Ashlyn. She was going to kill Logan for sure if her daughter got even a scratch.
Once again, Logan blocked her way, and now the other two cars followed her closely; they were right behind her and hit the rear of her car.
"Fuck!" Lucian cursed. He watched from the corner of his eye as Elric and Alen were ready with their guns, and so was Desgar. "Why did no one tell me that you brought that thing with you?" He had none.
Hazel then swerved the car; she used the rough road on the side to drive past Logan’s car.
The car jolted over the bumpy, muddy road as Hazel floored the accelerator. In an instant, she gained the right momentum and swerved back onto the main road, positioning herself directly in front of Logan’s car.
She didn’t immediately step on the brakes, but instead, she forced Logan’s car to slow down and then completely stop.
Once it did, Hazel got out of the car, and she snatched Elric’s gun, since she didn’t bring one.
"No, don’t go out, we will..." Elric didn’t get to finish his words when Hazel already went to the window on the side of the driver and pointed her gun at it.
She aimed at the corner of the window so that the glass would crack and shatter.
Logan screamed like a little child, and Hazel heard her daughter was also crying from the backseat. It angered her because she didn’t mean to scare Ashlyn.
However, her anger got the best of her, and now they had an unfriendly companion. Hazel had to move fast. Negotiating with Logan had never been on the list.
If it were not for Ashlyn, Hazel would have aimed for Logan’s head, since the car was not bulletproof. She could have killed him, but it would have been too messy for the little girl to witness.
"Hazel, I am sorry. I am sorry; I can explain this... I am sorry. I have no other choice; I am so sorry." Logan was rambling, but Hazel had already unlocked the back door and gotten her daughter.
"Mama... mama... Uncle is naughty. Uncle is bad..." Ashlyn hugged her mother tightly. She buried her face against Hazel’s bosom. Her little body was trembling, and this made Hazel’s chest tighten.
"It’s okay, baby. It’s okay. Mama is here." Hazel kissed her forehead, but she didn’t have the chance to indulge in this reunion, because from the corner of her eyes, she saw eight men get out of the car; their guns were at the ready.
Hazel wouldn’t be able to get to her car, and she would be in the line of fire if she tried. So, she jumped into Logan’s car and told him to drive.
"Drive, now!" Hazel shouted at him from the backseat, as she heard the gunshot had started between Desgar and his men against those people.
"I can’t... I can’t..." Logan lowered his body as he clutched his head, covering his ears from the gunfire outside. He had never been in this situation, and this was the first time someone had fired at him. "I am sorry, I am so sorry... I only want to get my son..."
"Fuck, Logan, drive!" Hazel was enraged. She couldn’t get to the front and drive the damn car herself because Ashlyn wouldn’t let her go. She was crying so hard now because of the loud noise from outside and the tension. "Drive now, you dimwit!"
"Okay, okay... But your car is there..."
"Drive in reverse, run those people over!"
"What? I don’t want to commit a murder."
"They are going to kill you! Do you want to die to uphold your damn morals?!" Hazel hated it when she had to swear in front of her daughter, but this stupid brother of hers frustrated the hell out of her. "Drive now!"
Hazel saw Elric get shot, and Lucian dragged him back to the car. They needed to leave this place right away and drove to safety.
Meanwhile, Logan started reverse driving and ran over two people, which made them fire the car like crazy.
"Turn around the car!" Hazel shouted at Logan. She was frustrated because she had to give him a pointer. Couldn’t he take the initiative on how to escape this situation?
The truth was, Logan had stopped using his brain; he moved based on Hazel’s command and the rush of adrenaline. He had no idea how to escape this situation.
Logan turned the car around after he ran over three people and caused one of the cars to flip over, so they were driving toward the main road again.
"Who are they?" Hazel asked when they got away from the skirmish. She hoped Desgar would manage to get the others out of there, too.
"I don’t know..." Logan shook his head. "I don’t know. I was told to get Ashlyn to Aspen City, or they will hurt my son. I am sorry, Hazel. I am sorry. I didn’t mean any harm to your baby..."
However, Hazel was not interested in his apology. She was going to deal with him later. "How did you get Ashlyn out of the apartment? Do you get help from inside?"
Logan paused for a moment before answering her hesitantly. "The—the head of your security..."
"Fuck!" Hazel cursed loudly. She needed to tell Ranon about this. If it were the head of his security, then it would be so dangerous for Ranon to be in the dark.
Hazel couldn’t believe that Gayle had managed to infiltrate Ranon’s security team.
"Give me your phone!"
Hazel was going to call Ranon when, suddenly, there was a gunshot, and the car was flipped over. Out of instinct, Hazel curled her body around Ashlyn, who was screaming out of fear.
She took the brunt when the car was flipped over into the ditch and then stopped.

Ranon didn’t get back to the apartment, but he got the rundown about what happened from Leon, his head of security.
From what he said, Logan drugged all of the people there. In total, five men were unconscious, and Renna had to be rushed to the hospital because her condition was severe, among the others, due to her old age.
"I will add more people around the apartment. There is no casualty."
Ranon then hung up the phone after he gave some instructions. He then looked at the tracker again, but it didn’t move from the last spot he saw it, and it had been twenty minutes since Hazel managed to catch up with Logan’s car and hung up their phone call.
Ranon tried to call again, but no one answered his call.
Therefore, he returned to Daniel’s bedroom, where he could hear his brother crying and screaming for Ranon to see him and stop whatever the twins were doing to Issabella.
But before Ranon entered the room, Paxton walked out. He scratched his head. "He is looking for you." He was about to look for Ranon.
"What did you do to her?" Ranon asked.
"We stripped her naked and shaved her head. Damn, I don’t want to hit a woman, especially when she is not in her right mind. That woman is mental. She laughed when I shaved her head; it was as if she were possessed. Now she’s staring at Daniel without blinking. Hell, it’s scary." Paxton shuddered. He volunteered to look for Ranon and leave his brother inside to deal with the situation.
However, before Ranon entered the room, he got a phone call, and on the screen, his wife’s name appeared.
"Hazel, how is it there?" Ranon picked up the call almost immediately.
"No, it’s me." It was Lucian’s voice that Ranon heard.
