"Mommy, when are we going for the picnic?" Dolly was already looking forward to it, "Should we bring Uncle along?"

As she asked, Dolly placed a piece of meat into Ethan’s bowl and gave him a sweet smile.

Earlier, when they were playing with Legos together, Dolly really liked him. She found him very quiet, and together with her uncle, they almost defeated her brother.

Mia Lane was serving soup to the kids while answering, "We’ll go after we rest a bit post-lunch, waiting for a call from Sister Hailey."

She also said, "Of course you can bring Uncle, and Grandpa will be there too."

"Maybe I shouldn’t go? It’s more fun for you young folks to be together." David Dalton had a kindly smile. He didn’t want to spoil his daughter and son-in-law’s fun.

That’s when Justin Kingston spoke up, "Dad, let’s all go. It’s a rare holiday, and it’s nice to relax together. If we’re using age as a measure, I guess I’d be excluded too."

His comment made everyone laugh.

"Alright, alright, I’ll go too." David Dalton no longer declined, thinking he could help take care of Ethan, allowing everyone to enjoy themselves.

Trevor had something to attend to, so he said goodbye to everyone and left.

Around 2 p.m., Hailey Hale called Mia Lane’s phone, "Have you finished eating, Mia Lane?"

Hailey Hale was in a good mood and reported, "My in-laws just left for the office. Finn Morgan drove my mom home and should be back soon. I’m sorting things at home and getting ready to leave!"

"We’re ready to leave anytime. Let me check with Anton Miller and Ian Shelby."

"Alright, Jocelyn is here with me, helping to count the items. Everything should be bought, even though I’m a bit scatterbrained, Finn Morgan is very meticulous!"

"Okay, I trust you guys."

After hanging up, Mia Lane first called Ian Shelby, having mentioned the picnic plan earlier and he agreed.

He said he could leave anytime when she called.

After lunch, Anton Miller, who was playing chess in the yard with Kristina Kingston, was thoroughly enjoying the warm sun and barely felt like moving.

"Are you done at the club?" Mia Lane asked, "Want to join us for a picnic this afternoon? You can bring the kids from the club along too."

"I’m not at the club."

"Not there?" Mia Lane was surprised, "When I invited you to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival together, you said you’d be taking care of those kids. Where are you?"

Anton Miller picked up his tea cup, "At your place." and then took a sip.

His leisurely tone hardly sounded like a joke!

"Are you serious?"

But Mia Lane was still in disbelief, "You’re at Emerald Cove? When did you get there? Didn’t even call ahead."

"Anton, it’s your move."

Mia heard her mother-in-law’s gentle voice clearly and was momentarily stunned, "Are you playing chess with Mom?"

"Yes." Anton Miller responded calmly.

Mia Lane opened her eyes wide in astonishment, "So... I won’t disturb you then? You continue?"

"Yes." He replied in the same tone, showing no interest in the picnic.

Even after hanging up, Mia Lane was still in shock. She quickly pulled Justin Kingston’s arm and asked mysteriously, "Guess where Anton is?"

"At our place?" Justin Kingston was shocked too, having overheard her call.

"Yeah, playing chess with Mom!"

Justin Kingston paused for a moment, then smiled with relief.

Soon, everyone prepared, ready to set off.

Gigi and Dolly got into Grandpa’s car with Uncle.

Mommy and Daddy rode together in a car.

Ian Shelby set off, bringing a medical kit just in case.

Finn Morgan and Hailey Hale were also loading things into the car, everything was brand new, and Jocelyn helped with a sun hat on.
