Undead Beast Master: Living Solely for My Desires-Chapter 337: Wounds That Won’t Heal
'There is no way I can allow somebody to attack me and my city only to allow them to get away scot-free!' That thought pushed Zaroth to go beyond his limit.
He wasn't weak. He'd prove it. At the very least, he would leave behind a heavy mental and physical scar on his enemies—something deep enough to satisfy his rage.
"You suddenly came to attack only to run like a dog with its tail behind its legs!" he roared, his odachi heading for Silver's head.
She managed to lift her left hand in time to stop the attack, her bones ached yet the ice armor remained whole, not allowing for Zaroth's odachi to draw blood and poison her.
'I need just a bit more force!' he reassured himself, he opened his mouth wide and let out a fire breath. As his mind and heart felt like they were about to split apart any second now, an instant regret washed over him.
His body, however, didn't care, running on pure adrenaline, it moved attacking with the odachi once more.
Silver's eyes widened. She was close to Zaroth, meaning the fire was at its full power when it hit her.
For the first time in her life, her ice armor let go, starting to melt at an alarmingly fast rate.
It seemed that Zaroth was able to sense that moment of weakness as his blade was already going for a stab at her abdomen where the armor had become weaker.
She had focused on running; she wasn't mentally prepared to defeat or dodge!
The brief moment her gaze landed on Zaroth's blade was all she needed to see how menacing the thing was. If it left even a little scratch on her, there was a real danger of her not making it out alive.
Time seemed to slow down, her mind racing on what to do.
"Need help?" a familiar voice called out below her. She had been so distracted by Zaroth's attack that she hadn't noticed the shadow below her feet.
Before Zaroth could reach, Orin appeared from the shadow, his scythe suddenly stopping his attack.
'Shit!' he cursed in his mind as Orin seemed keen on capitalizing on the opportunity and tried his luck going for his head.
"Oh no you don't!" Before the scythe could connect, Eldros finally appeared by Zaroth's side, his two swords shattering through the very fiber of existence.
A loud thunderclap echoed in the vicinity once the weapons collided, the ground below broke into spiderwebs from the sheer force alone.
Both of the men were staggered back. At that moment, Silver seized her chance. Seeing her life flash before her eyes a moment ago made her swear to not fight Ghost again unless the whole council was present!
Extending her arm, she grabbed Orin's hand. Using her ice powers, she froze the uneven ground and shot away from the fight.
"FUCK!" Zaroth shouted in the purest form of rage he had felt for a long time. The enemy was about to get away!
'Luna!' Not willing to let that happen, he used their mental connection. 'Stop them! Kill someone I don't care, make them pay for daring going against me!' he ordered.
Receiving her master commanded, Luna's already menacing eyes seemed to shine even more threatening as she went past the poor imitation of her form, her eyes locked onto the woman that was able to control the smoke.
The air boiled due to the devastating attack she unleashed, yet there was no effect as Ashira wasn't trying to attack but was just running away full force. Her smoke was acting as a giant wall separating her and her comrades from the deadly dragon.
"NIGHTSHADE!" Coughing up blood, Zaroth ordered his panther.
Her shadow appeared only for a fraction of a second, already going against the enemy.
Being a simple shadow not only allowed her to move fast and unseen but made it possible to go below the smoke wall that Ashira had created.
Her weightless form began to approach the enemy. Even with their great speed, they were greatly injured, slowing them down, giving the panther the chance to narrow the gap.
"Run faster!" Ashira nudged, being able to get a good look at her comrades. What she saw shocked her.
Orin had countless claw marks on his body, Silver's armor had been melted partly and she was visibly disoriented, Hector had a heavy wound on his back from which he was losing liters of blood.
She and Velastra were the only ones that were relatively fine, if one didn't count that their mana cores were almost empty.
If they had tried to stall Luna even a little longer they would have surely perished.
'How can one man push us to such extent?!' she thought, a shiver going down her spine.
Ghost was dangerous! Much more dangerous than they initially thought. 'The only way we get rid of him is to gather the whole council and attack!' This was the report Ashira was going to give once they went back to the capital.
Nightshade began to get closer and closer, until—
The shadow disappeared as she was forcefully dismissed.
"Bastards!" Zaroth, managing to stand only because Eldros was lending him his shoulder, cursed as he bled from every hole on his face.
He had reached his limit, and his beasts were dismissed—not by his own will, but from sheer survival instinct. If he had waited even a second longer, he would have died right then and there
"You attack only to run away again! Believe me—next time we meet will be the last!" he roared, his bloodshot eyes blazing, his mind hell-bent on bringing the entire empire to the ground.
The attack was over and the former slave city survived.

Hundreds of dead soldiers lay on the ground, their blood sinking into the ground.
Suddenly the blood trembled as it began to move, going up in the sky, forming into lances only to be launched at the next enemy.
Some tried to stop the culprit with their arrows, but as soon as they were fired, they all stopped being caught by threads.
"Impressive," Zack flashed his girlfriend a smile.
Grace scoffed, "We have trained long enough, it is high time we make ourselves useful in the war."
As her words left her mouth, hundreds of swords passed over her head heading for the enemy forces.
"You seem to be doing alright." Roran pointed out, coming into view as he levitated on one of his swords.
"How dense can you be? Can't you see that they were having their own moment?!" Lily spoke with irritation and nudged Roran with her elbow.
Zack and Grace burst into laughter upon seeing the two.
"Look they are laughing!" one of the Crimson Sun forces shouted as he pointed at the four.
What kind of monsters were these kids to be laughing in such situations?!
They looked to be as strong as the Council members—if not stronger. This had to be reported at all costs!
He didn't live long as he soon found himself burned to a crisp by one of Lily's spells.
"Enough laughing," Roran said, gazing at the horizon. "It's time we reunite with Zaroth."
