Under the vampire Lord's protection-Chapter 209: The true purpose
Chapter 209: The true purpose
When the sun came out again, Arabella awoke to the realization that Silas’ arms were still wrapped around her.
The sole Developpement since the previous night being that he had rested his chin on her shoulder instead of her head.
The vampire immediately figured out she was no longer sleeping upon sensing the sudden stiffness that had consumed her entire body.
"Morning," the whisper caressed her ear, only emboldening the rigidity that locked her in place.
"Good morning to you as well," she blurted a little too quickly.
The warmth he provided was beyond tempting, sucking the determination to stand up and free herself from his hold.
Not only that, but she also wondered how he’d interpret that initiative. Would he be offended?
Silas did confide in her that he wished she’d be more comfortable expressing her thoughts and needs around him, but what did that encompass? How far did it exactly extend before his patience stretched too thin to handle it.
Although, truthfully, the first thing on her mind upon opening her eyes had been to wonder whether he’d indulged any of his... Needs with her at all while she slept.
Her hardened muscles relaxed a tad as a wave of relief washed over her when concluding he’d kept his hands to himself. Well, more or less since he still clung to her as though the cure to all ailments lay in her hands alone.
Quite ironic, considering his blood held the key to that as well.
"The ship is sailing this way," he murmured, lips almost grazing her ear.
"Can you hear it?"
"Yes, I can," chin still pressed on her shoulder, Silas nodded, rubbing back and forth against the fabric draping her.
"Then perhaps we should get ready,"
The vampire did not like the seriousness in her voice one bit. It was as if Arabella was aching to escape his embrace.
Though he questioned that invasive theory since she did not squirm or attempt to free herself.
"There is something I’d like to attempt if you agree,"
In a heartbeat, the stiffness that had subsided reclaimed her whole again. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, she simply asked him a question in response, "Do you need my permission to proceed?"
At her core, Arabella thought she knew what he wanted to do to her, but was instantly proven wrong once he skipped past answering her and elaborated instead, "I’d like to test the effect of the Mirari on you without the intervention of my blood," his voice remained steady and soothing, much like the warmth he’d enveloped her in.
"You would like to feed right now," she half asked, doing her very best to maintain consistency in her tone yet failing miserably.
"No," he said, "I won’t be taking any of your blood,"
"Will that be wise?" she asked.
"I believe so. That way I won’t have to heal you afterwards. Not to mention it hasn’t been more than two weeks since my last feeding session," he nodded against her shoulder again.
"But... Will it be fair to you?"
In response, he merely hummed in agreement. Though, noting the way her heart battered its cage, he was prompted to speak, "If you don’t feel up for it then I won’t do it,"
"How long does it usually take for the symptoms to show on a blood provider?" she lowered her head and swayed her face slightly away from view.
"It shouldn’t delay more than a day or two,"
The little nod she gave before her words was perceptible enough, "Then yes. I agree to it,"
Silas took a moment to assess her response before brushing her hair out of the way then pulling the fabric that shielded her neck down. Very gently, he tilted her head further to the side in order to expose her bare skin.
As soon as his warm breath stroked her, the beating that was already erratic in her chest was pushed over the edge of redemption.
her breathing grew shallower and sharper the moment his burning lips connected with her tender flesh.
And then, that familiar surge of tingles prickling her skin, born in her neck only to bypass all and any barriers erected for the sole purpose of protecting her already fragile mind from such overwhelming rushes that shut down all security measures in her.
Little by little, and the deeper his fangs sank into her, that stiffness that reigned supreme over her muscles evaporated for the usual mellowness that picked up the torch after it.
In a state of complete helplessness again, but conscious enough to realize not a drop of blood left her body which revealed to be a new issue to overcome on her end.
Since Silas was syphoning no blood, the dizziness that followed the biting never came along to sweep her off her feet, thus condemning her to remain conscious throughout it all.
As such, the pleasure began gradually shifting to agony for all of her senses went into overdrive.
Her skin threatened to crack from the pressure the heat alone was forcing on it. Every limb, every finger fell into complete numbness, no strength managed to overthrow, leaving her utterly paralyzed.
Even her eyelids refused to move, complaining of heaviness she had no energy left to raise as only tears streamed down her cheeks.
Her once shallow breaths turned deeper, slower... Until the fear that her heart would stop compelled her to beg for mercy.
"Please..., no more,"
Thankfully her mouth retained some of its free will, allowing those cries through.
The instant the words reached his ears; Silas ripped his fangs away only to be greeted by the look of horror on her face.
"What is it?" he held her practically limp body. The customary, impartial expression stood no chance as his features twisted in order to mirror hers.
"I... I don’t think the Mirari is meant to spare blood providers from pain," Arabella struggled to drag those words out with each sharp, but slow inhale, "I think it’s meant to paralyze your prey," tears continued to spill one after the other.
