Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 439 - 324: One Versus a Hundred? Taste My Siege Crossbow Backstab! (Part 2)
"So ruthless. As expected of Fang Zhou."
"Sigh, Fang Zhou is really ruthless. He won’t even spare a beauty."
"He’s nothing short of a god of slaughter."
"The power of this Bed Crossbow is incredible. When did Fang Zhou even find it?"
"He’s so powerful! Look, all those elite players are completely stunned," a student in the audience said, pointing at the once-confident contestants. He was clearly shocked to see these powerful figures in such a sorry state.
The Rookie Competition had been going on for quite some time, yet because of Fang Zhou’s presence, he remained the constant focus. One climax followed another, and even though the competition had dragged on, the spectating students felt no fatigue. Instead, the shocks delivered by Fang Zhou only made them more excited.
"Fang Zhou, you’re too ruthless," Mo Zishu hissed, his voice low and filled with clear anger and resentment.
"What a joke. A whole group of you gathers here to kill me, and you expect me not to fight back?" Fang Zhou sneered in response, his tone carrying a biting chill. "Don’t waste my time. Hurry up and fight me."
"I’ll give you one minute. If I don’t see you attack, I’ll immediately scale the wall and leave. Then, I’ll find opportunities to hunt you all down, one by one."
"Are you crazy? Threatening us?" a student exclaimed in disbelief.
"Cut the crap. The countdown starts now. If you don’t attack within one minute, I’m leaving. I keep my word," Fang Zhou sneered, his tone firm and uncompromising.
The dozens of participants surrounding Fang Zhou were suddenly struck by a sense of absurdity. All of them were being threatened by a single person.
However, Fang Zhou’s words were not without reason. If he really did turn and leave, not only would their efforts have been for nothing, but they would also have sacrificed many of their comrades in vain.
"Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish." Mo Zishu took a deep breath, trying to stabilize his emotions. "Let’s use Plan One. Those who volunteered earlier, step forward. Get ready. Once you’re inside, you must blast him to smithereens."
Instantly, a Knight holding a thick shield and a Druid stepped forward. Behind them were several Archers and Mages.
The Knight raised his sturdy shield and cautiously stepped into the dangerous area. The Druid followed close behind, while the Mages trailed at the rear, ready to provide magical support at a moment’s notice.
"Buff them! Reinforce their Shields!" Mo Zishu commanded, his voice clear and strong.
Flashes of light flickered over the players, and each one received at least one Shield, enhancing their Defense Power. As the lights continued to dance across them, the team’s morale seemed to rise.
Fang Zhou frowned for a moment, but his expression quickly relaxed. He unleashed a Death Ripple, attempting to halt the enemy’s advance, but the effect was minimal. The Support Professionals in the rear immediately healed the Knight and the Druid, restoring their health completely.
Then, Fang Zhou began to aim the Bed Crossbow and quickly fired.
WHOOSH! The Arrow shot out. Without the long Power Storage from before, the attack’s power was significantly weaker. Even so, the shot instantly killed the Knight who had charged in first. The Druid, however, had already transformed into a hawk and was flying low toward Fang Zhou.
Next, the Mages started to cross through the rift. With Shields and various buffs cast on them, the damage from the Spiky Trap was practically negligible.
The Druid, now a hawk, had no expectation of survival. His only goal was to harass Fang Zhou, and he succeeded. By the time Fang Zhou killed the hawk-form Druid, the Mages had already used movement abilities to exit the corridor and appear in the courtyard. Auras of various colors flickered over their bodies, a clear sign of powerful support.
"Let’s see you act so arrogant now," Mo Zishu said coldly. "Go!"
In reality, he hadn’t even finished speaking before the students lost all restraint. Seeing the successful breach, they had long since thrown their previous agreements to the wind. They scrambled toward the rift, eager to launch the final assault.
"If I didn’t have a few tricks up my sleeve, would I just be foolishly waiting to die? You’re the fools."
As Fang Zhou’s words fell, a formidable Battle Group of dozens of Skeletons suddenly appeared by his side. They seemed to have been summoned from the depths of Hell, each one emanating a grim chill. Wielding rust-covered weapons, they arranged themselves neatly around Fang Zhou like a legion from the Netherworld.
"Die."
Fang Zhou’s voice was like a curse from the Abyss as he began a frenzy of casting. His hands moved like phantoms. A black light flashed, and a Skeleton Flying Spear shot out, instantly snuffing out a Mage’s life.
THWACK, THWACK, THWACK, THWACK...
Fang Zhou flapped his skeletal wings, nimbly dodging the Mages’ spells while swiftly counterattacking. Every move he made was accompanied by the fall of another Mage. He was so fast that he left afterimages hanging in the air.
At the same time, more students began pouring in from the corridor, and the entire courtyard erupted into a fierce battlefield. The Mages’ spells and Fang Zhou’s Skeleton Flying Spears intertwined, forming a dense web of energy.
At this stage, a Mage’s spells were nothing more than Arcane Missiles, Fireballs, or Ice Arrows. Even the skills of players with Rare Professions were just variations of these basic spells. In the chaos, some Mages even started casting area-of-effect spells, plunging the entire courtyard into pandemonium.
After every dodge, Fang Zhou would retaliate with a Skeleton Flying Spear followed by a Death Ripple.
Against his onslaught, classes with high Defense could barely hold on for a moment. But the squishy classes were destined to be instantly killed the moment they were struck in a vital spot.
"So this is Fang Zhou’s true strength... It’s terrifying."
Not just Liu Diewu, but all the students in the audience witnessed the scene. The saying "a life for every step" was perfectly demonstrated here. Not a single Mage targeted by Fang Zhou could escape his pinpoint attacks. The Skeleton Flying Spears seemed to have eyes of their own, seeing through the Mages’ every move. No matter how they dodged, it was futile.
POP, POP, POP...
With every spell Fang Zhou cast, another contestant’s body would explode, sending flesh and blood everywhere. As the battle raged on, more and more Skeletons joined the fray, as if summoned from an endless dark, becoming Fang Zhou’s loyal followers.
The students suddenly realized that, apart from the initial bombardment by a dozen Mages that had put Fang Zhou in a tough spot, the tables had begun to turn. In just a short time, before they could even process it, dozens of Skeletons had gathered around him. Most of them were Skeleton Archers, which meant he now had what amounted to a small fire-support team.
The hearts of the spectating students rose and fell with Fang Zhou’s every move. They had initially thought that this time, he truly faced an inescapable doom. After all, despite sacrificing a few people, that large group of players with Rare Professions had finally broken through Fang Zhou’s one-man defense. The sight of more than a dozen Mages attacking simultaneously was spectacular, and competitors were flooding relentlessly through the rift.
However, reality once again defied their expectations.
Not only was Fang Zhou not killed, but he had also stabilized the situation. The arrow rain from dozens of Skeleton Archers was utterly terrifying. The entire courtyard was covered by a storm of frenzied bone arrows, as if shrouded by a shadow of death. Each Skeleton Archer aimed and fired with precision, their arrows pouring down like an impenetrable storm and causing cracks to appear in the enemy’s once-tight formation.
