Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1114: I Don’t Want to Date a Doctor
"You..." Hailey Hale looked him up and down, surprised to see him in a lab coat, and asked, "You work here?"
"Yes." Ian Shelby’s demeanor was warm and refined, and even in a lab coat, his shirt underneath exuded meticulous elegance.
"..." Hailey was both surprised and quite moved.
Jocelyn Morgan looked up close at his handsome face, answering, "We’re not feeling unwell, I brought my sister-in-law here for a pregnancy check-up. Which floor is it on?"
Ian looked at her, "It’s on the fourth floor."
"Thanks a lot!" Meeting his gaze, the girl smiled, linking arms with Hailey, "Sister-in-law, shall we go?"
"Sure." Hailey turned her eyes to look at her sister, then waved at Ian, "Bye-bye then!"
Ian waved back gently, watching them as they walked away before turning to leave.
Hailey looked back while walking, watching that figure fade into the distance. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Then she turned to the young girl beside her and softly asked, "Jocelyn, do you like the type of guy Dr. Shelby is?"
"I don’t want to date a doctor." Jocelyn replied without thinking, "They’re so busy, they can’t pay attention to my feelings."
But Hailey seemed to catch on to something, joyfully asking, "So you like him? Have you considered dating him? But after considering it, you got cold feet?"
"To be honest, I really admire him." Jocelyn admitted straightforwardly, "I’ve always admired doctors. They’re dedicating their youth to saving lives and working for humanity’s health. It’s admirable!"
Hailey mused, "So, can I understand it this way? You admire him greatly, and as long as he has a bit of a liking for you, you’d quickly get together?"
"..." Jocelyn was expressionless, "Hard to say."
"Alright, alright, I’m being nosy." Hailey took her into the elevator, ending the conversation.
Recently, thanks to Mia Lane’s small team’s efforts, the Dalton Group’s annual gala dresses were all designed and completed ahead of schedule.
So, they moved back from the Dalton Group to the Kingston Group.
As the group’s vice president, Mia Lane had her mind entirely on her brother, Ethan Dalton, spending most of her time at Providence Hospital.
Justin Kingston was very supportive of this.
Ethan Dalton was staying at the hospital 24/7. Ian Shelby arranged a special room for him, fully equipped and very quiet.
The test results were coming in gradually. They invited renowned experts from home and abroad for consultation and planned to administer the best treatment. The related medications were being researched by Mia and Ian.
David Garcia remained busy with work but occasionally visited his son. He was filled with confidence and trust in his daughter and Ian, as well as gratitude.
"Ian, here’s Ethan’s bone age report."
Vera Ford walked into Ian’s office with the report while he was at the desk, hand on the mouse, looking up information.
Hearing her, Ian looked up, "Why is the report with you?"
"Dr. Zhang had something come up and asked me to bring it over. He said he was afraid you’d need it urgently," Vera said, with eyes fixed on him unsure of the truth.
"Alright." Ian reached out to take it and averted his gaze, not looking at her again.
Vera didn’t leave immediately. She was dressed neatly, her earrings carefully chosen, "Ian, don’t overwork yourself, make sure to rest, don’t work overtime again."
These days, she hadn’t seen him at home; he would return at 2 a.m. Vera was very concerned about his health.
"I won’t work overtime today." Ian said, then glanced at her, "You can go back to work now."
In that moment when their eyes met, Vera felt a warmth welling up inside, as if a warm current was flowing through her veins.
