Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 306: Underground Casino
"The Dunn Family entrusted Fiona Dunn to me, so I can’t let anything happen to her, otherwise I won’t be able to explain it to the Dunn Family." Seraphina Sinclair frowned slightly, looking grave.
Fiona Dunn is usually so loud and bubbly. Although she’s quite clever, her personality could cost her dearly when dealing with tough people.
Thinking of this, Seraphina quickly took out her phone to call Fiona, but it turned out that this girl wasn’t answering.
"Mommy, maybe Fiona is just out having too much fun and didn’t hear the phone," Jude Sinclair raised his head and said.
"That’s possible, but she has no relatives in Bayside City, where could she have gone alone?" Worry gnawed at Seraphina, and she gently patted Jude’s head, "Look at her phone’s location."
Jude nodded: "I’ll check now."
Initially worried about managing Fiona, they installed a real-time location tracker on her phone, which proved useful in this situation.
"Mommy, where is this location?" Jude, not very familiar with Bayside City as he mostly stayed at home, wasn’t sure where this map location pointed to.
Seraphina took a look at the tablet, and her face changed instantly: "Jude, stay home like a good boy. Mommy’s going to get your Fiona and will be back soon."
"But Mommy..."
"Ma’am, aren’t you eating?" Chloe Irving came out holding a dish just as Seraphina was about to leave.
Seraphina didn’t answer, hurrying off.
Jude pouted, mumbling to himself: "What kind of place makes Mommy so anxious?"
"Where did the lady go?" Watching Seraphina hurry off, Chloe couldn’t help but peek at the coordinates on the tablet, and her face changed color instantly, "Oh no, it’s dangerous for her to go alone, I must help her."
"What’s going on, Chloe, what kind of place is this that makes both you and Mommy so tense?" Jude was also getting nervous and asked quickly.
"Young master, this is the underground casino in Bayside City." Chloe’s lips trembled slightly, "Young master, it’s dangerous there. Once you step in, it’s hard to get out. I don’t know how Miss Dunn got in there, but it’s dangerous for Ma’am to go alone, I have to help her."
Jude was flustered: "No, I have to go too." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"There are all sorts of people there, it’s unsafe. You, a child, should stay home and wait for news." Chloe said as she took off her apron.
Watching her swift actions, Jude couldn’t help but ask: "Chloe, aren’t you afraid?"
"We used to deal with this kind of thing before, so I..." Chloe replied quickly, almost forgetting she had to keep her identity secret from Seraphina and Jude.
"Deal with this kind of thing?" Jude, always perceptive, immediately grasped the essence of what she said, "To confront people from the underground casino, you must be either police or the same kind of people. I don’t think Chloe is a bad person, so that means..."
Some things needn’t be spelled out, Chloe understood his implication.
After all, she had already taken the risk of being discovered when she chose to stay, she sighed: "It’s something like that, though a bit different from the police."
"Could it be..." Thinking of the combat skills Desmond had taught him, Jude fell into deep thought.
"There’s no time, with Ma’am’s rudimentary fighting skills she’s no match for those thugs, I need to set out quickly," Chloe said as she went back to her room to change into more convenient, tight-fitting clothes.
After giving Jude a few instructions, she left.
Watching Chloe leave, Jude sat on the sofa fiddling with the iPad.
If that casino is as dangerous as Chloe says, relying on just Mommy and Chloe wouldn’t be enough.
He could have asked Desmond for help before, but who could he turn to now?
Jude was anxious, and suddenly a figure popped into his mind.
He quickly dialed Keith Hughes, and upon hearing about Seraphina heading to the underground casino alone, Keith’s eyes darkened.
"Don’t worry, I promise your Mommy will return to you unharmed," Keith assured Jude.
After hanging up the phone, Keith turned his chair around and coldly instructed Ian Lynch: "Watch your people, if they harm Seraphina, you know the consequences."
"What’s this about?" Ian was puzzled.
"She went to the casino," Keith glanced at Ian with an inscrutable expression.
Ian quickly understood, laughing dismissively: "Ah, so that’s it. Don’t worry, I’ll instruct my people to take good care of her and make sure she stays safe."
Bayside City underground casino.
Laughter and curses filled the air, the buzz even more intense than a nightclub bar.
It took Seraphina a lot of effort to get inside, and as soon as she entered, she saw Fiona Dunn standing with hands on hips at a gambling table, shouting loudly, "This is all my chips, let’s play big this round, shall we?"
The man facing her pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses with a devilish smile, "Alright, since you want to play, I’ll play with you."
"Let’s do it, who would be afraid of you?" Fiona raised her eyebrows triumphantly, a hint of smugness on her face.
"Good, this young lady indeed has courage, let’s begin then," the man with the gold-rimmed glasses smiled eagerly.
Both parties pushed their chips onto the table, as the beautiful woman beside them began dealing cards.
Watching the scene, Seraphina was so angry that her face turned purple.
This Fiona!
Being reckless is one thing, how dare she come to this place.
"Fiona Dunn!" She marched over to Fiona and grabbed her arm fiercely, glaring at her through gritted teeth, "Are you crazy? How dare you come to a place like this?"
Fiona turned her head to see Seraphina, breaking into a wide grin, "Seraphina, why are you here? Perfect, let’s play together."
It was only then Seraphina noticed Fiona’s face, flushed red like an apple, paired with the heavy scent of alcohol wafting off her. How did she drink so much?
"Enough, stop playing, let’s go home." Seraphina, her head aching, tugged at Fiona intending to leave.
Yet Fiona pouted and broke free from Seraphina’s grip, "I just got here, let me play a bit more!"
"Come with me!" Seraphina wasn’t about to argue. Knowing the place was crawling with trouble and how deep the gambling scene ran, she couldn’t possibly let Fiona stay.
"I won’t go! I won’t go! I want to keep playing!" Fiona, clearly drunk, screamed and clung fiercely to Seraphina, refusing to budge.
Seraphina’s frustration bubbled over, her face nearly turning green with anger. If it wasn’t for Fiona being drunk, she’d be tempted to slap some sense into this girl.
"Stop playing, your brother Joel just called, looking for you. Come with me now," with the situation as it was, leveraging Joel White was probably the only way to get Fiona home.
