Tyrannical Tycoon Haunts Me Relentlessly-Chapter 18: The Visitor Turns Out to Be Him
The storeroom caught fire, and everyone thought it was just a small blaze, but in the blink of an eye, the flames suddenly surged violently.
Clothes, shoes, and hats filled the place; items especially prone to burning. Once ignited, they were difficult to control.
"Are you sure Xia Yinian is inside?" Chi He asked Tao Tao coldly as he watched the fire intensify over there.
Although the fire department had been alerted, they couldn’t arrive immediately, and with the fire so fierce, everyone was essentially helpless to save themselves.
Tao Tao’s legs went weak from panic: "Earlier, Minister Zhang punished Nian Nian by sending her to clean the storeroom, and after that, I haven’t seen her. The storeroom is right in the corner of the cloakroom..."
Suddenly, a tall figure strode purposefully toward the smoke-filled cloakroom.
"Seventh Young Master!" Everyone was scared out of their wits, and Boss Ye and Manager Liu were so frightened they almost knelt down.
Seventh Young Master’s status was so revered! If something happened to Seventh Young Master in their company, they would be ruined!
No one expected Seventh Young Master to personally go in for a rescue, not even Chi He.
She was just a girl who had "slightly interested" Seventh Young Master, not worth the risk at all!
But Seventh Young Master really went in, and the fire was so fierce inside!
Without a second thought, Chi He quickly followed after him.
The pace of Seventh Young Master was surprisingly fast, so fast that even Chi He couldn’t catch up!
"Seventh Young Master went in..." Boss Ye’s body slumped, his voice trembling with urgency, "Don’t just stand there! Go save him! Hurry!"
Seventh Young Master could not have an accident, absolutely not, otherwise, everyone here would be buried with him!
...
Xia Yinian felt like she had really brought upon herself the misfortune of eight lifetimes.
Locked in the storeroom, with not a soul outside, she tried everything but still couldn’t open the door.
As she sat down to ponder any possible way to save herself, she suddenly smelled something burning.
Gradually, the scent grew stronger, accompanied by thick smoke seeping in through the cracks of the door.
There was a fire outside!
Xia Yinian was startled and frantically banged on the door: "Is anyone there? There’s a fire! Open the door! Help, someone help!"
But outside, there was still no one, and it seemed the fire was getting bigger.
The black smoke that seeped in through the door crack was also getting denser.
As time passed, Xia Yinian choked until even breathing became difficult.
The temperature in the storeroom climbed higher and higher until she collapsed on the ground, utterly hopeless.
Was she truly going to be burned to death here today? She still had so many things to do, she didn’t want to die.
She hadn’t bought winter clothes for the children at the orphanage, Xiao Lian’s surgery money was still not fully raised, and her Grandma was waiting for her to return home.
And, her Mom whom she had never seen since childhood, she still hadn’t found...
Looking at the tightly closed door, she lifted her hand but didn’t even have the strength to get up.
Unable to open the door, she couldn’t escape; her eyelids growing heavier, she realized she was dying...
Just when Xia Yinian felt the most desperate, suddenly, the door was forcefully kicked open with a bang.
Amidst the smoke, she seemed to see a tall and cold figure, a face so handsome that it took one’s breath away.
But how was that possible? In such a dangerous moment, the person coming to save her, how could it be him...
Another wave of smoke rushed at her, and Xia Yinian’s breath hitched, finally closing her eyes.
Just as she lost consciousness, her limp body was scooped up in one swift motion.
Feeling the strength of his arms, Xia Yinian finally found solace.
Though she feared this domineering man, at this moment, his presence filled her with a sense of safety.
It really was him who came.
