Chapter 725 Last Day in the Capital

When they came out of the room, Matt was stunned to see Richard stood not far from Kevin.

"Richard, didn't I tell you not to bother with them again?" Matt asked with a dark expression.

"Don't be so angry, Matt," Richard laughed. "I just have a hearty talk with this little leader. In fact, we have reached an agreement, so you don't have to worry about us so much."

"Agreement?" Kanae asked curiously.

Richard took a good look at Kanae for a moment as he recalled the information he had gathered regarding this young lady. Truth to be told, he felt that this woman was more complicated to handle rather than the man. She might appear more amiable, but he knew that she wouldn't back down so easily.

"Yep, this grandpa won't disturb us anymore," Kevin pointed to Richard with his thumb.

Hearing the word 'grandpa,' Matt had to resist the urge to not laugh. Even though Richard was already quite old, he didn't like being called grandfather. In his eyes, he was still very young and fit.

"Yes, I won't disturb you anymore," Richard replied. "The military also will not attack your city as long as you don't initiate an attack on us. Or in other words, you have to stay loyal."

Kanae smirked. "The people inside also said the same thing."

Richard looked at the two of them with astonishment. It seemed that they were unable to find any loopholes from the two people in front of him. From what he knew, trying to make sure they didn't find any loophole would be difficult.

"I'll be going now. And brats, I'm not that old."

Kevin didn't reply as he stood up and examined Kanae up and down. Only after he was certain that she was fine did he stop. "Let's return back. We're going home tomorrow."

"Yes!"

Matt sighed. "Don't take what Richard says to heart. He might be annoying because his priority is always the country. Still, he has some feeling."

"He's a good military leader," Kevin said shortly.

"I'll take care of your ticket and permission. You two can enjoy your stay in this city for the last day."

"Thank you, Brother Matt," Kanae smiled.

"Call him 'uncle.'"

"Oops, I forgot."

Matt: "…" so you're the one who influenced her to call me uncle.

The two of them returned back to the hotel. This time, they didn't visit any other places and merely spent their time playing together. There were some board games that the hotel provided, so they spent their time playing them.

"You win again," Kanae frowned. She tossed the die on her hand to the side. With this, Kevin gained the lead by 2 wins from her. "It's really hard to beat you."

"Luck is an important aspect in life," Kevin smiled and pulled the girl closer to him. "Let's have some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a long day."

"I'm sure that I'll just sleep in the plane again."

Recalling Kanae's face when she slept, Kevin sighed to himself. It would be another round of torture for him again. Previously, he was already suffering in agony because she slept beside him. If she slept in the plane again, he was pretty sure that he wouldn't be able to have any rest at all.

"Do you learn anything during your stay here?" Kevin changed the subject.

"A lot of things," Kanae grinned. "I have just found out that the variety of food can be made to make a complete set. There are also various new items that I have never seen before…."

As Kanae uttered out everything that she got from their two weeks stay, Kevin listened quietly. He also found most of the things that Kanae mentioned to be interesting, but he would let the girl mention them first. They might have different ideas on the design.

"Jason will be the one to try to expand the ideas," Kevin concluded after they had finished. "I'll just work on the basics and earn the materials."

"That'll be a good idea," Kanae nodded her head in agreement. The picture of the City of Crime washed over the 'crime' name seemed to be extremely enchanting. It wouldn't be easy to wash off the brand that had latched over the city for decades, but it was not impossible.

"You're going to work in the company again," Kevin brushed Kanae's hair with a tender smile. "This time, you're not only a secretary, but also co-owner of the company."

Kanae smiled brightly. Even though she was not that fond with the thought of working behind the desk all day, she would be willing to do it. With the speed at how she worked most of the time, she would make sure that she had more than enough time to rest and do other things.

"What's your dream job in the past, Kanae?" Kevin suddenly asked.

"Dream job?"

"I'm sure that you have a dream when you're a kid, right? When you grow up, what do you want to be?"

Recalling her childhood time, Kanae remembered that she just didn't want to inherit Nali Family's business. Even though their family barely had any because her father worked as a researcher, they still got income from those middle-size companies. Her parents wanted both of them to be the successor and while Laura, her sister, welcomed that notion, she didn't want it at all.

Creating troubles at every lesson they gave, she made sure that she wouldn't get picked to continue the business. It was kind of cunning in her part, but she hated the upper-class society because of how fake they were.

"I don't know." Kanae shrugged. "I never have any fixed dream about my future. All I wish when I'm small is just staying away from my uncle and the rest. As for my job, I don't really mind anything."

"How about now?"

"Now?" Kanae tilted her head. "I think it'll be more than enough to work with you."

She didn't really have anything that she loved to do. Well, she loved fighting, but staying vigilant all the time was a bit tiring. She had had enough of that live for the past few years. Occasionally fighting would be fine as it was fun to spar with her friends.

Not hearing any response from Kevin, Kanae turned her head to the side. She was shocked to see the faint blush on Kevin's face. Did he feel embarrassed?

"Kevin?" Kanae reached out her hand.

"I'm fine," Kevin blocked her hand using the slightest strength possible as he turned his head around. The answer she just gave to him was so unexpected that he didn't know how he should respond.

Kanae smiled wryly. "Don't give me that 'I have to decide on my own future' talk. I'm already the owner for several companies, so I don't really have to work aside from managing them."

Even though she said it in a light tone, both of them knew that managing the company was not easy. It would require a lot of hard work on her side. There might be a lot of sleepless nights in the future waiting for her.

"While you're here, do you also work?"

"I do," Kanae replied. She brought her laptop for a cause. Most of her work was inside that laptop. During most of the time, she would play around the city to see various things and the rest of the time would be spent to take care of the business she had.

"You too, right, Kevin?"

"You really know me very well," Kevin smiled tenderly. He pulled Kanae closer and gave a light kiss on her cheek. "Let's just do our work before going to bed. I'm sure that there are already a lot of documents that you have to see."

"Yep," Kanae giggled. "We're going to have sleepless nights because of work after we return."

"Let's make sure that we won't sleep deprived too much. Time to work, Kanae."

"Yes, Kevin!"
